What's your ultimate 'comforting hug' film?

I've got a mild hangover after Christmas drinks last night, DH has his works Christmas do tonight and I cannot wait just to snuggle on the sofa in my PJ's with a pizza once DS is in bed.

I want to watch an old familiar film which I've seen before, which I don't have to concentrate on and which will sooth my achy post hangover body.

What is your top re-watch film for situations like this? My brain is too frazzled to think!!

Die Hard or Die Hard 2 I just love Bruce Willis, it's christmassy enough without making me emotional. Failing that Bridget Jones.

Baby Boom with Diane Keaton, there's something about the apple sauce I find very comforting.

At this time of year, Muppets Christmas Carol. At any other time of year, Muppets Treasure Island, Labyrinth or Muppets Movie. I love the muppets and it always reminds me of being tucked up on the sofa with my Dad after bathtime on a Sunday evening. It’s the ultimate snuggly comfort watch.

30daysoflight · 06/12/2019 16:47

Totally agree with High Spirits, Shirley Valentine and It's A Wonderful Life.
One of my favourite feel good films is Cousins with Isabella Rossillini and Ted Danson.

Weirdly; the Day after Tomorrow. It makes me feel so cosy that I'm not going through that, and has a lovely happy ending... Blush well sort of!
