Jolyon Maugham QC stating on twitter that he has clubbed to death a fox rather than calling for help to free it from netting in his garden.

This one, TheTinselrati?

AutumnRose1
Devereux1 why did you think he was losing the plot a few days ago?

I wrote it because I was finding his behaviour and tweets so troubling that I thought something wasn't right.

Now, sickenly, I know it's not.

SolarSue · 27/12/2019 12:39

It's the way he posted about it that gets to me. What type of sicko posts about doing that!

GeordieTerf · 27/12/2019 13:04

I have to know: how do you pronounce “Jolyon”? Is it like “Julian”?

Devereux1 · 27/12/2019 13:50

Joe-leigh-on.
Or I prefer the pronounciation of sick prick.

Drabarni · 27/12/2019 13:51

Nah, won't be illegal soon, the Cons are bringing fox hunting back, it's in the manifesto.
hardly surprising the toffs want their hunting back.

koshkat · 27/12/2019 14:03

In my experience it is not really the 'toffs' that are rabid about bringing back hunting. Many sinister 'ordinary' individuals are involved in hunt activities - most of which they do not want people to know about - and these are the most vocal in my area about supporting the hunt.

Pan2 · 27/12/2019 14:03

I'd suspect any prosecution would be difficult as they would have to prove beyond reasonable doubt that his actions were not to avoid further unnecessary suffering for the fox, but fell short of that. Given he contacted the RSPCA and he is the only witness, this would be mighty tricky....

still.....chronic posting about your wife's kimono is distinctly odd.

koshkat · 27/12/2019 14:08

If there is actually a body that is...I am clinging to the hope that he is sick enough to pretend that he and his kimono had this bloody adventure together and that it is not true.

PencilsInSpace · 27/12/2019 14:15

Well I think some of you are being unneccessarily mean.

Poor Jo was simply taking his usual early morning perambulation around the garden, in his wife's 'too small' kimono, with his baseball bat, 'looking for foxes'. It's sheer bad luck that this time there was an actual fox. It's like when dogs chase cars - how was he supposed to know what to do with one if he actually caught it?

His only crime here is forgetting that whereas people don't give the tiniest shit about women, they really really care about animals.

JamieVardysHavingAParty · 27/12/2019 14:27

I think we should crowdfund for a Kimono of Jolyon Maugham's Own.

koshkat · 27/12/2019 14:39

One that is slightly too small and gapes open a little at the front perchance?

Pan2 · 27/12/2019 14:40

Perv.

Gibbonsgibbonsgibbons · 27/12/2019 14:41

I’m surprised “Transchickens are Chickens” isn’t trending...

SquireOfGreenway · 27/12/2019 15:44

The only thing that I find shocking about this story is that he's obviously not a bleedin' heart Liberal snowflake and yet he is a Remoaner Shock.

I'd be happy to see all urban foxes beaten to death with a baseball bat, along with all rats and grey squirrels. Other vermin destruction techniques are available - but full marks to Jolyon for his contribution so far.

koshkat · 27/12/2019 15:50

Well that's you outed as a complete dick then.

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily · 27/12/2019 19:12

Personally I’d have more time for the rats, than I would for any odious creature that wishes to beat ANY creature to death,

Moondancer73 · 27/12/2019 19:24

@Jonb6 having the fix in his hen house - which he didn't - doesn't justify cold blooded murder. What a truly nasty, spiteful, unpleasant person you must be.

ForalltheSaints · 27/12/2019 19:24

I am disappointed that around 80 of you are so uncaring about animals. Pleased that the rest of you share my view that he should be prosecuted.

Moondancer73 · 27/12/2019 19:24

*fox

Jonb6 · 27/12/2019 20:20

@Moondancer73 well I certainly don't have a problem dispatching animals although I do draw the line at eating them.

Jonb6 · 27/12/2019 20:25

. . . I mean bloody hell, listen to yourself, there are children being beaten, raped and murdered in this country . . . suggesting what this bloke did to a fox is akin to murder is so stupid, save your crocodile tears for something that really matters Crown Wink

KareyHunt · 27/12/2019 20:38

Pleased that the rest of you share my view that he should be prosecuted.

There's no point in prosecuting someone unless they've broken the law!

Jonb6 · 27/12/2019 20:44

Seriously those on here who think this fox had an awful death by being hit over the head with a baseball bat should go and observe in an abbatoir for an hour or two, because the fox definitely got the better deal by being hit over the head. There are some awful things going on with animals and this really isn't one of them.

Dangerfloof · 27/12/2019 20:49

Y'know we can be horrified at more than one thing at a time right?
I can be upset that a moron killed a fox unnecessarily, AND be upset about children and women being beaten, raped and murdered, AND at the same time be concerned about a lack of clean water in undeveloped countries AND .... you get the idea.
