VG/Prince Andrew - to say I wasn’t sure before but I believe her

churchandstate · 03/12/2019 07:05

I posted in a thread after the Prince Andrew interview, and although I didn’t believe him about everything he said, I wasn’t wholly convinced at that time that he was lying about sleeping with young girls, about seeing things in Epstein’s houses that should have repelled him, about having sex with Virginia Roberts in particular. I just didn’t think there was certainty to be had.

I am convinced now. I believed every word she was allowed to say last night and I am only sad they didn’t give her more air time. Prince Andrew has very serious questions to answer.

I haven’t seen either interview, I don’t believe in trial by Media. My question is why, if there is evidence hasn’t she gone to the police? Or taken out a private prosecution and had a trial by judge and jury so in fact it’s all done in the open, with a court ordered punishment if found guilty?

Passthecherrycoke · 03/12/2019 09:07

Only with HINDSIGHT AND THE RECENT #metoo revelations thanks butchy. I’m well aware her legal cases were well before #metoo

CheshireChat · 03/12/2019 09:08

NailsNeedDoing that's a really disgusting comment and completely ignores the impact of abuse.

Iggly · 03/12/2019 09:08

These are very powerful and rich people she is tangled up in.

People are naive if they think that the law applies equally to every one in the world. It doesn’t. If you have enough money, then you can get away with more things than if you don’t. Unless the media gets hold of it and make it difficult to go away.

RonaldMcDonald · 03/12/2019 09:09

I don’t know what questions he has to answer over VA
He has simple deniability that he knew she was trafficked ( I’m really unsure how we can ever prove he ‘knew’ )
She was over 16

He has questions to answer over his dogged determination to remain friends with Epstein

MilkTrayLimeBarrel · 03/12/2019 09:09

I don't like or trust either of them, to be frank. Three points I would like to make:-

  1. 'Steady, unwavering eye contact' is a sign of guilt just as gaze shifting and eye avoidance is.
  2. I can't get over the fact that she looks very happy in the picture of her and Andrew.
  3. Why on earth would Andrew allow the picture to be taken if he even half guessed what might happen if it was ever published?
twosoups1972 · 03/12/2019 09:09

I'm still undecided. I really want to believe her but her interview didn't seem convincing and when she cried it didn't seem genuine - it looked liked she was TRYING to make herself cry.

And the photo of her with PA - dd noticed a strange line next to PA's left side. I don't think the photo is genuine.

Passthecherrycoke · 03/12/2019 09:10
  1. I can't get over the fact that she looks very happy in the picture of her and Andrew.

Why does that matter to you?

LaurieMarlow · 03/12/2019 09:10

Is the the British or Saudi royal family for fucks sake?

For the purposes of this kind of thing, there probably isn’t much difference. The rest of the world is going to tread so carefully before demanding evidence from the British Royal Family.

ChristmasAngst · 03/12/2019 09:10

Sleeping with a 17 year old may not be illegal, but in these circumstances it is reprehensible. The thing Ic an't get out of my head was when she said she had a very tough childhood, she was abused, she then went to work at Mar a Lago and was asked if she wanted to become a masseuse and then GM and GE abused that introduction for their own sick behaviour. She said she was in the room and they started to abuse her and she thought, well this is the way the world works since she had been abused before.

So, they saw a vulnerable young girl and took advantage of her for their own depraved purposes. They did this many times. Lock up GM because she is a Madam who coerces and sets up the rape and abuse of vulnerable young girls.

It's time to permanently retire PA. He said he didn't do or see anything. Don't believe him but there isn't enough proof. If he didn't seen anything he still needs to go because he's clearly too stupid to be left alone without a chaperone.

Butchyrestingface · 03/12/2019 09:11

Fair enough. I would have thought she was well aware of how wrong it was at the time she first raised the allegations.

SerendipityJane · 03/12/2019 09:12

What did the FBI say, when you told them ?

friedbeansandcheese · 03/12/2019 09:13

Well, if she has enough info to prosecute, why isn't she prosecuting rather than appearing on TV interviews?? I don't think there's any point her trying to pressure PA via interview 'only one of us is telling the truth' as he will just keep denying it. Either prosecute or leave it.

And what about Ghislaine Maxwell in all of this? She obviously knew what Epstein was up to and procured girls for him. Why isn't she being prosecuted??

churchandstate · 03/12/2019 09:13

MilkTrayLimeBarrel

  1. I don’t mean she never breaks eye contact. She does. I mean it is natural, normal eye contact in a way that PA’s isn’t.
  2. She does look happy, I agree. I just don’t care.
  3. I agree that it was very foolish of him, but if - as I suspect - it was his view that she was 17, willing, so why the hell not, I can’t see why he would be as reluctant as we might think. He wanted to get into her knickers and she wanted a photo. 🤷🏻‍♀️

There were a number of things PA said in his interview that convinced me he’s guilty:

  1. The ‘sweating’ excuse. Come on. Then we see a photo on Panorama from the same period of him sweating like mad. Sounds like an excuse he came up with to make him sound like some kind of war hero.
  2. He had to go to see Epstein in person to break up the friendship, because he’s so ‘honourable’. Yet he also claimed not to be that close to the guy. And he merely stayed at his home for five days because it was a convenient place to stay, obviously he has no other friends in NY and no budget to spend on a hotel like the rest of us.
  3. He stated he didn’t regret the friendship. Wouldn’t an honourable man be repulsed to discover they’d been friends with a convicted sex offender?
  4. The whole thing about sex being a ‘positive act’ for a man. Just weird.

I believed her.

Passthecherrycoke · 03/12/2019 09:15

She couldnt get anyone prosecuted. Statue of limitations, lack of evidence, the fact that it’s not illegal (or wasn’t at the time) in many locations where it happened . Maybe she can now, in some of the cases

How do you know she didn’t report it to the police?

Butchyrestingface · 03/12/2019 09:15

What did the FBI say, when you told them ?

Lol.

Btw, just looked. Can’t see any line.

Could @twosoups1972 please post upload the photo with the “line” circled for those of us with old, tired eyes? 🌹

ChickenyChick · 03/12/2019 09:17

she is on a mission to goad him into suing her for libel/defamation, as only once he takes that bait will there be an actual court case where evidence can be presented

I think?

SerendipityJane · 03/12/2019 09:18

Isn't the reason the FBI involved because it crosses state lines, so is a Federal case ? Which means that for sex offences there is no statute of limitations ?

SupersonicGerm · 03/12/2019 09:19

Funny how Epstein conveniently killed himself before he could talk, no?

ARoomWithoutADoor · 03/12/2019 09:19

Her expectations had been set very low.
She'd already been abused aged 7.
And no one had saved her.
So, she probably didn't think she deserved' to be saved.
Then, her Father worked at Mar a Lago, (JE friends with Trump)
She was excited at the prospect of being offered 'real training to be a real massage therapist' and was desperate not to 'blow it'
Like many girls at the Edinburgh saunas / other places in UK
'Trafficked' from the EU or homegrown.
Already damaged, perfect for further exploitation.

Re the parents - clearly naive at best here.
But I've been working with a 7 year old girl whom the Courts have just awarded further 1:1 contact with her sexually abusive Father with.
The evidence is clear and both child and Mother are being ignored whilst Father's wishes are paramount.

Our 'system is still a very long way behind being able to deal with the reality, or the aftermath, for abused / trafficked children.

I think that’s just the edge of the photograph taken against a black background.

Black line on PA’s left side

I’m looking and I can’t see any line, black or otherwise.

Need to see it highlighted, if you would be so kind.
