To be flabbergasted by CF

Someone posted a thread the other week about how people are CF's on Facebook free sites. I did comment and say I'd had a clear out and used my DH's account to put stuff on our local free site and people wanted stuff but expected me to drop it off to them.

So one of the things i gave away (and delivered) was a Nestcafe Dolce Gusto coffee machine that we had used maybe 5 times i even gave away the coffee pods we had left with it.

Fast forward to today the lady who had it has messaged my DH on Facebook saying she is disgusted she only had the machine 4 weeks used it everyday and now today it's stopped working and her DH is furious because he did not get his coffee this morning and we should be ashamed of ourselves for giving it away knowing it was going to break, and now they are left with boxes of coffee pods and no machine and now her DH is expecting her to get a replacement TODAY and we should contribute.

DH replied something along the lines of f**k off you crazy woman. It was free and it worked fine otherwise it would not of been given away. We gave it away because it was something we did not use. He has now blocked her.

She has now started messaging off what must be her DS Facebook account calling my DH a coward again she's been blocked.

It genuinely was in perfect working order as she knows because she's used it for the last month.

Some people really do have some nerve. I actually laughed when DH rang and told me because i was so shocked.

I will never give anything away on Facebook again now. I can not believe people can be so vile. I am absolutely dreading bumping into her she sounds completely unhinged

I think that you could have a bit of fun with this one. Write a sarcastic apology and offer a brand new replacement coffee machine of their choice! And then, just keep putting it off and stringing them along with unbelievably daft excuses! You could post the responses online!

TiddlestheCat · 13/02/2020 18:54

Or advertise for free broken machines and keep dropping them off as replacements. You have their address after all. Finally, you could write to inform them that they have won a National Award in Cheeky Fuckery and have won some Tassimo coffee pods.

bmbonanza · 13/02/2020 18:55

She is bat shit - ignore her

EuroMillionsWinner · 13/02/2020 19:03

Then there's the chancer who shows up at your door for the agreed item and tries to pull the 'But I only have a tenner on me' thinking you'll still hand the item over. Nope. We had one do this with a telly we were trying to flog. Couldn't believe we didn't give it to him. Fuck off.

Wifeofbikerviking · 13/02/2020 19:07

Tell her to return it for a full refund 🤣
What a cheeky woman....in seriousness though I would just not reply to her or her son and block.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 13/02/2020 19:25

Well that escalated quickly
Is this coffeezilla?
Blimey

SchadenfreudePersonified · 13/02/2020 19:45

So CF has now wrote a post on Facebook slagging off DH and his business telling people they should never use him and to share the post. (No mention of coffee machine or disbute)

Surely this is actually libellous?

What a cowbag!

DressDrama01 · 13/02/2020 19:54

A few years ago we where getting rid of an ikea book stand. Offered it to family and friends but no one wanted it we then tried to shift it on FB free page, that brought out all the loons of the day so in the end we gave it to a charity shop.

2 years later, yes two years, MIL decided that she would like it after all and since we (obviously) no longer had it we should give her the money to buy a new one Confused

BananaChocolateLump · 13/02/2020 19:56

I was selling a tv a while back, had a lovely message from a lady who not only massively lowballed me on the price (had it up for 150 - big decent 50 inch telly- she offered 40) and wanted it delivering over 20 miles away!

Obviously I said no, can't deliver, sorry. She gave me a sob story that her kids were missing their programmes and it really wasn't that far away, I said and I quote "I don't drive and even if I did, I wouldn't be driving that far to deliver."

She goes so you're saying you'll deliver then?

I simply replied that she must be on glue and blocked. Madness.

acatcalledjohn · 13/02/2020 20:06

I love a good FB/Freecycle/Gumtree CF thread. Thoroughly enjoying the thread until she involved your DSS.

Harassing a 16YO is a cuntish thing to do.

TiddlestheCat · 13/02/2020 20:10

Oh, just read the rest of the thread and how nasty it's turned. Yes definitely the police! That is awful!

poppyonastring · 13/02/2020 20:24

LOL what an utter weirdo!

MissConductUS · 13/02/2020 20:41

We Yanks have such a stereotype of Brits that you're all so unfailingly polite, considerate and fair minded. Certainly much more civilized than we are. I think it comes from watching so much British telly. No one on this side of the pond has any clue about all of the CF's running amok over on your side. Grin

SchadenfreudePersonified · 13/02/2020 20:46

They are the vile underbelly of British culture MissConduct.

Soft, white, flabby and best kept hidden . . .

Dutchesss · 13/02/2020 20:59

Report her for slander, that should shut her up.

HavenDilemma · 13/02/2020 21:05

I had my purse stolen in a charity shop the other day by an elderly lady! Now there's a cheeky fucker!!!! Particularly as I'm obviously disabled and she will have clearly seen the photograph of my DC as she opened it!!!

Slightly different to the thread I know, but still cheeky fuckery!!!!

Pumpkintopf · 13/02/2020 21:39

Am gobsmacked by some of the stories on here!!!

Hellbentwellwent · 13/02/2020 22:03

I once posted a sink and pedestal base on Freecycle. We’d bought it as part of a set from B’s and q but it didn’t fit and we couldn’t return it as it was part of a set. Posted it on Freecycle, brand new, for pick up only. A guy contacted me and we arranged a time for him to collect it. He turned up on time, so far so good, then asked me for a lift home with it as it was bigger then he was expecting and he’d taken the bus to collect it??? What was he expecting?? I obviously refused and he went all sad sacks on me and decided that he’d have to come back the next day to collect the pedestal as he could only carry one bit of it at a time. The image of him bumping that sink up our road forlornly looking over his shoulder in an attempt to guilt me into giving him a lift still amuses me to this day. He never came back for the pedestal.... twat, collection only does not mean come to collect and then expect a lift home as surely anyone can see that’s simply expecting it to be delivered with the added bonus of having to sit with some ransomed in your car on the decking delivery journey???

Greenpolkadot · 13/02/2020 22:11

I gave an ex friend a sofa and matching arm chairs. The chairs had really big back cushions. Not something you could easily misplace.
She'd had it for a while and then sent me a message to say that one of the chair cushions was missing and did I have it.
Of course I didn't.
Then she demand that I check my garage to see if it was in there.. Errr nope

Qwerty543 · 13/02/2020 22:40

I was selling my pine double bed (good condition) for £40 as I just wanted it gone but wanted something for it. Mattress thrown in for free if wanted. I got a rude fucker reply of "£20" nothing more. I replied saying no, £40 was a fair price. He replied that, no £20 was. Also had a few more cheeky replies (asking delivery when I'd stated clearly it was collection only, plus the area, numerous replies asking where I lived).

I then got a lovely message from a polite lad asking about the bed and I asked if he wanted the mattress, he said he only wanted that really so I said he could have it for free. He checked more than once if I wanted payment, I didn't as it was old, turned up a bit late but had messaged as his transport had fallen through. 2 nice young lads turned up, were very grateful, mattress gone. 2 very polite women bought the bed shortly after. Turned up when they said they would, didn't argue over the amount, were grateful for mine and DCs help carrying it all out to the car.

There are some utter wankers on these sites though who have zero manners. I just hold on to my successful ones as it restores my faith.

Glad you have involved the police though OP. She is utterly unhinged!

WitheredfromtheLake · 13/02/2020 22:49

"some people have the cheek of 10 arses"

This gives me the absolute joy.

happinessischocolate · 13/02/2020 22:59

I advertised the kid's 2 story wooden playhouse on a couple of fb pages for a bargain price, on one of the pages a woman commented within a couple of minutes "interested" but when I replied asking when she could come and see it, I got no response, however every time someone commented that they were interested if it hadn't already gone she would reply to them saying it was hers as she's replied first.

Meanwhile other people had commented on another page and by the time she finally decided to message me the following day it had already been dismantled and sold 😂

She wasn't happy, after many messages and it finally sinking in that she wasn't getting it she told me that she didn't want my shitty playhouse anyway 😂

Spartonian · 13/02/2020 23:07

Offered a couple of items for free, someone messaged asking if I was free at xx time so they could collect and asked if I was close to a bus stop. I replied saying I was sorry but I'm not available at that time but as I was out and about, I could deliver it to them free of charge. They simply replied, "no it's ok" and I never heard from them again.

I had another person who turned up to buy something, paid for it and then noticed I was selling something else, I told them the other item I was selling was £1 they said they did not have £1, I said never mind they could always come back tomorrow if someone else had not bought it by then, they suddenly remembered they had £1 in their pocket after all.

wapbapboo · 13/02/2020 23:10

I'm still stuck on the fact you drove round a free coffee machine to someone's house. V generous of you.

My Dad always says the problem with the internet is that it is used by idiots. Don't get ground down op (sorry terrible pun).

thelikelylass · 14/02/2020 00:07

This is like the bridezilla posts when you read about some people and cannot believe their behaviour. It's making me want to give away something free on FB just for entertainment.
(I give all my furniture to a heart charity and smaller stuff to an animals charity)
OP - I hope she's not sleeping now and worrying about the consequences of her lunacy.
