CF parking thread - picture included

Saturday night causally watching TV and some CF has parked on my driveway not only getting so close to my gate to my front door but blocked my car in as it's parked in front of the garage.

DP is livid as the ring doorbell has decided to die of battery so we can't see who it is or if they a) went into one of the houses who's back gardens go into the alley/road or b) someone that's gone into the pub despite the car park being empty.

We've checked and the cars not been taxed since October 2019!

My DP is currently sat with the blinds open waiting for whoever it is to come back but I'm pretty sure it's been abandoned for the night whilst someone has a drink or two.... so MN, how long do we think they will park here, who do we think it is and what entertainment might arise Grin

That it a very weird and random way to park...unless they're already drunk. Kudos for the diagram.

JayAlfredPrufrock · 08/02/2020 20:45

Oooh. I’d be raging. Bump it out of the way.

SauvignonBlanche · 08/02/2020 20:46

10/10 for diagram!

ahenderson270 · 08/02/2020 20:46

They've popped it on a drive because it's not taxed, report it to the non emergency 101 police number and get the driver dealt with - odds are they're in the pub and the police might even stake out to see if they'll drink drive. A lot of forces are shit hot on it at the moment x

namechanger2019 · 08/02/2020 20:46

I love the diagram Star

NRPDad · 08/02/2020 20:47

So they're half in the road? Strange...

discoo · 08/02/2020 20:48

NPR I'm guessing the front of the car is probably on the pavement, not the road. Could be wrong though.

SqueakyBinders · 08/02/2020 20:48

I'd go to the pub and ask them to call out the number plate. Then I'd report the untaxed car to the DVLA. Karma.

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily · 08/02/2020 20:49

Actually, while there’s actually no law to prevent someone from parking in your drive, it’s illegal to block a car into a driveway. I’d phone none emergency and tell them that an untaxed car has been abandoned on your drive.are they on part of the public footpath, because that’s even better. If they’re not too busy, they might be quite pleased to get an untaxed car off the road. 😁

ActualHornist · 08/02/2020 20:51

I’d report via the DVLA, call the non-emergency police, and maybe even go to the pub and ask them to shout out. I would be livid.

Brenna24 · 08/02/2020 20:52

Definitely call and report it as untaxed and blocking you in. Cheeky buggers. I bet they are in the park b and planning to drive after a drink too

Weenurse · 08/02/2020 20:53

Report.
Great diagram

peony68 · 08/02/2020 20:53

ooh settles in with some popcorn !

CherieBabySpliffUp · 08/02/2020 20:54

Definitely go into the pub and see if you can find some friendly guys to help you bump the car onto the main road.

cowboy · 08/02/2020 20:54

Have you knocked on neighbours doors?

Goingwiththeflow2019 · 08/02/2020 20:54

The back wheels are on the slight bit of public pathway/boot is level with the road causing an obstruction. The light pink is our drive. I couldn't get the box for their car smaller due to chubby fingers eating the chocolate tonight

DPs done the 101 whilst I was doing my drawing - hes so mad - and they have stated we need to report the untaxed part to the DVLA ourselves and weren't too bothered about coming out as there isn't much they can do. He mentioned we believe they've gone to the pub and they are now going to send someone round to 'have a look'. Since we heard a door slam, which is what alerted us to look outside as it was so loud, it's been parked here for 55 minutes..

Do you know a few strong men who can just pick it up and chuck it on the road? That is so cheeky!!

LangSpartacusCleg · 08/02/2020 20:57
  1. Great Diagram
  2. I would be sufficiently pissed off to a) call police non emergency number, b) check to see if the council have any authority on this, c) pour vegetable oil on the windscreen, d) look for a nail strip to place next to the tires, e) think ‘fuck it’ and deflate the tires myself.
Goingwiththeflow2019 · 08/02/2020 20:59

Our neighbours who's drives are in the alley bit are all fairly older - 70/80s and tend to be asleep by now. Definitely not one of them and even so, they have plenty of spaces outside all of theirs for their own visitors.

DP is contemplating going to the pub but I think it's more fun to see how this plays out especially if they send a local police car at some point as we often see 15/20 cars arrive on a Saturday night and they all are gone by the time we go to bed - it doesn't serve any food either so just a boozer in a country lane Grin

Just settling in with the popcorn, plenty to share

TrixieFranklin · 08/02/2020 21:00

Fuckers!!!

Flavarings · 08/02/2020 21:00

So they wouldn't do anythinv about obstructing you so you can't get out, but they will if they believe they've gone to the pub? How annoying!
I hope they move their car soon.
P. S love the diagram!

DoIStayOrDoIGoNow · 08/02/2020 21:01

Great diagram! Well done for calling the police, hopefully they’ll come and catch the CF!
