It does sound like they might be escaping from the public scrutiny and online abuse.

I think it’s very sensible step for them. The royals are independently wealthy already, and there is no reason they can’t carve out a path for themselves. We have other grandchildren of the Queen already doing this. The duke of Sussex is far down the succession line that he isn’t going to be king anyway.

Abuse has been awful but those people who are guilty will insist it's not racism it's because she one wore dark nail polish and didn't give the public front row seats of her giving birth.

She has also been vilified (allegedly) for not wearing tights.

He inherited from Diana. Now you could argue that any wealth held by the aristocracy was also stolen from the people but it’s money that is separate to the Civil List.

If you already inherited £20 million from your mother I should imagine independent wealth would not need to be worked towards?

The crown estates are accounted for separately, they own estates privately too. Harry got 12m im inheritance from Dianna in 1997, worth well over 30 mil now.

So maybe they won't have too much trouble supporting themselves financially.
