To be flabbergasted by CF

Someone posted a thread the other week about how people are CF's on Facebook free sites. I did comment and say I'd had a clear out and used my DH's account to put stuff on our local free site and people wanted stuff but expected me to drop it off to them.

So one of the things i gave away (and delivered) was a Nestcafe Dolce Gusto coffee machine that we had used maybe 5 times i even gave away the coffee pods we had left with it.

Fast forward to today the lady who had it has messaged my DH on Facebook saying she is disgusted she only had the machine 4 weeks used it everyday and now today it's stopped working and her DH is furious because he did not get his coffee this morning and we should be ashamed of ourselves for giving it away knowing it was going to break, and now they are left with boxes of coffee pods and no machine and now her DH is expecting her to get a replacement TODAY and we should contribute.

DH replied something along the lines of f**k off you crazy woman. It was free and it worked fine otherwise it would not of been given away. We gave it away because it was something we did not use. He has now blocked her.

She has now started messaging off what must be her DS Facebook account calling my DH a coward again she's been blocked.

It genuinely was in perfect working order as she knows because she's used it for the last month.

Some people really do have some nerve. I actually laughed when DH rang and told me because i was so shocked.

I will never give anything away on Facebook again now. I can not believe people can be so vile. I am absolutely dreading bumping into her she sounds completely unhinged

And hope things have calmed down now op I'm guessing it was her messaging your ss. Can't actually get over her behaviour!

I hate this so much. Even selling things also.it seems nearly everyone is a nut job! My husband will often ask me to put stuff on Facebook for sale as I'm a sahm so it's easier for me to do it. But I hate messaging the people, dont like to give our address out and definitely don't like people coming to collect stuff. It makes me feel very vulnerable. I refuse to do it now. He has to do it on a weekend when he is here.

We listed a sofa for free, collection only.
Woman responded, then asked us PLEASE could we possibly drop it off, she was only a mile away, she didn’t have a car.
Like mugs, we agreed.
THIRD FLOOR FLAT, no lift, she’s older, DH thinks we should be kind.
Finally got the damned thing up the stairs and she mentions her 3 sons will be home shortly. In their twenties. In their van.
I could have screamed.

Good grief Arthritica! That would have made me want to take the sofa back downstairs, into the car and driven away!! Cheeky bitch!

cstaff · 18/02/2020 09:56

I would have fucked that sofa out the bloody window. Some people are unreal.

readingismycardio · 18/02/2020 10:02

@Arthritica pls tell me you told her she is a bitch

I've thought about listing on FB but haven't been brave enough yet - these stories fill me with dread! I use eBay mostly and apart from a few people messaging me to ask if I'll sell items at half the asking price and to post immediately because they must have it straight away, it's not been too bad. If we've had things we no longer need (chest of drawers, bigger baby toys, etc) we've put them outside the house with a sign on saying "free to good home" and they always go. I'll only do this if the weather is good mind but so far nothing has been returned. Quite a few people do this in the area we live - in fact we've had a slide and a few larger baby toys from someone doing the exact same thing just up the road!

I left the flat and went to sit in the car (while DH made nice noises and left politely) because I was livid. As name implies, I’m not in the best physical shape myself.
But WOW was I mad.
