Crusty bread, real butter and jam, as a rare treat 😋

I cant remember the last time I had jam! I went to the shop for croissants and jam but they didn't have any croissants so I got crusty bread and apricot jam.

It was delicious.

YANBU but with marmalade 😋

Strawberry jam for me. Anyone having marmalade on untoasted bread is a heathen.

I was going to have toast but have to do it in the oven and couldn't be arsed to wait for it 🐖

Raspberry jam for me but my favourite breakfast is crispy salty bacon, Brie and cranberry panini.

I need to get some crusty bread. I always used to buy a loaf in Tesco until the stopped wrapping it and left it open for everyone to touch and cough and sneeze over.

Oooo, apricot jam! One of the best things about staying in hotels on business as they always had apricot jam. It seemed very exotic at the time (still does).

Toast burnt cold with butter and raspberry jam in the week and instant coffee black.
Toasted bagel with Philadelphia and crispy bacon and proper coffee with cream for me at weekend-bliss.

My favourite breakfast is my dad's home made bread (which I think anyone could make, including me if I could be bothered haha) with bacon and brown sauce.. toasted ofc.

One of the things i miss most about England (now living in USA) is proper British butter. In the last couple of years, I have started to be able to find it but its mingingly expensive. Every time I come back to visit my parents I ask them to get in my favourite brown bread, butter and raspberry jam and I have it for breakfast every day.

Good bread (toasted), unsalted butter, apricot jam, and the kind of ham and cheese you get at continental breakfast buffets. Ooh and a good frothy coffee. Lush. These days my bread has to be gluten free but it still works (just).

Basically any fresh crusty bread and real butter is the food of the Gods (at any time).

Why would it be a rare treat?
