Crusty bread, real butter and jam, as a rare treat 😋

I cant remember the last time I had jam! I went to the shop for croissants and jam but they didn't have any croissants so I got crusty bread and apricot jam.

It was delicious.

I have found my people. This is my most favourite of threads. I love breakfast so much I will often have it for my dinner. Grin

The freshest of white bread from the bakery with proper salted butter is a thing of beauty. I love most of the foods mentioned this bread, I mean thread with the exception of:

Marmite and Avocados

They can fuck off.

Depending on if I am at work, it's a weekend or I'm on an actual holiday the quality of my breakfast goes up depending on the situation. Can't beat a good bacon sandwich, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. Frech toast if I can get it (can't be arsed to make it). If I happen to be in a hotel (work or leisure) I have been known to eat a 3-course breakfast

Little chef mushroom and cheese omelette with sauté potatoes and baked beans. I so miss Little Chef!

Very French, if it was baguette, but best ever? Mmmmnnnn not sure.

Seatoski finlandia the gold packs is very like British butter. And artisano bread by sara lee is pretty close to a basic british white sliced loaf... slightly sweeter, but not by american standards

I'm back off the bread. Yesterday I didn't have breakfast and today I'll have bacon and eggs 😋

Butter and jam 🤢

DotBall · 12/02/2020 21:02

I love looking in the cupboard while my toast is doing and choosing what to put on it.

I make my own jam, so currently have strawberry, raspberry, apple, crabapple (our tree), blackberry, blackberry/raspberry/blueberry mix and home made rough marmalade on ha d. As well as runny and set honey.

I planted a blackcurrant bush last year but it takes a while for them to fruit...impatient, I wanna be using them currants!

SW16 · 12/02/2020 21:09

OP: for your breakfast it needs to be sourdough bread, cold unsalted French butter and apricot jam.

With fresh coffee.

SpaceDinosaur · 12/02/2020 22:02

How is apricot jam exotic?!!! How?!!

It's literally the glue in cake making i have some in the baking cupboard all the time 😂

SW16 · 13/02/2020 18:17

SpaceDinosaur LOL not the stuff you spread on cakes under the icing!

The stuff that has big chunks of proper apricot in it, is fragrant and fruity and costs a lot. Actually it probably says Apricot conserve or preserve on the label, and might be French. Needs to be kept in the fridge because if it’s fruit : sugar ratio.

Not exotic, just nice.

easyandy101 · 13/02/2020 18:22

Left over takeaway curry, side dish and rice, in a frying pan

That's the best breakfast

Bread and jam is worthy but decidedly average

MaidenMotherCrone · 13/02/2020 18:33

MacDonalds breakfast wrap with brown sauce and an orange juice. Yum.

All the other recommendations are just everyday stuff. Maccies though..... that is a treat indeed. I'm having it tomorrow. Can't wait.

Dieu · 14/02/2020 01:49

I'm not sure why this would be considered a rare treat!
