Does anyone else really hate cannabis?

I feel like it’s a really unpopular view at the moment with the age old come back that it’s natural and better than drinking.

But i just really hate it. I hate the smell, I’m not a fan of hanging around people who are high, I really hate the idea of people smoking it in and around my property.

When I met my partner he didn’t smoke it but now he does. Aibu for hating him smoking it?

I honestly don't know how to feel about it. I tried it a few times as a teenager, but stopped as it made me feel anxious. Never smoke it again after my first and only panic attack happened when stoned.

Some of my friends carried on smoking regularly. 25 years later, most outgrew it or only smoke very occasionally now. A few became heavy smokers - my ex bf dropped out of multiple college courses, stopped going out and got stoned all the time. He quit eventually and had to undo a decade of wasting his life to get qualified and a decent career/life again. I know a few like him.

Two brothers who were my best friends as teens both developed severe mental health issues after smoking heavily for a couple of years, encouraged by their hippy 'it's natural! Not like nasty chemical drugs!' parents. The eldest developed schizophrenia, was hospitalised repeatedly and committed suicide. The youngest developed bipolar, had also been hospitalised a few times and only got himself stable and at uni in his 30s when he quit weed. Mental health issues were prevalent in their wider family (grandparents committed suicide with depression, an uncle was bipolar and killed himself) so what their parents were thinking encouraging them to smoke weed I have no idea. So sad, even the coroner at the eldest's inquest strongly blamed cannabis psychosis for his death.

But I also know people who take it for pain or symptom relief, only use it when needed, not to get high, and have weaned themselves off morphine etc now. It seems to work wonders for some. Don't think it's for me, though.
