To think that it's impossible to vote for Jeremy Corbyn after last night's interview?

To be upfront : I would never vote for Labour or Corbyn anyway, for various reasons.. But that was not a good interview and had I been considering it I would be very concerned now.

Nope. Better than Boris and the ‘Brittania ‘work the British like the Chinese’ Unchained’ gang.

Andrew Neil was never going to give Corbyn a chance to speak.

I was an anti-Corbyn, Blairite. I’ve voted for Cameron but I hate to see people being bullied. Other voters are starting to see what’s going on and that every time Labour go up in the polls, the MSM go for him like rabid dogs. Labour went up in the polls by just 2 points and Johnson got his personal friend to go in for kill yesterday which dominated headlines. What will they say when they go up by 5 points? Claim he’s a murderer?

Normal people who are not rich want change. I don’t think some of those who voted Leave really even want to leave, they just want change. The country can’t keep going the way it is. We don’t want to be America with people with extreme wealth at one end, people stuck in jobs they don’t like with 10 days annual leave because they can’t afford to lose health insurance in the middle and people in tent cities self medicating with opioids at the other end.

People want us to be a fairer European democracy not a capitalism on steroids ‘winners and losers’ country.

TiceCream · 27/11/2019 07:16

I’ve always voted Labour. But I’ll be voting Conservative because Corbyn is unelectable. Labour’s policies are irrelevant - I absolutely cannot choose him as Prime Minister.

RedSheep73 · 27/11/2019 07:17

We've all seen a thousand interviews with BJ lying through his teeth. And promising to fuck this country over double quick in the name of Brexit. But you'd rather vote for him?

FoamingAtTheUterus · 27/11/2019 07:21

Ticecream.........that's just ridiculous. Hmm

ThanosSavedMe · 27/11/2019 07:23

@TiceCream I’m genuinely interested. You’ve always voted labour but because of Corbyn you’re going to vote Boris. Can I ask why?

ADarkandStormyKnight · 27/11/2019 07:23

My view is that the issue that outweighs all others is climate change. I don't trust the Tories on this, especially as we'll be in the throes of Brexit if they get in, for years and years.

Brexit will, I think , in itself be bad for climate - more long distance trade, lower standards, less money (certainly in teh short-term) to deal with the problems.

Therefore stopping Brexit is the main aim on 12th.

All the other stuff - tax, racism/anti-semitism, etc, will be subject to further scrutiny and parties can be pressured to sort themselves out.

[But I do wish Corby would just own it for now, apologise, promise to do better].

SwampOfDeath · 27/11/2019 07:26

Oh boy, Jeremy Corbyn is very similar to many Scandinavian politicians (my homeground), who are considered fairly middle of the road. It is a sad reflection on the UK that he is considered some kind of dangerous radical, when many of his policies would be the very bottom line that many of my scandi friends and family would be looking for in a political manifesto.
Boris Johnson is too much like a flustered Apprentice candidate; I chuckle to myself and tuck "...Lord Shugah" at the end of his fudgings. And he is in total contempt of the poor and working class.

Pumperthepumper · 27/11/2019 07:29

I’ve always voted Labour. But I’ll be voting Conservative because Corbyn is unelectable. Labour’s policies are irrelevant - I absolutely cannot choose him as Prime Minister.

Bollocks. No way would a lifelong labour voter vote for Boris Johnson. Or say labour’s policies are irrelevant to the vote.

SwampOfDeath · 27/11/2019 07:36

Yes, Pumper, that sounds all kinds of off. I'll make my final point again: Boris Johnson and the CP are laughing at the poor and the working class. Sadly this is very evident in my sector.

Bluntness100 · 27/11/2019 07:39

I honestly don't know how any person with an iota of decency could watch that last night and say, yeah, let's make him prime minister.

I genuinely don't.

All politicians have their faults, but this, this is something else entirely.

Rachel438 · 27/11/2019 07:39

I’ve always voted Labour. But I’ll be voting Conservative because Corbyn is unelectable. Labour’s policies are irrelevant - I absolutely cannot choose him as Prime Minister

Yeah right - so you'd choose Boris as 'electable'. I mean - really???

Is it because you really think that BJ's oven-ready Brexit will be done and dusted by this time next year? Hahaha - that will never happen - Watch the economy tank further, and the queues get longer at the foodbanks.

Rachel438 · 27/11/2019 07:42

I honestly don't know how any person with an iota of decency

Maybe because they care about the NHS and the poor more than making money

Ponoka7 · 27/11/2019 07:46

"I've always voted Labour. But I’ll be voting Conservative because Corbyn is unelectable."

If that's true, you need to see your Doctor, because you aren't well.

DarkandStormyKnight, "I don't trust the Tories on this, especially as we'll be in the throes of Brexit if they get in, for years and years."

To think that it's impossible to vote for Jeremy Corbyn after last night's interview?
doadeer · 27/11/2019 07:47

Oh just what we need another Corbyn bashing thread! Can never have too many is what I say! From supporters of the party that brings us Johnson and Rees Mogg 🤔

longwayoff · 27/11/2019 07:47

Ohhhhh bloody hell. Where are the grown ups and will they save us from the bunch of toddlers who've stolen our politics? Awful, all of them. Poor performance and poor judgement across the board. Despair.

ShatnersWig · 27/11/2019 07:49

As another poster said, even if that was a car crash, Johnson is far worse. You may disagree with Corbyn and his policies, but a look at his voting record shows he has pretty much stuck to his principles and opinions throughout his entire political career. Compare that with Johnson.

No contest. If you can't vote for Corbyn/Labour on the basis of last night, then you absolutely can't vote for Johnson/Tories on the basis of a single word that has come out of Johnson's mouth for the last three years.

Solihooley · 27/11/2019 07:52

It wasn’t an interview, it was AN (who is increasingly annoying) shout at Jc for 30 mins. When you compare him to most other bbc broadcasters, who have the ability to give tough interviews without making it a boring monotonous hounding he looks like he (AN) doesn’t know what he’s doing. All I can say for it was JcC did well to keep his cool, but it’s a shame he didn’t get to talk about anything current. I shall watch the Boris interview (I assume he’s getting a roasting as well ) with interest.

NiceViper · 27/11/2019 07:57

I didn't think he came across well

Some of the questions were clearly phrased to give minimum scope for evasive answers; and that is generally a good thing.

As the BBC seems to be pissing off all parties, they are probably doing OK with their coverage.

Pan2 · 27/11/2019 07:57

It was Neil trying to show he doesn't have reducing levels of testosterone as he ages. Pathetic. It was an 'interview' at all.

This is just an attempt to Corbyn bash. Boring.

BackInTime · 27/11/2019 07:57

I am trying to look at the party as a whole not just the party leaders, thinking who is likely to be in their cabinet. What kind of people are they? Are the decent, honest, have they some morals and a shred of humanity? Will they sell us down the river with Brexit and make my family worse off while benefiting their rich mates? Will they protect the NHS?

When I look at Johnson, Reed-Mogg, Priti Patel, Raab etc. I apply this to them and I am filled with dread and horror.

Solihooley · 27/11/2019 07:57

I honestly don't know how any person with an iota of decency could watch that last night and say, yeah, let's make him prime minister.

And I don’t know how any person with an iota of decency could vote for a party run but Boris Johnson who, until a few months ago, was considered a joke person by pretty much everyone in politics. Why he suddenly became the best option for PM is a mystery we will never know the answer to. I can only assume they thought he should have a go at lying in the bed he made. His career has been one long bumble from major cock up to cock up. People say he’s clever. I think what they mean is manipulative. I’ve seen no evidence that he can engage his brain.

DonkeyHotty · 27/11/2019 07:58

Vote the Tories in again and I guarantee their bullshit charade of a broken party will be completely decimated by the time the masses wake up and realise the utter trap they have fallen into with the ‘oven ready’ turkey they have voted for. Bring it on, let themselves fuck themselves over. Whoever takes on the poisoned chalice of UK leadership is going to be royally fucked either way.

materridet · 27/11/2019 07:59

They're both awful. And I'm not keen on some of the lib dem ideas either. For those of us on the centre-left, there is just nowhere to go. I can't vote Corbyn. I certainly can't vote Boris. I have never in my life found an election decision this hard. Two weeks to go, I've actually read all of the manifestos, and I still haven't got a clue who to vote for. I feel politically homeless, along with many people I know.

Bluntness100 · 27/11/2019 08:00

Maybe because they care about the NHS and the poor more than making money

But that makes no sense? Even those on a very low income, 14k for example, will pay more tax under labour. And the excessive borrowing, makes the nhs poorer. Borrowing money isn't free, we don't get free money, we need to pay it back and with interest. It's a loan like any other loan. Getting into excessive unaffordable debt, be it the government or an individual always causes austerity in the long run. That diverts money from everything. Inc the nhs. There is no free money tree.

ShatnersWig · 27/11/2019 08:02

Why he suddenly became the best option for PM is a mystery we will never know the answer to

Because there is a considerable section of the voting population who actually LIKE the man. They don't necessarily trust him, but they like the fact that he's this character with some form of personality (I'd add the word disorder after that). Strange though it may seem to many of us, that's why he's there.
