Seems that most all the supermarkets have a 2 or 3 of One item policy on the go tomorrow.

So we'll see how that works out.

HakunaRattatas · 18/03/2020 22:04

Well at least we can be certain that he has read this thread and understands the error of his ways.

PicturesOfCats · 18/03/2020 22:09

They go through milk so quickly at that age though, won’t lie I’d be tempted as well.... but then I’d feel bad for not leaving any for the other little babies that need feeding
I’m very glad I don’t have a little baby right now

greeneyedlulu · 18/03/2020 22:10

A friend told me that if you are stuck for formula you can go to your local chemist and ask them to order it for you and there is also a number on the formula pack that you can ring for them to deliver you some.

Another friend works for sainsburys as a driver and said the warehouses are fully stocked but they cant get the products out quick enough so people shouldn't be panic buying as it's stupid. Unfortunately theres a lot of twats out there!!

PicturesOfCats · 18/03/2020 22:12

You can get your local chemist to order for you, but don’t call the number as it’s a myth, they’ve issued a statement apparently

ChillinInMyBacta · 18/03/2020 22:12

Everyone needs to report Ebay and Amazon profiteers. The listing will be taken down and account may be suspended. Report, Report. If people can make money price gouging online then they are less likely to invest in bulk "highly prized" items.

Willow2017 · 18/03/2020 22:16

there is also a number on the formula pack that you can ring for them to deliver you some.

Yet another FB special meme of nonsense. Appparently you can get free milk just by ringing the number, its rubbish.

“this is not true and I’m really sorry to hear that people are spreading false rumours at such a worrying time. The World Health Organisation guidelines on the promotion of breastmilk substitutes STRICTLY prohibit us from giving out free milk under ANY circumstances.”

Lilyrose15 · 18/03/2020 22:20

Hi OP, someone told me today that if you call the number on the back of your formula tin and explain your having trouble finding it in your area that they will send it to you free of charge. I haven’t had to try this fortunately but If you don’t find any maybe give it a try?

BootShakin · 18/03/2020 22:25

The kind of selfish people I do hope the virus will wipe off.

Manchestermanchester · 18/03/2020 22:26

@SinkGirl wow you have to feed your children oats because you can’t get animal milk? Wow.

I didn't know the "ring the formula company" was a hoax but I never thought it would be free even if they did deliver it to you, I just assumed you'd have to pay by card over the phone. Have to say though I knew people would be stupid about this so I got 2 extra tubs over a week ago.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 18/03/2020 22:37

Why isn’t the shop rationing such things? I had thought they mostly were now.

greeneyedlulu · 18/03/2020 22:39

I think a lot of them are now and the 24 hour ones are closing overnight to give staff a chance to restock the shelves

lmcneil003 · 18/03/2020 22:50

Did you ask him for one? If not, why not?

Al1Langdownthecleghole · 18/03/2020 22:57

I sincerely hope that the people who are planning to benefit from profiteering over essentials will be left with the stock unsold, and make a huge stonking loss.

HunterHearstHelmsley · 18/03/2020 22:59

I don't understand how this is supposed to work. I posted previously about buying three lots of loo roll for three households. Apparently this was wrong. Who decided which household is more worthy? Who should go without?

I got filthy looks last night for buying the last jumbo pack of size 5 nappies. Wtf am I meant to do?

I've not bought formula as I don't need it but it's all so contradictory. Help the vulnerable.. But only if it's at your own expense.

Sarjest · 18/03/2020 23:18

Namechange4nowt45 plus others.
Sorry, I wasn’t trying to spread fake news, the cashier definitely said it. Thanks for putting me straight on that.

BlessMeDarkFather · 18/03/2020 23:24

I have an unopened tub of sma lactose free.....I'm in flint if anyone needs it, I'm really struggling to find the cow and gate 1

YourWinter · 18/03/2020 23:32

It's all very well the store putting notices up on the shelves explaining its fair shopping policy, and limiting numbers of certain core items, but we the cashiers have to police it. Advice from management, they do not expect us to get into difficult discussions or put our own safety at risk if customers choose not to follow these requests.

Not fun.

okiedokieme · 18/03/2020 23:47

If you are struggling it's worth trying small branches and independent grocers who do have stock often or will keep behind the counter for you when their delivery comes. Tesco express have got me paracetamol and precious bread flour (I genuinely bake my own bread, have done for 15 years!)

Curious78 · 19/03/2020 00:20

"It’s not fucking selfish to put your own baby first, and anyone who says they wouldn’t is lying or neglectful."

Or is CONSIDERATE.

user1477391263 · 19/03/2020 01:12

Wouldn't work. I foster a small baby, I don't have that document.

Surely you have some sort of documentary proof that you are legally in charge of this child, though? If not, the organization which overseas the fostering could easily produce some.

Cheeserton · 19/03/2020 01:15

Sick and tired of all the Facebook bullshit around Corona. When will people fucking learn...

MigginsMrs · 19/03/2020 01:17

YANBU, he’s a bastard.

Even if he had twins, 2, or at a push 3, packs would do a week. I’ve FF 2 babies and there’s only a slight peak you go through more than a pack a week.
