Someone posted a thread the other week about how people are CF's on Facebook free sites. I did comment and say I'd had a clear out and used my DH's account to put stuff on our local free site and people wanted stuff but expected me to drop it off to them.

So one of the things i gave away (and delivered) was a Nestcafe Dolce Gusto coffee machine that we had used maybe 5 times i even gave away the coffee pods we had left with it.

Fast forward to today the lady who had it has messaged my DH on Facebook saying she is disgusted she only had the machine 4 weeks used it everyday and now today it's stopped working and her DH is furious because he did not get his coffee this morning and we should be ashamed of ourselves for giving it away knowing it was going to break, and now they are left with boxes of coffee pods and no machine and now her DH is expecting her to get a replacement TODAY and we should contribute.

DH replied something along the lines of f**k off you crazy woman. It was free and it worked fine otherwise it would not of been given away. We gave it away because it was something we did not use. He has now blocked her.

She has now started messaging off what must be her DS Facebook account calling my DH a coward again she's been blocked.

It genuinely was in perfect working order as she knows because she's used it for the last month.

Some people really do have some nerve. I actually laughed when DH rang and told me because i was so shocked.

I will never give anything away on Facebook again now. I can not believe people can be so vile. I am absolutely dreading bumping into her she sounds completely unhinged

Cyberve · 13/02/2020 12:05

I doubt it's broken. Probably just trying to see what they can get away with.

Thelnebriati · 13/02/2020 12:08

Its not craziness or abuse she is suffering, its bullying and entitlement. I wonder when it becomes bad enough to be extortion?

PenguinsOnParade · 13/02/2020 12:09

I got DDog free via a local online ad and when I went to meet the woman before picking him up she actually told me I had been literally the only person to send her information about our family and home, and the areas we lived near where he could be walked and how he would fit in with us and be cared for. Every other message was apparently just "What's his name?", "Can I have him?", "I'll take him" and so on. He was the most amazing dog too, she didn't want to give him away but had changed jobs and couldn't give him the attention he needed.

I think that was the first time I realised how cheeky some people online could be. I used Freecycle to get rid of some baby things and thankfully had great experiences but I just donate everything now as friends have had a nightmare even selling things on Marketplace.

Ok update now i am very peed off!!

My DH is self employed he has a glazing company he is very respected and well thought of in our village/small market town.

So CF has now wrote a post on Facebook slagging off DH and his business telling people they should never use him and to share the post. (No mention of coffee machine or disbute)

DH has now had to go on his business Facebook page and write a post naming the lady and adding a screenshot of her her Facebook post an explanation of what's happened and screenshots of abusive messages he's recieved off her.

Thankfully everyone has had his back been very supportive some even find it hilarious at her complete insanity. He has had a message off the person who set up the local free & unwanted page to say she has now been removed from the group as she has previously done similar to someone else but she has now gone to far involving my DH business when he's done absolutely nothing wrong.

I hope that f**king stupid coffee machine scolds her. Nasty vindictive bitch

You can't argue with crazy, laughing really is the best thing to do. I hope the disguise works. Does it involve a big moustache? I've got to go to the supermarket soon so I could look out for you and back you up if she attacks you.

Wickedwoo · 13/02/2020 12:13

@Zurina i do know her husband i have known him since i was a small child as I've lived in the area all my life and honestly this does not sound like the man i know. He seems like a lovely man (i may be wrong) but it sounds as though it's her and in the update I've added we are not the only ones to receive abuse off her regarding a free item and she has now been removed from the Facebook site

I gave away a nursing glider chair. Worked perfectly fine but the vinyl upholstery was cracked. Had photos on the listing and the lady came and inspected it and took away the chair. She then started sending abusive messages the next day demanding I pay for the chair to be reupholstered. Can I reiterate that this chair was given to her for free.

Zurina · 13/02/2020 12:15

Ok, fair enough, just the way she was talking about her DH didn't well with me, like she was scared of his reaction if she didn't replace it, but as you say it coukd well be her and all that is an "excuse" to be nastier and maje it about someoje else

Wickedwoo · 13/02/2020 12:15

@1forsorrow just noticed DH Freddie Krueger fancy dress costumes seriously considering going out in that 😂

I know now the whole village will be talking about it so i might just stay in and see what's in the freezer

I am in Dorset and I put an Ikea footstool [matches Poang chairs, so quite big] very cheap on Gumtree. I got a message asking me to post it - to North Yorkshire!!!

Wickedwoo · 13/02/2020 12:17

@TheKrakening3 people really are unbelievable aren't they. I would never dream of behaving like that

Stayawayfromitsmouth · 13/02/2020 12:17

Shock what a bitch! Well done on calling her out.
At least with ebay you can leave and check reviews and raise a dispute, etc.
Still get con artists saying they didn't receive the item though.

Roussette · 13/02/2020 12:20

I gave away the white goods in a kitchen.... Neff double oven, gas hob, under counter fridge and seperate freezer because we were having a revamp and nothing fitted properly.

Guy came round and took the lot, he had bought a flat for his son to live in at Uni and it needed a new kitchen. Fine, take it away for nothing.

Then I got a text from the wife asking if I had the baking tray that came with the oven. It had the racks but not the baking tray she said.

I said... we are currently living on a building site with no kitchen or hall and I have no idea where the baking tray is, or even if I've still got it so the answer is no I don't have it. I thought that would be the end of it.

No.
She rang and texted countless times asking if I'd found the baking tray yet and then came round to ask me too! I had to say... stop asking me, I DO NOT HAVE THE BAKING TRAY that came with the free oven, free hob, free fridge and free freezer. Go away!

What are these people on??

Qcng · 13/02/2020 12:22

It's nice to hear your village basically have your DH back, and she couldn't do any harm.
What a loon.

Qcng · 13/02/2020 12:23

Shock wtf baking tray, you can get em in Wilkos for a few quid!!

Roussette · 13/02/2020 12:24

I hope that fking stupid coffee machine scolds her

Grin That coffee machine better call her all the names under the sun and tell her to behave !

She sounds like a loon by the way!

Wickedwoo · 13/02/2020 12:24

@Roussette 😮 how very dare you not have the baking tray that goes with the free oven, free hob, free fridge and freezer how very rude now go and find it 🤣🤣

When my daughter was born she was in prem clothes and we had to find tiny clothes for her, which isn’t that easy. So when they didn’t fit anymore I thought I’d put them on the free site on Facebook, to help anyone else in the same position. I stated all of this in my post. One woman wanted them for her daughters doll, I did say ok before I realised they were for a doll! Then another woman asked for them for her prem grandchild. So I said I’d gift them to the lady that had a premature grandchild. Well the other woman went mad called me every name going and reported me to admin who told me I’d be blocked from the page if I didn’t honour my agreement with the first woman. So I said I’d split them between the two. I only gave one outfit to the woman for the doll and she came to my door put her handout snatched it looked disgusted and walked off no thank you! I wish I’d been stronger at the time and told them all to fuck off but emotionally I wasn’t in a great place. The second woman was so lovely and great full so that made it worth it.

Another time I sold my babies car seat a woman messaged me at 9am asking for address I told her it and said I’d be available at 4pm.and asked her to clarify if she was coming then, I had no reply all day. At 4:30 she hadn’t come and another woman asked if it was available and she could come straight away so I said yes. Roll on to that evening my daughter got poorly we was on the sofa together at 9:30 pm her asleep on me, and my door went, I wasn’t expecting anyone and couldn’t get up with out waking my daughter so I ignored it, I did think to myself surely that’s not the woman for the car seat, but as I’d had no messages since 9am off her and now it was nearly 13 hours later it wouldn’t be. 10 minutes later I get a message to say I was out when she came and am I in as she wants to get the seat. I messaged back telling her since I hadn’t had any confirmation she was coming for it and she was 5 hours late that it had sold to someone else. I said I’d heard the door but my daughter was asleep on me poorly so I couldn’t get up and wouldn’t of sick I wasn’t expecting anyone at almost 10pm in the dark. I got a load of abuse that I was a cunt and I terrible excuse for a mother not having my child in bed at this time of night etc. In the end I told her to fuck off and buy a new one if she was a better mother than me! Honestly some people shock me.

LEELULUMPKIN · 13/02/2020 12:27

You literally could not make this shit up could you?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 13/02/2020 12:27

I put an Ikea footstool [matches Poang chairs, so quite big] very cheap on Gumtree. I got a message asking me to post it - to North Yorkshire!!!

I see your Poang chair and raise you a delicate, vintage turntable which a (UK) ebayer asked me to post ... to Argentina

I still can't quite work out if it was a joke or not

Ellisandra · 13/02/2020 12:30

@madwifenewlife there’s no excuse for rudeness, but I understand the first woman’s annoyance! She shouldn’t have expressed it to you, but she was honest it was for a doll and you’d already said yes. You changed your mind for the more ‘worthy’ recipient.

AryaStarkWolf · 13/02/2020 12:32

After they got really cheeky DH replied saying “In the interests of fairness and no bad feeling, I’ll send you a refund of what you paid in the post...”

Genius......you should have let him send the cheque though Grin

SistersOfPercy · 13/02/2020 12:32

I had a woman yesterday expressing total shock that I wouldn't deliver the £50 worth of unused stuff I was selling for a tenner to the other side of the country.
I delisted it. I'll shove it in a cupboard.

TooGood2BeTrue · 13/02/2020 12:37

Some people really have no manners. I would message the Facebook group admin, OP, with proof of the abuse and ask for them to blocked. That should teach them a lesson.

YouokHun · 13/02/2020 12:39

Cheeky fuckery and plain old fashioned stupidly. I sold a food mixer and was asked to deliver it to Bedford (200 mile round trip). When I refused saying that the fuel and wear and tear on my car would make the £50 I was asking pointless they responded in a shirty fashion by saying “what is wrong with you people who say you want to sell things. You’re not going to get any interest if you’re not flexible” Hmm. I responded by saying I only sell to people with an IQ over 80.

Someone asked me (about the same item) “will it fit in my kitchen cupboard?”. Well now, let me see...do you live in a dolls house? Do you live in a full scale house but with other things taking up space in your cupboards? Confused
