Refusing to refund my money

refundmymoneynow · 23/03/2020 11:26

I've booked an appointment to have my nose pierced with a tattoo parlour, they have several studios in England. I've made the mistake and booked to have it done at their Glasgow studio when I'm in London, I've paid online and they're now refusing to refund the money. It was £25. I don't know what to do Sad

Well trained dog?

Don't be ridiculous. Dogs don't have thumbs.

You want a trained monkey for piercings Grin

DamnMyImmuneSystem · 23/03/2020 13:06

"several studios in England"

"booked in their Glasgow studio"

For that alone I hope you never get a refund.

PeterPanGoesWrong · 23/03/2020 13:17

Well trained porcupine?

helgahelga · 23/03/2020 13:18

@refundmymoneynow All the LOLz.

Just use a school compass and an ice cube.

heartsonacake · 23/03/2020 13:20

There’s nothing you can do. It’s your mistake; they don’t need to refund you.

DogInATent · 23/03/2020 13:25

How long ago did you book it and when did you notice it was for the wrong studio?

You do have rights when ordering services online, but you do have to correct your mistake/make your cancellation within a reasonable period of time (which will be given in the terms and conditions when you booked).

amusedbush · 23/03/2020 13:27

Well trained porcupine?

Can they go in the autoclave? Grin

They are under no obligation to refund you because they have done nothing wrong.
Instead of asking for a refund you should have asked if you could postpone and reschedule for a local company near to you.

MysticMeghan · 23/03/2020 13:38

I booked 2 hotel rooms for a night out that isn't going to happen. £180 down the drain which I can ill afford. Non refundable and already charged to my credit card. I am going to chalk it up to very bad luck, pay it off and hope to God then when we come out of it the other side the friends and family I had planned to spend the evening with will still be here to plan new adventures with. The venues we had planned to go to may not be open anymore, the acts we had planned to see may not be touring, the people we had planned to meet up with may no longer be around. But I am holding onto the hope that we may be able to do it again one day and that's all that matters to me right now.

viques · 23/03/2020 13:40

peterpangoeswrong the good thing about piercing porcupines is that the chances are you will actually get a piercing, which is not always the case with monkey piercers who can take umbrage ,climb up the light fittings and refuse to come down.

Of course it not be in the right place, but you will get one. Or two, or three...........

willloman · 23/03/2020 13:42

What MsMD said Grin If we could really collect some revenue on this basis the UK would be right flush at the moment !

MangoesAreMyFavourite · 23/03/2020 13:45

Glasgow to London is far enough to satisfy the social distancing issues. Should be fine.

Ydl22 · 23/03/2020 13:56

Blow dart from a distance straight into the nose. You’d need a sharpshooter, of course. Easy to find on Gumtree!

MagnoliaJustice · 23/03/2020 13:59

Surely you have more pressing concerns than this? I would imagine the piercing studio is closed anyway.

PurpleCrazyHorse · 23/03/2020 14:06

Unfortunately you made the booking mistake, so they don't have to refund you.

DH ordered Dominos once but hadn't changed our address. It was being made about 150 miles away!! He did ring to cancel but no refund as they were already making it. Lesson learned to always check the address.

Sunshinedelight1287 · 23/03/2020 14:17

Sorry OP but I hope you've learnt two lessons. One don't make mistakes online and check the location and two don't come on MN looking for sympathy as you rarely get it here.

Selmababies · 23/03/2020 14:18

Write them a bad review about it. Ad put it

Izzabellasasperella · 23/03/2020 14:18

@MysticMeghan.
My Mum booked 2 nights in a Travelodge on their super saver rate which is non refundable. She rang them explained the event had been cancelled and the hotel have told her she can use the booking at any Travelodge in the country for up to a year. Worth a try?

LittleDragonGirl · 23/03/2020 14:23

Good ol'MN Grin

But I would just accept your losses, people are currently experiencing huge losses, through things like booking hotels to attend children's graduations etc which hotels are wonderfully refusing to refund.

It's just part and parcel of the current climate.

Just consider it a life lesson on paying attention (and hopefully you'll pay more care when you book things in future, so it dosent happen with something that will occur much greater losses)

StrongMama1989 · 23/03/2020 14:24

I am presuming it’s blue banana? As no proper piercing studio has several around the county! Blue banana can not pierce. So thank your lucky stars that you lost £25 and didn’t get pierced by them.

Srslydontgiveacrap · 23/03/2020 14:41

Wow, is this all you have to worry about? £25 lost. Get a grip please!!!

damnthatanxiety · 23/03/2020 14:54

ilovebrie8 how do you know the OP isn't one of the people now finding themselves on the breadline??? Why does the OP's dire financial situation not concern you as much as the tattooists?

LakieLady · 23/03/2020 15:10

Pmsl, @Cacaca, that made me imagine the piercer standing on one of those rubber mats they have by the dartboard in pubs, and piercing her nose by lobbing a dart at it.

Sorry they're pissing you about, OP.

Powerplant · 23/03/2020 15:19

@MysticMeghan I was in same situation plans cancelled and no chance of hotel refund but I was able to amend my booking to a later date in the year
