To be upfront : I would never vote for Labour or Corbyn anyway, for various reasons.. But that was not a good interview and had I been considering it I would be very concerned now.

Unless you live in his ward you're not voting for him anyway. This is not a presidential race.

VashtaNerada · 27/11/2019 06:29

I’m a teacher and for me voting anyone but Labour is not an option. I’ve seen the damage the current government has done to the community I serve.

bellinisurge · 27/11/2019 06:32

@VeniVidiVoxi , don't be so naive. Of course the leader of the party plays a part in your decision making. I'm old, it always has done.
FWIW, my local Labour MP is a decent bloke but on the wrong side of an important green issue- unlike all the Labour MPs in neighbouring constituencies.
That and Corbyn (I'm half Jewish/half Irish) is why I'm not voting Labour.

bellinisurge · 27/11/2019 06:32

I've voted Labour all my long life.

Fucket · 27/11/2019 06:34

I’m incredibly sad that we don’t have a decent opposition. That more than likely voters will more vote Tory. Almost better the devil you know, than wtf have we let ourselves in for.

I just hope and pray that if the Labour Party gets a proper mauling they have a change of leadership and a good clear out of not just him but his friends and fan club.

Either that or the Lib Dem’s take over As official opposition.

Depressing times.

tinytemper66 · 27/11/2019 06:35

I am also a teacher and won't be voting Labour. Welsh Labour is taking us in a direction in education which I don't like. The Welah NHS, whilst funded from central govt is devolved too and in a mess. I know the Plaid candidate so I am voting for Plaid Cymru.

I don't feel comfortable with Jeremy Corbyn being prime minister. I dont respect him as a leader and I think Labour are unelectable with him. Staunch Labour supporters are being turned off by him.

Welsh! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

AhNowTed · 27/11/2019 06:40

Jeremy Corbyn is anti-Israeli government policy. That is NOT the same as anti-Semitic.

I'm anti-Trump. That doesn't make me anti-American.

TheQueef · 27/11/2019 06:40

I'm watching now.
He just isn't a leader.
Better than Boris though who isn't even pretending to be anything other than a self serving toff.
It's a shame there isn't a decent deputy or two to give hope.

BlackSwanGreen · 27/11/2019 06:41

Better than Boris

JPharm · 27/11/2019 06:47

Boris is terrible at any form of public speaking or debate. Based on your logic no one should be voting for him.

1066vegan · 27/11/2019 06:50

It was an embarrassingly bad interview. I agree with him that he has fought against racism all his adult life and don't believe that he is personally anti Semitic (It's perfectly possible to have reservations about Israeli policies without being anti Jewish). But antisemitism does seem to have become a problem under his leadership. He should have apologised instead of being evasive.

Having said that, I still believe that Corbyn has far more integrity than that self-serving serial liar Johnson.

Tory austerity policies have caused huge suffering to the poorest and most vulnerable people in our society. I'll vote for which ever candidate has got the best chance of beating the seating Tory MP in my constituency.

Sunnyjac · 27/11/2019 06:50

If you mean that car crash ‘interview’ with Andrew Neil then YABU. Corbyn couldn’t get a word in edgeways so we never got to hear what he was trying to say

PleaseDontLaugh · 27/11/2019 06:53

Neil was trying to cut through the waffle and get a straight answer from Corbyn on various issues. Which Corbyn spectacularly failed to provide on anything.

FoamingAtTheUterus · 27/11/2019 06:55

Let's face it, he's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't....... personally I don't think he should apologize for something he didn't do. And if he had finally walked into that little trap the press would have had a field day.

He stands by his principles, which is a rare trait these days. And none existent within politics

GhostofFrankGrimes · 27/11/2019 07:03

I wont be swayed by another Labour bashing thread.

2Rebecca · 27/11/2019 07:04

He is incapable of saying "I oppose antiSemitism" in a tone of voice that makes it sound as though he means it rather than a half hearted monotone and without adding "and all racism" as though reciting catechism not answering a question.

thefluffysideofgrey · 27/11/2019 07:05

Because one dodgy interview cancels out all the damage done by the Tories?

Tory voters have blood on their hands. I genuinely mean that and will not apologise.

toomuchtooold · 27/11/2019 07:06

Well, I have to vote for someone. I won't lie, I have reservations about Labour's handling of the antisemitism stuff has been very victim blamey and sweep everything under the carpet. But they don't need to be perfect thos time, they don't even have to be good, they only have to be better than the Tories, who've been taken over by a hard right-thick as pigshit coalition and are about to try and turn the UK into a deregulated playground for the rich.

Newbie1999 · 27/11/2019 07:06

The part about Waspi women was just the worst. ‘How will you pay?’ ‘Let me tell you why’ ‘No, I asked how will you pay’ repeat and repeat until ‘because we have to’ Hmm

fedup21 · 27/11/2019 07:09

Better than the Tories.

I bet it was a car crash-Andrew Neil is a dreadful interview.

TheQueef · 27/11/2019 07:11

He is right though Newb it needs paying so the money needs to be found.

His repeating of his full answers is a throw back to his back bench tenacity. He can't do simple concise answers it has to be a party political speech, no opportunity missed.
It's completely misplaced in these TV interview times.

ItMustBeBedtimeSurely · 27/11/2019 07:11

We need a decent opposition for God's sake, and this isn't it. WHY have the labour party stuck their heads in the sand for so long when its obvious JC is unelectable for so many people? Is it a reaction against new labour? Can someone explain it to me because to an outsider their loyalty to him is incomprehensible.

tangledyarn · 27/11/2019 07:11

It was a terrible interview, bloody car crash, but Andrew Neil is also a horrible bullish aggressive man who appeared to be conducting an interrogation rather than a conversation. I'll still be voting labour because whilst not perfect by any stretch they are the party that fit best with my values, and the only party for me that are interested in addressing the inequalitys in this country, improving the NHS and giving normal people a sense of hope for the future.

ZenNudist · 27/11/2019 07:14

JC has more integrity in his little finger than Boris has in his whole body. And Im not a big JC fan!

Boris comes across as an utter buffoon. I am ashamed to have him representing us to the world.

The Tories have made one catastrophic decision after another for this country and are driving it into the ground. Its all well and good if you are super rich but everyone else is so clearly disadvantaged I fear for my children's future.

People need to wake up and vote tactically to avoid a Tory majority.
