... When you saw me stood there waiting to get my 6 month old her formula and you took the last 4 packs...

Fuck you! Selfish pig!

You can’t speculate anything

No it’s not fair, but maybe he has twins at home? Maybe he’s gone to several shops and desperation made him grab what he could

More than likely he was a cunt but still

Hopefully you find some thought OP

Piglet89 · 18/03/2020 20:08

Wow. I heard people are taking the baby formula because they’re concerned about running out of actual milk.

ZigZagIntoTheBlue · 18/03/2020 20:10

What did he say when you spoke to him at the time? Or a member of staff? At Tesco yesterday they were confiscating things off people at the check outs, could've followed him and asked for one box to be handed to you instead?

LittleYorkshireLass · 18/03/2020 20:11

Don't blame him, blame ASDA, if they sold him the 4 packs. 2 of everything is meant to be the limit in all stores now. 1 in some stores.

Adleladeladel · 18/03/2020 20:11

That's completely shit. What a selfish bastard. He could have left you one.

Do you have any to keep you going until you can get back to the supermarket?

GrumpyHoonMain · 18/03/2020 20:11

4 tins can be 20 days worth of formula for 1 baby, or 2 weeks if you have two. If someone is self isolating it would be fair.

IHaveBrilloHair · 18/03/2020 20:13

Why did you just stand there?

user1473878824 · 18/03/2020 20:13

OP, it’s incredibly frustrating. But for all you know he has ill triplets at home. Or maybe he’s an arsehole? Perhaps the person after you if he’d left some could have posted the same thing about you?

Moodymagpie · 18/03/2020 20:14

Yes, thank you. I thankfully found some. And yes, shame on Asda for selling him them..

OP posts:
Polkadotpjs · 18/03/2020 20:14

More likely he’s an arsehole sadly

Moodymagpie · 18/03/2020 20:16

No. I wouldn't have taken them all. I'm not selfish.. However. When I see people selling baby milk for three times the price on Ebay I can't help but be suspiciousAngry

OP posts:
MissPoldark · 18/03/2020 20:16

Maybe people should be asked to show a birth certificate to buy formula?
Granted it would be easier if people could avoid being utter wankers...

JellyTots2009 · 18/03/2020 20:16

I was at self service in Tesco and a woman had three bottles of Milk, a massive water bottle and twelve small bottles in the pack. She was asked by staff she can only have one of the milk and pick which water she wanted. There's a list of what they can have and how many.
I went to Asda afterwards and they had three big pallets of loo roll (9 pack) and it was 1 per customer. I didn't take any as I have some at home. I'm not a cunt lol.

LeniSpring · 18/03/2020 20:17

DP went to get toilet paper the other day. He took one multi-pack of 9 rolls, but another man tried taking the whole crate! They told him no at the till and he got lary and tried walking out with it. Security stopped him.

user1473878824 · 18/03/2020 20:17

So if you took the LAST one and someone was behind you? You have no idea of his circumstances.

Sarjest · 18/03/2020 20:19

I was in Lidl (in spooky silence, but that’s another story) when one woman with a baby asked the cashier if they were getting more tins of baby powdered milk. The cashier replied authoritatively that the woman should contact the supplier and they would deliver it. I really don’t want to get your (or anybody else’s) hopes up but I heard it correctly. Good luck, OP.

Moodymagpie · 18/03/2020 20:19

If it was the last one... That's different... Not four. If it were the LAST one yes. I'd take it regardless because my child needed it... I wouldn't take the LAST 4 packs.

SinkGirl · 18/03/2020 20:20

We could only buy 3 cartons of oat milk for our dairy allergic twins today because it’s UHT. That’s 3 days worth. I understand it though.

Windyatthebeach · 18/03/2020 20:20

Look on Iocal fb pages op. My ds has just told me his mate went and none of the one for lactose intolerance - managed to get some tins off someone on fb.

mctagmcbag · 18/03/2020 20:24

Maybe he just prefers the taste of baby milk to semi skimmed

NorthernLass75 · 18/03/2020 20:24

I was behind a woman in Waitrose yesterday who had 80 bottles of liquid hand soap. 80.

She was made put 77 of them back.

AlternativePerspective · 18/03/2020 20:24

There’s a difference between taking the last one and taking the last four.

There are always apologists who come on to these threads trying to justify why being a complete arse is acceptable. Yes, maybe he had triplets at home yada yada, but maybe the OP had a sick child at home etc, it’s all a vicious circle.

Given the current climate, taking more than one is unacceptable when you can see there’s a limited supply. Maybe two if there’s a massive pallet of the stuff, but not if there were only four and there were others there waiting for some.

As for questioning the OP as to why she didn’t say something, maybe it would have been good if she had, but actually, it’s his responsibility not to be an arsehole, not her’s to ensure he isn’t.

stuckinthemiddlewithtwats · 18/03/2020 20:25

It's infuriating. My baby has been in hospital for the last couple of weeks, we've come out to find we can't buy any formula. My milk has dried up due to not being able to breast feed her or pump in the hospital, so we're stuck with the dregs of the tin we already had.
Luckily my brother found one tin last night in boots. Dread to think how hard it will be to get another one as it's taken days to find that one tin Angry

4amWitchingHour · 18/03/2020 20:26

Thanks for that hilarious contribution @mctagmcbag ... Hmm

Soubriquet · 18/03/2020 20:26

80 bottles of hand soap?!

Wow

But then, did anyone read about those two men who bought hundreds of hand sanitiser to sell online. Ebay and amazon both banned the selling and they were left with them all.

Though I think they have donated them now under public protest
