To think that it's impossible to vote for Jeremy Corbyn after last night's interview?

To be upfront : I would never vote for Labour or Corbyn anyway, for various reasons.. But that was not a good interview and had I been considering it I would be very concerned now.

"GET BREXIT DONE" is one of the biggest lies (among many) that trips out of Johnson's mouth (and his acolytes).

To 'complete' leaving the EU and setting up a free trade agreement will take years and years.

But Johnson NEVER gets challenged on this. Cult members incl BBC staff just don't see the lying, Goebbels style, as an issue.
Be curious to see if Neil challenges and hectors Johnson.

Jeremy Corbyn is anti-Israeli government policy. That is NOT the same as anti-Semitic.

I'm anti-Trump. That doesn't make me anti-American.
......
Yup, that's how I feel.

Trewser · 27/11/2019 08:05

Whether he is personally anti semitic or not, how stupid do you have to be to be in his position and still refuse to apologise? Mulish, stubborn and stupid. Don't want him anywhere near number 10 thank you!

Pan2 · 27/11/2019 08:06

And there's A LOT of notable Jews who are saying to Chief Rabbi "you don't speak for me at all" but the media just cant seem to find them. Curious.

Trewser · 27/11/2019 08:07

Of course he will and BJ will splutter all over the place. But personally I won't find it as worrying for some reason.

Bluntness100 · 27/11/2019 08:09

Agree. He has clearly lied in the past. Why not lie now and apologise. Even one of his own MPs tweeted he should have apologises, Jess Philips (think that's her name). Why sit there refusing to then end it clearly on the fourth time with "will you apologise" "no"

And then the ludicrous issue over paying for the pensions, he did the same there, tried not to answer it, then tried to lie he'd take it out of reserves, and then eventually admitted there isn't 60 billion of reserves so he'd borrow that too.

And the lying about low income people paying more tax, before eventually having to admit it.

Just awful

Pan2 · 27/11/2019 08:10

I wouldn't apologise either. Chief Rabbi is trying to get rid of any chance of a Labour administration. He is speaking as a Tory, and alleges has a 'pastoral role' over 100,00s of Jewish people.
Corbyn needs to be more on the front foot with evidence of fighting anti-Semitism - that's far more effective.

ShatnersWig · 27/11/2019 08:11

Trewser As a PP said, he was damned either way - if he had apologised, then the press would have gone to town on him declaring him anti-semitic rather than gone to town on him declaring him a shit for not apologising. And do you go around apologising for things you haven't done?

Yes, a LOT of Jewish people have been very outspoken that the Chief Rabbi no more speaks for all Jews than the Pope speaks for all Christians. Miriam Margolyes (Jewish) did a great interview on C4 news last night. Said Corbyn is not anti-semitic, he may have made mistakes, he may not be a great leader, but if it comes to a choice between Corbyn and Johnson there is no contest as the latter is an out and out liar.

leckford · 27/11/2019 08:11

I hope the number of labour bots will reduce after 13th Dec

Emma377 · 27/11/2019 08:12

Always have voted labour, now can’t and will be voting Tory. Position on brexit is bonkers (negotiate a deal then stay neutral!!!) we will have a PM who would not have an opinion on one of the biggest issues of the time. The level of spending is crazy and will be imposing huge debt on future generations. People need to understand how unfair it is to burden our children with debt like that.

TheQueef · 27/11/2019 08:12

Didn't he apologise last year?
I agree an apology is required but why didn't he reiterate his prior?
Is the Chief Rabbi connected to Boris or the Tory party?

Pan2 · 27/11/2019 08:13

Would Johnson apologise over Tories causing death and misery, deliberately, to 10s of 1,000s of people? For child poverty escalation, food bank dependency? Nope. Will AN ask him to apologise for ALL of that? Nope. Has he ever apologised for it? Nope.
Not a level playing field.

HeresMe · 27/11/2019 08:13

Andrew Neil wouldn't have to challenge MPs and keep repeating his questions as much if they answered the damm questions instead of waffling and I'm talking about all party's.

borntobequiet · 27/11/2019 08:16

I'm going to vote Labour. (I vote for my local candidate, not Jeremy Corbyn.) The Conservative party has done untold damage to this country and its people since 2010. I voted Lib Dem then, and was reasonably happy with the Coalition, but I can't vote LD any more, as they seem to have veered sharply to the right and become frighteningly authoritarian and misogynistic.
Labour is the best of a bad lot, I like some policies and not others but that's always the case.
Andrew Neill is a terrible interviewer, a hectoring, bombastic tosspot individual.

ShatnersWig · 27/11/2019 08:16

TheQueef This may answer your question:

The Rabbi, who used to live in Israel and is personal friend of both Boris Johnson as well as Netanyahu, has frequently defended Israel’s right to bomb Palestinians.

MaxNormal · 27/11/2019 08:16

I honestly don't know how any person with an iota of decency could watch that last night and say, yeah, let's make him prime minister.

I have no idea how anyone can look at Boris Johnson, look at the members of his government, and say this with a straight face.

LittleSweet · 27/11/2019 08:19

Because Boris has been Islamophobic, racist and misogynistic and that seems perfectly acceptable to voters and he stood up for his comments and wouldn't apologise.

Clavinova · 27/11/2019 08:21

"GET BREXIT DONE" is one of the biggest lies (among many) that trips out of Johnson's mouth (and his acolytes).

To 'complete' leaving the EU and setting up a free trade agreement will take years and years.

And the Labour Party claiming that they can negotiate an EVEN BETTER DEAL - all done and dusted WITHIN 6 MONTHS is what?

longwayoff · 27/11/2019 08:22

Is that the PM Netanyahu who is currently facing charges of bribery, fraud and deception? For the second time?

Emma377 · 27/11/2019 08:23

JC will do untold damage to the country. We need a Labour Party to go back ten years ago when it was electable. When you get the chief rabbi and the Archbishop of Canterbury saying what they did there is an issue

ShatnersWig · 27/11/2019 08:23

Clavinova Labour's claim refers to the withdrawal deal, not the rest of the things that follows, as surely you know?

ShatnersWig · 27/11/2019 08:25

longwayoff Yes, that same Netanyahu.

I want to say, for the record, I've actually never voted Labour, before someone accuses me of being a Labour bot.

Iggly · 27/11/2019 08:25

Given that I’m not convinced that Labour’s handling of anti-semitism has been fabulous, I suspect the conservatives are no better, I’m not taking this into account when it comes to voting.

Why? Because the current prime minister is a racist bellend and is an all out liar.

I’m hoping that Labour will get in and Corbyn will actually be eventually ousted. Then at least we have a labour government.

My prime concern is avoiding a hard Brexit which will tank the economy for a lifetime and make some hedge fund managers very rich at our expense. And it is at our expense because money is not an infinite resource.

TheGoogleMum · 27/11/2019 08:25

I didn't see it. I'm still gonna vote Labour because I don't want a conservative MP and that's a possibility. Corbyn won't get in anyway so not sure why the haters are so worried (I personally think Boris is worse though)

ShatnersWig · 27/11/2019 08:29

All this talk of voting either for Johnson or Corbyn when of course it's not presidential anyway, could actually be totally and utterly irrelevant.

There is a real chance that Johnson could lose his seat. So all these people voting specifically for Johnson could find that in four weeks, even if Tories gained an outright majority, there is another Tory leadership contest...
