viques I agree with you, huckleberry stalks sounds right Grin

faracrossthepond · 02/03/2020 19:44

@Goodgollymiss Not a bad term. It just sounds bloody stupid.

Guiltyfeminist1 · 02/03/2020 19:45

Horrific!

BullshitVivienne · 02/03/2020 19:45

I think it's the sort of daft thing you say in your house with your partner but shouldn't repeat outside. Like pet names for your baby.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 02/03/2020 19:45

I will actually stop immediately... I'm cringing blush why didn't anybody tell me!

You shouldn't need to be told!

Mrskeats · 02/03/2020 19:46

Terrible.
(As is saying 'a lot' is one word)

CallmeAngelina · 02/03/2020 19:46

It's an awful term. Right up (or rather down) there with "changing the baby's bum."

Fairypiggy · 02/03/2020 19:46

The expression boobing makes me cringe! Have heard it more on instagram rather than in real life.
As others have said reminds me of holibobs, also famalam and drinky poos!

katy1213 · 02/03/2020 19:47

Vulgar - horrible - chav. I don't actually know anybody who speaks like this!

Goodgollymiss · 02/03/2020 19:47

thanks guys! U live and u learn huh?

boatyardblues · 02/03/2020 19:48

It’s like “medalling” at the Olympics, so unnecessary when there are already perfectly acceptable alternatives. Also sounds like 15 year old boy speak too.

Goodgollymiss · 02/03/2020 19:48

Drinky pops 😖😖

To me "boobing" was something we giggled about as teenagers i.e. something done only between consenting adults. It's not something you would do with a baby !!!!

(Not something I would do personally either but maybe I'm a bit unadventurous. )

UnaCorda · 02/03/2020 19:49

There's nothing wrong with saying "does she need fed"

That's a matter of opinion...

TimeForPlentyIn2020 · 02/03/2020 19:49

Aren’t we supposed to be glad that chavs are boobing their babies, not making fun of them for their word choices.

Singinghollybob · 02/03/2020 19:49

I hate it! Dont know why people have to make an issue out of it, just say milk, feed, feeding, hungry etc

Don't worry OP, it's used around these parts by DH and I. I'm a human fucking dummy so in DDs case it is often "the boob" she is after, the milk often feels secondary TBH. I frequently "boob her to sleep" and that's the best description I can come up with for the lengthy, exhausting process of subduing her with my boobs.

BangingOn · 02/03/2020 19:52

I don’t like it, but I also hate ‘changing their bum’ for changing a nappy too and that seems to be a popular phrase.

Goodgollymiss · 02/03/2020 19:53

@Marahute I really feel this post Grin

coconuttelegraph · 02/03/2020 19:57

@Huns2Getha4Eva
Or with changing a bum!!! thats what your doing isnt it?

I'm thinking that with a user name like that Huns posts are ironic rather than serious responses

Bezalelle · 02/03/2020 19:57

Personally, I prefer "titting".

lastminutelily · 02/03/2020 20:01

Actually laughing out loud at people on this thread criticising the use of a pretty harmless word on the grounds of inaccuracy or attention seeking with ridiculously hyperbolic (and slightly attention seeking) language like it's some sort of heinous crime. It really isn't. It might be a bit cringey to some but honestly who cares? It's just a word. People need to lighten up.

Noconceptofnormal · 02/03/2020 20:01

It's definitely awful, I've only read about it being used on Mumsnet though. No one I know would use it but I'm afraid if I heard someone I'd just met use it I'd slot them in a category of people I'm unlikely to have anything in common with.

bmbonanza · 02/03/2020 20:02

What are you changing it for?? You aren't 'changing a bum' you are changing a nappy.
