You can be as proud as you want and fly the EU flag but it won't change anything. Scotland is still leaving the EU.

DappledThings · 29/01/2020 18:11

Like it. Makes me wish I was Scottish too.

I live on the East Kent coast and according to the local FB group people are going to gather on the cliff on Friday and toot their car horns at the same time hoping to be loud enough to be heard in France. Wankers.

Isawthathaggis · 29/01/2020 18:15

Well done to the Scottish Government.
I’m very proud

smemorata · 29/01/2020 18:16

@DappledThings But is that in support of leaving or in support of the EU??

ssd · 29/01/2020 18:16

@Geminijes, watch this space....

Definitely in supporting of leaving I'm afraid. Clear from other comments made by the same person.

More cheeringly it started with a post from someone asking if there was a celebration planned. 220 comments later and the overwhelming majority were people saying there was nothing to celebrate. When those who were in favour were asked for a single benefit to leaving not one was forthcoming. What a fucking surprise.

smemorata · 29/01/2020 18:20

Hopefully if they do hear it in France they will think the opposite!

thiscouldbethehill · 29/01/2020 18:20

Scottish and proud here 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇪🇺

Shoxfordian · 29/01/2020 18:21

Its fine but Scotland is still leaving the EU with the rest of the UK.

I hope so! Mostly I hope only 2 sad twats turn up so nobody hears it!

catlady3 · 29/01/2020 18:23

Good on ya indeed. Solidarity from London.

lowlandLucky · 29/01/2020 18:25

The SNP need to stop acting like children and stop wasting tax payers money and get on with the job they are paid to do. You would think life was so wonderful, that Scotland had no problems to sort.

TheThingWithFeathers · 29/01/2020 18:25

We won't be out for long!

No shit, Sherlocks. Hmm

Meggie2008 · 29/01/2020 18:28

And is that achieving anything apart from us looking like a bunch of fuds? No. But I suppose the SNP are good at making us look like that.

ExEUCitizen · 29/01/2020 18:32

A bunch of duds? No. Speaking for a significant part of the British population, English, Welsh, Northern Ireland and Scottish. Thanks for existing Scotland, the only voice left that can still remind us there are alternatives to this lying right-wing stranglehold in Westminster.

Newmetoday · 29/01/2020 18:32

Just makes them look pathetic. Wants independence from England but run by the EU (not that they’d get in, mind you) Fine logic there.

Horrible party

ExEUCitizen · 29/01/2020 18:32

Fuds! Stupid autocorrect.

yogafailure · 29/01/2020 18:38

Well.said @Meggie2008

ssd · 29/01/2020 18:40

I don't see anyone looking like a fud. We voted overwhelmingly to stay in the EU and are being forced to leave. Utterly undemocratic. But we'll get independence yet, it's just a waiting game now.
Scotland has always been a more socialist country than England. The right wing media have convinced Joe Bloggs in his run down, austerity hit town that the government that has been in power for ten years and has made his standard of living much worse, is on his side. Sorry, but us Scots see bullshit a mile off. That's why the tories will never win up here. We may have our own problems, life is not a bed of roses for a lot of people here, but those of us doing OK don't shun others needing help. We'd rather pay a bit more tax to help others than ask where their families are and why should the government take care of the vulnerable? And me and dh aren't high earners at all either.

All part of the independence long game. Any opportunity to reinforce the SNP rhetoric that Scotland is very different and separate to the rest of the UK. (By which they mean England, they don't mention Wales or NI).

LagunaBubbles · 29/01/2020 18:43

Horrible party

And yet still they get voted in as the Scottish Government eh. Wink

PineappleDanish · 29/01/2020 18:44

But they are being constrained by the "Toaries" and the Westmonster government! They are taking all of Scotland's resources and giving a pittance in return! In an independent Scotland with Queen Nicola on her throne, no-one will pay any tax and we'll be the richest nation in Europe, nay the world! Hmm
