CF parking thread - picture included

Saturday night causally watching TV and some CF has parked on my driveway not only getting so close to my gate to my front door but blocked my car in as it's parked in front of the garage.

DP is livid as the ring doorbell has decided to die of battery so we can't see who it is or if they a) went into one of the houses who's back gardens go into the alley/road or b) someone that's gone into the pub despite the car park being empty.

We've checked and the cars not been taxed since October 2019!

My DP is currently sat with the blinds open waiting for whoever it is to come back but I'm pretty sure it's been abandoned for the night whilst someone has a drink or two.... so MN, how long do we think they will park here, who do we think it is and what entertainment might arise Grin

Glad your dp stuck up for you both. Its not for anyone to decide you are not going out! What happens if there was an emergency and you did have to leave or if you had friends round for a drink and you were driving them home? CF. I hope your dh does have a word tomorrow and I hope he is suitably ashamed.

letmebefrank · 08/02/2020 22:44

Wow. I'd make sure he knows his threat to harass you via his parking going forward was all caught on camera. Cowardly arsehole thought he was picking on a lone woman...

Yabadee · 08/02/2020 22:46

Big muscle man in peppa pig lounge pants. Thread just gets better. Did he have them back on when he was squaring up to the neighbour?

Goingwiththeflow2019 · 08/02/2020 22:46

He's going to show him the ring footage if he starts denying his behaviour because we've just watched it back and it's vile. No point in it does DP raise his voice or become abusive but is calm, collective and repeatedly asks him to stop shouting for a conversation to be had (despite how enraged he was earlier!)

One of the older neighbours was woken up by this man shouting. He came to his back gate so DP went over to see if he's ok/let him know it's alright our end and DN let us know the CCTV camera he has on his garage covers ours/where my car is parked incase any drunk antics happen later. It would have also captured drunk woman stumbling to her car and driving away.

If the alley is mostly empty it’s really odd they didn’t park there..

MrKlaw · 08/02/2020 22:50

Your DP sounds great. Can just picture the other guy being a little worse for wear and hopefully more apologetic tomorrow

Goingwiththeflow2019 · 08/02/2020 22:50

@Yabadee He was just about to put them on when I answered the door. I don't think he would have lived it down answering the door in them to drunk man/CF. He reluctantly answers the door to parcels if he's them on so tends to only wear them when he's 'settled for the night'.

For PP asking where they were from for an upcoming Peopa World trip - I found them on Etsy for the whole family to wear matching ones Wink

God, where do you live? That's extreme.

PanamaPattie · 08/02/2020 22:50

They probably didn't see the alley as they were too pissed.

CripsSandwiches · 08/02/2020 22:51

Good on DP, handled it really well. What bloody idiots those people are.

NeonSalamanda · 08/02/2020 22:57

Did your DP walk out the door towards them? Why didn't you just close the door to deescalate the situation?

Fuckbrexit · 08/02/2020 22:59

I'm loving the image of your giant muscly husband being furious at CF parking while in peppa pig lounge shorts Grin

Sporty99 · 08/02/2020 23:00

I'm imagining a Chris Hemsworth type in Peppa Pig shorts now.

NachoNachoMan · 08/02/2020 23:00

I hope Storm Ciara doesn't blow a big rock through the front windscreen...

Goingwiththeflow2019 · 08/02/2020 23:05

@NeonSalamanda I hadn't even fully opened the door when he begun shouting. DP was at the door in less than a minute & went to stand more in the doorframe/on the step as when the door was open fully, this guy was particularly cms away from being able to enter my hallway.

@thenightsky we live in a little village but 15 miles to other towns which have high crime rates unfortunately! It's normally extremely quite and our local FB group contains 'lost chickens', awareness of break ins in nearby towns or asking people to refrain from feeding the horses in the fields. First bit of drama we've ever had here.

Report to the police again. The threats and the drink driving. Especially with 2 types of video evidence.

Weenurse · 08/02/2020 23:09

Settles in for update...
I have chocolate covered peanuts if anyone wants some?

This, big time. What a bunch of tossers.

latheritup · 08/02/2020 23:12

Also settling in for future updates Grin

JayWayney · 08/02/2020 23:13

Are these new neighbours, OP? I'm guessing in a village like you describe most people would know or know of each other.

What a night! If there's any more trouble from them, that footage will be very useful. Maybe, with the state of them, they won't remember much.

MyHairIsSoapy · 08/02/2020 23:18

I’d update the police again tomorrow and you have footage, they clearly drove home drunk and think nothing of it.
Report away to the DVLA for no car tax.
I want to buy a ring doorbell now! Which one do you have?

whatsleep · 08/02/2020 23:27

I’m guessing that even video footage showing them appearing to be drunk wouldn’t be enough to charge them. They’d need to catch them in the car and breathalyse the driver, or caution them and then take a blood test. The law sucks sometimes 😡

whataballbag · 08/02/2020 23:37

I'm swooning at your hero DP in his peppa lounge shorts

JediJim · 08/02/2020 23:38

So the women have moved the car from your drive and ordered a taxi? .. Hopefully this is a one off. Interesting to see if this neighbour says anything tomorrow.. he owes you a massive apology.!
I’d be inclined to leave at that as a one off but certainly wouldn’t allow this to happen again.
I presume they were sober when they parked the car so it’s beyond belief that they thought they could just park the car outside someone else’s driveway blocking their car in!

AbsinthedelaBonchance · 08/02/2020 23:43

No a breathalyser is only required to prosecute for driving over the limit. For driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs other evidence can suffice - smell of booze on breath, obvious drunkenness plus erratic driving
