What's your ultimate 'comforting hug' film?

I've got a mild hangover after Christmas drinks last night, DH has his works Christmas do tonight and I cannot wait just to snuggle on the sofa in my PJ's with a pizza once DS is in bed.

I want to watch an old familiar film which I've seen before, which I don't have to concentrate on and which will sooth my achy post hangover body.

What is your top re-watch film for situations like this? My brain is too frazzled to think!!

About Time. A perfect film.

The Holiday. Its just so cheesy, with moments of wonderfulness.

And by with my kids, I mean I pretend it's for them but really it's me who's the only one who is watching

MrsFionaCharming · 06/12/2019 19:05

Paddington 2. Also Paddington 1, but I think it’s one of the rare films where the sequel is better.

confusedrn · 06/12/2019 19:06

When Harry Met Sally. Not a wasted word or look in the entire beauty of a film! I adore it!!

Allington · 06/12/2019 19:07

Roman Holiday.

With Gregory Peck [sigh] and a young Audrey Hepburn...

Another vote for While You Were Sleeping. Perfect blend of humor and schmaltz.

whatsinthebagwhatcoulditbe · 06/12/2019 19:14

I came on to say "About Time" too. It's such a lovely, silly, funny, moving film and a total comfort watch.

Also the Merchant Ivory productions of A Room With A View and Howard's End. They are so beautiful and well-acted.

FenellaMaxwell · 06/12/2019 19:20

About Time
Little Women

bsc · 06/12/2019 19:32

Knights Tale
Ten Things I Hate about You
Sahara
National Treasure

I could watch any of those over and over.

All the above plus

French Kiss 😘

Disfordarkchocolate · 06/12/2019 19:41

Muppet Christmas Carol, it always fills me with joy. If I still had a copy of the cartoon Beauty and the Beast that would count too.
