Hay...

Listening to the wind just starting to pick up here in Suffolk.

Wind could fuck off now tbh...
Noisy, mess, damage.
NW England

Toomuchtrouble4me · 10/02/2020 22:38

Northwest London - What storm?

billsmothers · 10/02/2020 22:40

It's all up here Toomuch

JustMyName · 10/02/2020 23:29

Pretty windy again here on the east Yorkshire coast. I picked my bin up, thinking the worst was over, but it's blown over again. Luckily it's empty and in my garden so not a problem.

DecemberSnow · 10/02/2020 23:30

Its been calm this evening but the last hour or so, the wind has really picked up again

We had mega snow all day! I got called to pick DD up early from nursery just in case, was scoffing on the way there as the main roads were fine.

Nursery is about 15 minutes away, we barely made it home. Must’ve got at least an inch in the time it took me to get there, get her coat on and back out to the car. All over the road on the way home!

Stopped snowing now but it’s to start again around 3am and not stop til Thursday! Her and I will kill each other if we are snowed in that long 😂

Merryweather80 · 11/02/2020 00:03

@billsmothers I’ve not been looking tob

Merryweather80 · 11/02/2020 00:04

To be honest. So much noise outside, I think we have lost a roof tile.
Where are you?
We had hail earlier x

billsmothers · 11/02/2020 00:13

It's got very noisy here too, we had hail and then snow in mid evening.
I'm near to Bill's mother's but on the Worcestershire side Grin

notangelinajolie · 11/02/2020 00:18

I thought the storm was yesterday but I seems not. NW England and it's really kicking of here tonight. It's blowing a gale outside.

MissConductUS · 11/02/2020 00:20

Blimey, the storm must have picked up strength over the Atlantic. It was bad here in the US but nowhere near what you're getting.

We've had a mild winter so far by New York standards.

billsmothers · 11/02/2020 00:28

It seems to be calmer here tonight, its not blown open a window (!) and isn't whistling down the chimney at the moment.

ElGuardiandenoche · 11/02/2020 01:13

@knowmenclature , we had bright sunshine and blue skies this morning and then it went black and we had 80-90 mph winds. The front and side garden are trashed with all the shrubs stripped and lots of branches every where, there are a lot uprooted as well. The pots are smashed, trampoline wrecked. The back garden is in untouched as it was sheltered. We’ve had to patch a window that blew open and smashed even though it was closed. We’ve been without power as well but it’s been sorted now.

We had an awful thunderstorm midway through the afternoon. I’d missed the lightening flash as I was cleaning up glass and then the thunder hit and it was so loud I thought a bomb had gone off or the chimney had come off the house.

We’ve had a day of calm, wind, rain, hail but we’re in one piece but it’s still blowing a bit out there.

Sorry to those who’ve really been hit badly and suffered lots of damage. Hope you can get it sorted with minimal fuss or bother.

knowmenclature · 11/02/2020 01:29

I am so sorry to hear this noche that all sounds very scarey! I hope it stays calm for you now iI really do!

I have been watching some of the awful damage and the speed of tye fast flowing rivers that have burst their banks. Lorries gone over, and one man lost his life when a tree fell on his car Flowers.

My heart goes out to those who have suffered this repeatedly, and are now giving up and moving away, can't blame them.

I hope thats the end of it.

How's everyone in the snow getting on?

ElGuardiandenoche · 11/02/2020 01:38

Thanks know we’ve had it easy compared to some out there. The damage is minimal money wise for us. The joys of a cottage with metre thick walls. I feel so much for those that have really suffered.

Hope you’ve been ok today.

knowmenclature · 11/02/2020 02:26

Good to hear back. We've not suffered with the weather, apart from worrying about it, just stayed out of it, and also away from the greater population, due to the increase in coronavirus in the uk now.

How lovely, must be very safe feeling behind metre thick walls!

billsmothers · 11/02/2020 02:58

Why on earth did they leave him out in a field ffs ? Angry poor pony.

newnamenewme2020 · 11/02/2020 03:13

Leeds awful. Flooding and nearly blew my knickers away

Squirrelwithaflute · 11/02/2020 07:18

We're still in the grasp of the storm by the looks of today's weather Confused far SW Cornwall

NoWordForFluffy · 11/02/2020 07:31

NW coast and it's relentless. Into the third day of 60+mph winds and today actually feels worse than the previous two days.

It's meant to drop to 40+mph overnight, then 20+mph mid-morning tomorrow. I'll be glad to see the back of it!

I've not heard of much damage here, thankfully. Though the longer it goes on, the more weak spots will be revealed, I imagine.

beingmum39 · 11/02/2020 07:57

Still very strong winds here today 55mph slightly stronger than yesterday. We had hail last night which laid and temperature plummeted. Few fallen trees too.

Another cold night tonight as well then all should be calmer tomorrow in Norfolk. Confused

amispeakingenglish · 11/02/2020 08:02

London is shit for weather , we don't get it. Just wet and grey and muddy or hot and humid and sweaty. Its awful, I love weather, put me on top of a Welsh mountain in the rain, LOVE IT.....

amispeakingenglish · 11/02/2020 08:03
