Yes horrible term to use Blush

YouFellAsleeep · 02/03/2020 19:08

Absolutely awful. I don’t understand what’s wrong with just saying “feeding”.

Namechangexyz1 · 02/03/2020 19:08

How about titting or mammary glanding your baby

TheSmallClangerWhistlesAgain · 02/03/2020 19:08

Breastfeeding is a perfectly nice word, or "feeding" works. "Boobing" sounds like an old auntie's euphemism for farting.

Goodgollymiss · 02/03/2020 19:09

Sorry.. am I able to turn off voting?

I guess yabu - it's awful, please stop
Yabu - it's a normal expression

i don't like it.

OhLook · 02/03/2020 19:11

It's definitely cringey, but not offensive.

I agree it's like hollibobs.

Knittedfairies · 02/03/2020 19:11

Stop it. Now.

coolwalking · 02/03/2020 19:11

Awful! It's not clever or funny at all.

drina27 · 02/03/2020 19:13

Yuch.

WickedlyPetite · 02/03/2020 19:13

Do your friends who bottle feed call it 'bottling'?

As in "I'm just bottling the baby". "I bottled her to sleep".

No.

Stop using 'boobing'. It makes you sound ridiculous.

lazylinguist · 02/03/2020 19:13

It's not offensive, it's just cringey because it's one of those words that sounds like a babyish word a toddler would use. Sounds fine from a toddler (who will grow out of it), but not from a grown woman.

EverythingChanges321 · 02/03/2020 19:14

If someone said that to me I’d assume they were talking about making a huge mistake - a boob. It wouldn’t occur to me that you meant breast feeding a baby.
In fact, I’d probably assume you were a bit dim and didn’t know the right word. Sorry!

drina27 · 02/03/2020 19:14

Toddlers use boob? Who knew. That’s weird.

BarkandCheese · 02/03/2020 19:15

I was boobing the bubba while the hubster booked our holibobs with the famalam. Grin

Goodgollymiss · 02/03/2020 19:16

HmmI'm way over thinking this now but I think Its used more in my house asshe needs some boob or _is she looking for boob .. i feel like i say boob alot Confused is boob ok? Is it just the ing at the end or the word!...

OP posts:
Beautyoftheirdreams · 02/03/2020 19:16

I'm really not a fan of the phrase. I fed my baby, I did not 'boob' him

LiveLaughLoveFuckOff · 02/03/2020 19:16

I BF myself and cringe when I hear others say ‘they’re giving the baby some boob’ or similar. It’s pretty grim imo, sorry OP x

Babyg1995 · 02/03/2020 19:17

Doesn't offend me but does make me cringe 🤦

RestaurantoffBroadway · 02/03/2020 19:17

I think a boob is a sniggery sort of word for a breast so I find it oddly sexualising in a yukky Benny Hill kind of way.

drina27 · 02/03/2020 19:17

God. how attention seeking to use the word like that.

drina27 · 02/03/2020 19:18

Benny Hill-ish? Exactly.

drina27 · 02/03/2020 19:18

Is this for real?

Shinyletsbebadguys · 02/03/2020 19:19

To be honest I just find it a bit crass , I'm honestly not remotely a prude but just why?

Honestly I find it a bit attention seeking , which I'm usually alright with, nothing wrong with a bit of attention but for using the word boob? Ergh

drina27 · 02/03/2020 19:19

Don’t want to be wasting my time.
