AIBU to stick a massive sign on CF car parked in my space?

I live in a small private estate. We have big signs everywhere saying it's private parking and permits only and an enforcement company that comes round. However this never deters people and they never seem to get caught with a ticket! I have one parking space. Which is numbered. It is clearly NOT a visitors parking space nor a space for random people to park in.

WIBU to print a massive poster sized sign and saying it's not their space and not to park there to put on the car for all to see? Because I currently can't park in my own space and am risking a parking fine myself by not being parked within a marked bay even with a permit. I've had to put a note on my car explaining that a car I don't know is in my space without permission just in case.

Do it.

Also, is there a management company or building manager? I’d be reporting this to them as well and making sure that they know that you couldn’t park in your space.

needmoresleep1 · 20/01/2020 10:03

I would! In fact I'd print off several and put them on every window!!

Chocolatemice · 20/01/2020 10:03

When people use my parking space, I always put a note on the car. This even resulted in someone running out to move from my neighbours parking space Grin.

ChristmasSweet · 20/01/2020 10:06

I would park behind it with a note on mine saying that I can't park in my space as the knob in it can't read.

BruceAndNosh · 20/01/2020 10:08

Rock the car to set the alarmmoff

Ahdjdkfbdixbsk · 20/01/2020 10:08

I think the best advice I've read on here is a very large sign so it can't be missed, with lots of pritt stick type glue to make sure it doesn't blow off.

Whynosnowyet · 20/01/2020 10:08

Use lots of sellotape op.
Ime it's very effective...

DanceItOut · 20/01/2020 10:09

I unfortunately can't park behind it as I would be unsafely parked in the road on a blind corner. However I have stuck a note on it now. If it's still there when my husband returns home he will block it in with his work van with flashing lights on so it can be seen. (We do opposite shifts so don't have two vehicles home at once during enforcement hours).

Can you park behind it blocking it in, then go out for the day?

DanceItOut · 20/01/2020 10:11

One note for now. If it doesn't move soon I will add another and another and another

Vaseline is a pain in the arse to shift but leaves no damage.

discoo · 20/01/2020 10:13

Good for you OP! CF. What does the note say? I can't quite make it out on my phone.

KittenVsBox · 20/01/2020 10:15

I think you need a short message on the front windscreen as well - in red lipstick.

Reginabambina · 20/01/2020 10:15

If you don’t need to stay at home I’d just set the alarm off.

Glittertwins · 20/01/2020 10:16

Are you able to call the management company out and have a clamp out on it? I know this doesn't help get the car shifted quickly but it will deter them. I've done that before when someone parked across both my numbered spaces!

Hugsgalore · 20/01/2020 10:17

Stick one to every window

DanceItOut · 20/01/2020 10:18

Note says. This is not your parking space. I now cannot use my space because you are in it. This vehicle has been photographed and reported to the parking enforcement company. If it is not moved quickly it will be blocked in.

DanceItOut · 20/01/2020 10:18

I have reported it to parking people

I do actually have to go out in about an hour so if it's still there I might try rocking it or something to see if I can set the alarm off

Thedeadwood · 20/01/2020 10:26

I wouldn’t try setting its alarm off. The owner probably won’t know and you’ll just disturb everyone else.
But I sympathise entirely with your frustration.

DowntownAbby · 20/01/2020 10:26

You need to stick it on the windscreen in from of the driver's seat. With very sticky glue!

It will take them ages to remove it.

They'll just throw your current notice away, because CFs don't care what you think. If they cared they wouldn't have parked there to start with.

croprotationinthe13thcentury · 20/01/2020 10:27

Is there cctv? If not just key it 🤗

SerendipityJane · 20/01/2020 10:27

21 messages and no mention of penguin bollards ?

dognamedspot · 20/01/2020 10:29

Don't stick anything on the windscreen with "sticky glue". Don't do anything that makes the car unsafe to drive or it could backfire on you. Are you allowed to put a fold-down bollard in your space?

mdh2020 · 20/01/2020 10:31

I hope you glued the notice on the windscreen so it is difficult for them to get it off
