To ask what your “dirty secret” foods/snacks are

So I know this has probably been done before but wanted to see what everyone likes again. They don’t necessarily have to be secrets, but maybe things that you wouldn’t let people in RL know except for maybe your dh/partner.

I have an extensive list but will just give a few of my favourites.

Beef & tomato pot noodle sandwich, salt and vinegar crisps with mayonnaise on white bread, ritz crackers with just piccalilli, babybel with piccalilli, salt and vinegar crisps with a little bit of mayonnaise on each individual crisp, and a salt, pepper, jalapeño pepper with mayonnaise sandwich. I do have a lot more things but couldn’t possibly list them all, and that’s just from the top of my head. I don’t eat these things all the time obviously.

Mashed potato sandwich, loads of butter and even better if I can add gravy!
A mini kinda sandwich with mini cheddar - square of galaxy - mini cheddar.
Mini popadoms, a whole bag. Lined up neatly on a big plate with each one having a blob of spicy toms, raita and chutney.
Gravy granules straight from the jar.
Cup of oxo

Blamangeatrois · 26/02/2020 23:44

Well, obviously, it has to be nutella eaten straight out of the jar with spoon/knife or what ever's handy then denying all knowledge! And strong cheddar cheese cubes spread with peanut butter! Grin

Ariela · 26/02/2020 23:46

A thinnish slice of marzipan squished between two ginger snaps.
(If the slice is too thick a) it's unmanageable and b) it's too sweet and sickly. )

AnotherMurkyDay · 26/02/2020 23:49

@Nogoodnickname

Oh I do the too. I just get whatever's in the fridge and put it out. My eldest calls it a "picnic dinner" and asks for that over proper cooked food fairly regularly.

We have "freezer pot luck" every now and then too. Literally just whatever is left in the freezer. Fishfingers and Yorkshire puddings go together right?

My kids have divided plates because they don't like their food mixing. I just put something to dip things in (usually ketchup) and they'll sit there ploughing through all the frozen, fridge and tinned foods cut into dunk-able pieces. I don't actually know why I bother ever cook proper meals because they are much happier eating food that way. And I'm happy eating cold soup from the tin.

Nogoodnickname · 27/02/2020 00:49

@AnotherMurkyDay I do love a concoction, especially my nans’ speciality concoction which consists of cooked diced potato, cooked shredded chicken, peas, sweetcorn and salad cream. Doesn’t sound so great but every time she makes it the whole family devours it. She’s South America and has a lot of fab recipes under her belt. Not very South American this one, but definitely one of our family favourites every time she makes it.

Happyadventurer · 27/02/2020 01:05

Morporkia · 27/02/2020 01:09

Cold bean sandwich, to be honest if it’s savoury I will put anything between 2 slices of bread! Also a spoonful of Cadbury’s hot chocolate powder..’my mum used to go mad 😂😂😂

OlaEliza · 27/02/2020 01:09

@envelopeofpubes Butter AND peanut butter on toast when I’m hungover. For shame

Fucks sake, that's the only way to eat it. Ever.

I used to like green micro-noodle sandwiches.
And toast with salt on.
And a toasted bagel with cheese microwaved on with encona hot pepper sauce.
Crisp sandwiches.
Stale wotsits.

OlaEliza · 27/02/2020 01:12

Seafood sauce on toast.
Supernoodles with buttered cheap white bread.

OlaEliza · 27/02/2020 01:14

Digestives with butter & cheese on.
Pitta with ham and a dirty cheese slice in and toasted in the toaster.

OlaEliza · 27/02/2020 01:18

Paxo made up with hot water waiting to go in the oven.

I used to work with someone that used to eat sausage rolls in bread rolls. I tried it once and it was just odd. I also tried the austerity sandwich (a slice of toast in-between two slices of bread) after reading about it online - not good either.

OlaEliza · 27/02/2020 01:21

Bread & butter dipped in the fat left on the pan by grilled bacon.

OnNaturesCourse · 27/02/2020 01:22

Spag bol mince on a sandwich with grated cheese in it too. Delish.

Jam and cheese sandwiches with ready salted crisps.

OlaEliza · 27/02/2020 01:29

Does anyone else remember the lasagna sandwich that Tesco's brought out years ago?

I tried it and it wasn't nice cold. If cooked in a sandwich toaster I bet it would have been amazing.

I used to cook shop all-day breakfast sandwiches in the sandwich toaster and it made them edible (vile if cold).

AdaColeman · 27/02/2020 01:31

Blue cheese on plain chocolate digestives.

Hot chip sandwich with oozing butter.

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 27/02/2020 01:35

Spam on a sandwich with ketchup.

Hellokittymania · 27/02/2020 01:35

If any of you who love peanut butter go to Singapore, try the peanut butter toast at a local place called the toast box. It is on very thick slices of bread and it’s amazing. And it’s cut into these little squares. I love toast box.

And I grew up in the US, so I love peanut butter and jelly. And it’s a thing in Singapore too, not just in the US.

ProseccoandPizza · 27/02/2020 01:42

New potatoes and mint sauce in white bread and butter. Preferably a freshly cooked/baked part bake baguette. Nom!

Originalusernameunavailable · 27/02/2020 02:51

Coco pops (no milk obviously) on Buttered toast.

MrsMonkeyBear · 27/02/2020 05:41

As a pp said, super noodles with tuna. It can only be the chicken ones though.

Beef Hula Hoops with dairylea cheese on cheap white bread.

ivykaty44 · 27/02/2020 05:44

Prunes, unsulphered apricots with 70% chocolate broken into tiny pieces & eaten slowly together

Blondephantom · 27/02/2020 06:39

Crunchy peanut butter and nutella in between two slices of toast. Think I may have to try the banana, peanut butter and honey toastie after reading these.

Franklymydearidontgiveadam · 27/02/2020 07:53

Oh and I've bought lots of the big max sauce pots abs and I eat it with almost anything. X

NurseButtercup · 27/02/2020 08:11

@AhoyMrBeaver

I'm going to track down the Chilli and Cheese hot cross buns, I need to sample this concoction.
