CF parking thread - picture included

Saturday night causally watching TV and some CF has parked on my driveway not only getting so close to my gate to my front door but blocked my car in as it's parked in front of the garage.

DP is livid as the ring doorbell has decided to die of battery so we can't see who it is or if they a) went into one of the houses who's back gardens go into the alley/road or b) someone that's gone into the pub despite the car park being empty.

We've checked and the cars not been taxed since October 2019!

My DP is currently sat with the blinds open waiting for whoever it is to come back but I'm pretty sure it's been abandoned for the night whilst someone has a drink or two.... so MN, how long do we think they will park here, who do we think it is and what entertainment might arise Grin

Unshamefully placemarking as I make the popcorn

Silvercatowner · 08/02/2020 21:05

Can you bump it into the road so its causing an obstruction, then call the police?

Sporty99 · 08/02/2020 21:05

Hope the police do turn up for you, but Saturday night they're usually run off their feet so might not happen. Maybe if the bad weather is keeping people in the won't be so busy.

Would love to see these CF's get their comeuppance.

Grumpelstilskin · 08/02/2020 21:06

Accidentally smash window, open door, take off handbrake and roll into road. That's what happened to someone parking car in our drive.

idontlike789 · 08/02/2020 21:06

If they have gone to the pub leave a note saying
Dear cf please do not park in or near my drive way again or the police will be called . Or something like I'm really shit at parking. Both will piss them off but some people are really cfs .
I remember one time my drive got blocked I need to go out , cf said it's bill's drive isn't it . I said that's next door and can't you see your blocking me in ? . I practically had to chase him down the street as he ignored me . Not once did I get oh sorry or anything it was passive aggressive as my NDN I don't think they liked how I parked . Is it not something like that?

Goingwiththeflow2019 · 08/02/2020 21:07

Ok so DP is even more fumed he's had to get out of his lounge shorts in preparation to go outside and go to the pub as well as to see if any of the neighbours have lights on to indicate they are awake/might have guests. I'm sat with noprosecco and some chocolates but he's asked me to write a note to stick to the car in the event it's still there when we go to bed. So far I've 'please refrain from parking on our drive next time' but apparently that's not acceptable given 'the situation' ha!

Do you have a nice neighbour who would park on the street behind CF and block him in too?

HardAsSnails · 08/02/2020 21:10

🚗🚙

MovingBriskyOn · 08/02/2020 21:11

AMAZING diagram. 1000 MN points!

Do you have any way of blocking in the car/any driving frieds or family you can call on to block it?

MovingBriskyOn · 08/02/2020 21:11

Eeek. Friends!

StoneofDestiny · 08/02/2020 21:13

This.
Bru report untaxed vehicle - they will tow it at their expense.

StoneofDestiny · 08/02/2020 21:13

But (not Bru)

Dandelion1993 · 08/02/2020 21:14

If you can, roll it out the way or set its alarm off.

If anyone comes to you to complain about the noise, explain its been dumped so you can't turn it off.

Thedeadwood · 08/02/2020 21:15

Amazing CFry

Fartymcnarty · 08/02/2020 21:16

Let the tires down!!!

Thefaceofboe · 08/02/2020 21:17

You just wouldn’t have the nerve would you. A car outside our house was parked completely on the pavement to the point a cat wouldn’t of been able to walk past never mind a pram or wheelchair. I went out with a note to ask them to not park on the pavement as it’s very inconsiderate and there was already a note saying ‘fucking moron’ and a huge scratch down the slide Shock

TomeOfSomething · 08/02/2020 21:18

big note stuck on with pritt stick or Vaseline

say don't park on a driveway you are not paying for

Stampy84 · 08/02/2020 21:18

Shamelessly following 👀

HeidiHoNeighbour · 08/02/2020 21:18

Why did he not lounge in his lounge shorts on the bonnet?
Also, can someone tell me what lounge shorts are??

SlippersAndThePaper · 08/02/2020 21:20

I would try and bump it into the road. Or stick post-it’s over the entire windscreen.

FlamingoAndJohn · 08/02/2020 21:22

I love that DH is so cross that he’s had to put on proper trousers.

TheyDoDoThat · 08/02/2020 21:23

Settling in for this one. Epic job with the diagram.

CoffeeNeeded2019 · 08/02/2020 21:23

I wonder if they’ve accidentally parked on the wrong drive? Could they have meant to park on one of your neighbours drives maybe?
I’m surprised the police haven’t offered to try to contact the owner to get it shifted;
they did once for me when someone blocked me in on a public road (very sheepish young guy ran out of local pub to move it!)

Sporty99 · 08/02/2020 21:23

Don't do anything to the car that will stop it from being moved.

mumwon · 08/02/2020 21:25

do you know any rugby teams who could shift car or someone with a large van that could tow it onto the road?
