There’s a Maori village near Rotarura in NEw Zealand called Whakarewarewa. In Maori the “wh” is pronounced with an “f” sound, which makes it even more satisfying to say.

My friend used to live in Matamata, and another in Whangamata. They’re all so nice to say Grin

Pinkarsedfly · 11/01/2020 06:07

Bradford has Idle which is home to The Idle Working men’s club and also Fanny’s (a pub and a street name) The pub has a discreet collage in one of the back rooms and when you look closely it’s made up of loads of tiny pictures of Fanny’s 😃

imamearcat · 11/01/2020 07:47

Penistone. All though I never realised when I lived there!

ArDali1 · 11/01/2020 07:52

HeronLanyon · 11/01/2020 07:53

Driving through Lower Dicker you quickly come to Upper Dicker. Somewhere near Eastbourne I think.

polkadotpixie · 11/01/2020 07:55

Water Ma Trout in Cornwall is my favourite

I used to have a customer there and giggled to myself every time I wrote the envelope

MrOnionsBumperRoller · 11/01/2020 07:56

EoinMcLovesCakeJumper · 11/01/2020 08:27

AlexaAmbidextra there was one of those in York too. It was renamed Grape Lane some time in the 19th century, I think, and is now home to many chi chi eateries and a bridal shop Grin

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 11/01/2020 08:39

IIRC there’s a Bouzy in France. Whether in the midst of vineyards I don’t know.
Fucking is a clear winner, though.

Curlyshabtree · 11/01/2020 08:50

There is the Karawanks tunnel on the Austrian/Slovenian border.

Medicine Hat in Canada makes me laugh. Where is Medicine Hat? On Medicine’s head!

TeetotalKoala · 11/01/2020 08:58

I'm in Wiltshire and near me is the village of Tiddlywink (which I see already got a mention), and also a village called The Shoe. Both tiny.
We also have a big village called Box and recently I senty husband a link to a house on Rightmove suggesting that we move to Honeyknob Hill (nice house actually, just a bit too rural for me).

No mention of Lake Titicaca in Peru?!

BikeRunSki · 11/01/2020 09:03

We had a fabulous lunch in the village of Urine, near Morzine in France.

There’s Friendly near Halifax. Unfortunately last time I went there the weather was hideous, and I could barely stand up due to overwhelming hyperemisis, so I didn’t really enjoy my pie and peas at the Friendly Cricket Club.

stripeypillowcase · 11/01/2020 09:23

No mention of Lake Titicaca in Peru?!
