Indulge me... DH and I have enjoyed ourselves today thinking of random words that could be names Grin A bit like when Uncle Fester said Dementia was a beautiful name. DH thinks Nausea could be lovely.

Maleana is a beautiful name for a bleddy awful symptom!
It's extremely offensive, bloody diarrhoea for those who are wondering!

Ampersand would be nice . When pregnant we liked Isis (as in the Egyptian goddess of life and magic). Glad we didn't use it and used something else. Did later read of a girl born same year who was called Isis.

The best name I ever heard was Fanny Grippa. She was 80 and had married a Polish guy, just after the war.

minionsrule · 05/01/2020 18:24

I threatened to name DS Boddington Grin

Ambridgedweller · 05/01/2020 18:25

Audi Murphy was a famous film star.

Stressybetty · 05/01/2020 18:33

Heard of Zephyrus given as a boys name, I quite liked it and used it for my star wars character's name!

Nooooooooo....... I call bs. On the strength of once going on a date with a registrar who said he had to refuse registration of a name that was similarly daft on grounds of it being offensive.

Really? Not just a local urban legend?

MerryMarigold · 05/01/2020 19:18

Cif is a great name, not only Unisex but also pan European, maybe even Global.

Jaci08 · 05/01/2020 19:20

My friend is called Jean and I try - and fail badly - to not greet her with ‘Hi Jean!’

itsnotjustmethen · 05/01/2020 19:53

Imipramine is something my son takes, could be imi for short or minnie, also quite like Radox for a boy and Ulna for a girl.
Love the pp of Bonjella Grin

CatteStreet · 05/01/2020 19:56

Ampersand is a very distinguished choice. Sibling (brother I think) to Hyphen, Tilde and Cedilla.

TiddlestheCat · 05/01/2020 19:57

Fellatio has a nice Shakespearean ring to it.

Lovely13 · 05/01/2020 19:57

Off my head on pregnancy hormones, I thought Candia would be a nice name for a girl. Luckily it was a boy.
I also had an imaginary horse as a child called Reginald as I thought it sounded splendid.

TiddlestheCat · 05/01/2020 19:59

Off topic, but I once knew a chap called Paul Mycock.

Bibble for a boy with Bibby as a nickname could be interesting.

Purplealienpuke · 05/01/2020 20:20

I know of a boy called Hill.
A man called Aìnus.
A girl (I dont know the woman now so unsure if she changed her name) Kia Beetle.

thesunhasgothishatontoday · 05/01/2020 20:36

@cwenthryth no seriously it was called Chlamydia. It was a teenage pregnancy and she registered it before mum could stop her. I believe they shortened it to Mydi x
