Thank god we are only a few hours away from being a free and independent and a global outlooking country! Happy VEU day everyone!!
Let's all join together, enjoy and celebrate our victory over antidemocracy and enjoy our new found and hard fought freedom!!

I'm just hoping that now that it's finally being "done", everyone will be able to focus on other things, and that the division of the people will eventually fade away. (I may be a bit optimistic here. Blush)

BritneyPeedOnALadybug · 31/01/2020 09:56

@Villanomme

Like I said in the last similar thread on this subject, you, as a remainer, didn’t know what you were voting for either. You have no idea where the EU is going to be in 5, 10, or 50 years time, so that argument “leavers didn’t know what they were voting for” doesn’t wash with me.

In any event, you sound like someone that will turn every point into a political/Brexit one so I have no doubt you’ll find yourself “proven right” when there is a bit of bad news reported, whether it’s directly because of Brexit or not.

JustHereWithMyPopcorn · 31/01/2020 09:58

@MaxNormal love that poem.

Alsohuman · 31/01/2020 09:59

So pleased you’re owning it, OP. I wonder if there will still be celebrations in five years’ time.

ballsdeep · 31/01/2020 09:59

We are with you Nige 🙄🧐🤪

Oulu · 31/01/2020 10:00

Errm, I hate to rain on your parade, OP, but I think you need to have a look at the transition arrangements. You'll discover that we're anything but free and independent.

AndThenThereWereSeven · 31/01/2020 10:00

Yeah, right 🙄

Motherclucker01 · 31/01/2020 10:00

Good luck Britain, you’re likely going to need it!

It’s lucky Brits are happy about leaving because at the moment pretty much the whole wider world is swinging between laughter and pity!

YouTheCat · 31/01/2020 10:01

Enjoy your chlorinated, American chicken!

Oulu · 31/01/2020 10:02

We will no longer be dictated to by unelected and unaccountable beaurocrats.

Oh dear, more disappointment for you, OP. Have a look at Dominic Cummings, the amount of influence he has, and check out who elected him.

AlexaShutUp · 31/01/2020 10:03

Oh dear, I really thought that this was satire, but the OP says not.

There is nothing to celebrate tonight. It's a terrible day for our country. Never have I felt more ashamed to be British.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 31/01/2020 10:06

I'm a Remainer but respect all views. Have to say though I think people who are having a party to celebrate are quite sad.

opticaldelusion · 31/01/2020 10:06

The EU is still shaming us with its dignified and kindly approach, showing us up for the small-minded idiots we are.

backaftera2yearbreak · 31/01/2020 10:06

Hopefully it’s just one step closer to Scottish Independence. Then we too can be free from you lot that voted for it 🙄

Mia1415 · 31/01/2020 10:09

I can't see anything to be happy about to be honest.

bravotango · 31/01/2020 10:12

Good god I hope this is a joke. OP's username alone is making me cringe

SilverySurfer · 31/01/2020 10:12

WitchQueenofDarkness
Got the champagne ready to crack open at 11pm tonight

That shows a great deal of self control, mine will be open a great deal earlier Grin

slashlover · 31/01/2020 10:13

Happy Exit Day - I'm so excited, it's been too long a wait but here we are. Hope everyone is stocked up with champagne.

To everyone saying they have champagne...surely you mean sparkling British Cava or something?

‘Twill be the 1950’s once more!!! Hurrah!!!

A4Document · 31/01/2020 10:17

will take great delight in telling every single person I know that voted for this "told you so, now fuck the fuck off". And I hope every one of the selfish fuckers will put themselves to the back of NHS queues and first in the line when their company makes redundancies. Because they chose this.

And if you're wrong and it all goes well, will you take back your aggressive comments and decline everything positive which results from Brexit?

BercowsFlyingFlamingo · 31/01/2020 10:17

Is that French champagne? Or have you bought some British fizz?

SilverySurfer · 31/01/2020 10:18

No, mine is champagne but I also enjoy a good English sparkling wine, which is about as far from Cava as you can get.

A couple of years ago an English sparkling beat French champagne in a blind tasting in Paris so it won't be a hardship.

Damntheman · 31/01/2020 10:19

It's only real Brexit-champagne if it's from somewhere in Britain, otherwise it's just sparkling idiocy ;)

SilverySurfer · 31/01/2020 10:20

Whatever it is, I shall be drinking a lot of it Grin
