It’s ‘best of a bad bunch’ in my case but there are three threads petrified of BJ/Tories so wondered if any MN Tories would like to gather here!

Happily! I am a labour to tory switcher. Can't stand Corbyn.

Megan2018 · 25/11/2019 08:43

Conservative party member here.
I’m not a die hard though, voted Labour in the past but find Corbyn terrifying.

RoLaren · 25/11/2019 08:44

Waves! I'm actually a Labour voter at heart, but the entity masquerading as Labour at the moment is a grotesque inversion of what the party should be. When they want to stop playing middle class revolutionaries I'll look at them again, but until then, the Conservatives get my vote as a grown up, vaguely competent party.

I'm in a marginal seat which Labour has held since 1918, but it looks like it will flip this time due to the awfully woke young candidate imposed by the central party, who allowed no local input into the selection process.

Oh, and cause I'm expecting hate anyway, I support Leave!

Roll on December 12th! Grin

Mincepies76 · 25/11/2019 08:46

The thought of Corbyn and Abbot in charge is truly terrifying! I'll be voting Tory!

RoLaren · 25/11/2019 08:46

Gin/grin?! Emoji fail Smile

IWantADifferentName · 25/11/2019 08:49

I’ve voted for all three of the major parties in previous elections. I was even an active Lib Dem party member at one stage.

In this election, I will happily vote Tory.

nicky7654 · 25/11/2019 08:50

Well I am not a lover of Labour or Conservative as think they are both Traitors. Nigel Farage is the only person in Politics who I have ever respected. But to stop Labour getting in I have to bite the bullet and vote Conservative. The lot of them need sacking they are all pathetic Traitors stopping our Country gaining I dependance from the Corrupt EU.

BuggerOffAndGoodDayToYou · 25/11/2019 08:51

CORBYN? As PRIME MINISTER? What a terrifying thought.

Babdoc · 25/11/2019 08:52

Long term moderate Tory here. I’m in Scotland, so Labour isn’t a feature. It’s a straight fight between the SNP and Tories in my extremely tight marginal constituency - majority of 21. Anyone who wants to keep the U.K. united has to vote tactically here - the Tories are the only way to stop Sturgeon demanding yet another independence referendum, wasting a further £6 million of taxpayers money.

pollyputthepastaon · 25/11/2019 08:55

The thought of what a labour government would do to women's rights is so utterly terrifying as to truly beg the question of WHY ANY WOMAN would be a labour supporter these days.

I think they have their head in the sand.

DivGirl · 25/11/2019 08:57

Scottish tactical voter here. My views don't align with any of the main parties but I fucking HATE the SNP so Conservatives it is.

MrsToothyBitch · 25/11/2019 08:59

True Blue Tory here. I've only ever voted Conservative. Not thrilled with them at present but they're still the best of the bunch for me. I'm 29, too. I've never been as left leaning as people seem to think the "youth" ought to be!Confused

HarryElephante · 25/11/2019 09:01

I am not sure where I stand but I do believe the people who constantly refer to Labour as 'terrifying' have just swallowed a right wing media narrative hook, line and sinker.

Is the thought of the Tories running the NHS into the ground not equally as terrifying? I think it is.

I don't know where to go. I genuinely don't. Very depressing.

PleaseDontLaugh · 25/11/2019 09:01

Scottish tactical voter here too. I will never vote SNP. Jeremy Corbyn is horrific.

MzPumpkinPie · 25/11/2019 09:01

Lifetime labour voter who is terrified at the prospect of a Corbyn , Marxist government.
Also a feminist.
Very hard choice for me but I'm voting Tory.

ReadtheSmallPrint · 25/11/2019 09:03

Another swing voter here who just can’t vote for Corbyn. His slogan should be renamed ‘For Len, sod the rest of you’.

As a disabled ex public sector worker I am so sick of being told I have to think and vote in a certain way or I am stupid/gullible/selfish/brainwashed.

I am no Boris fan. I don’t like all the tory policies. However, Labour’s policies are just batshit crazy.

I voted remain but I really don’t want a second referendum. A ‘coalition of chaos’ which leads to us remaining will lead to a massive upsurge in the far right within a decade. I guarantee it.

TheLittleBrownFox · 25/11/2019 09:04

@pollyputthepastaon is interesting isn't it - I think the same of what a Tory government would do to women's rights and what they've already done.

(Sorry, I'll just take myself out now - but genuinely interested in watching this thread)

Would the people vote to stay in again? Is that why it's a waste of money?

woolie34 · 25/11/2019 09:05

Can I ask as a legitimate, friendly question, hoping for some clarification as to why people are scared of corbyn? I am a Labour and corbyn supporter, but always take the time to independentlt fact check every politician of every party who has been acussed of wrongdoing as not to be biased. I have yet to find anything legitimately scary about corbyn, and as a researcher I always feel the need to see why other people think the way they do.

SpiderCharlotte · 25/11/2019 09:05

I'm so angry that Labour have that fucking twat at the helm, making people feel they have no option but to vote for a party that will ruin this country even more than it is already. My biggest worry is our NHS.

I live in a safe Tory seat so it doesn't really matter which way I vote! In previous years I've decided to vote Tory as the candidate did at least live locally.
I'd love to vote Green, but I just can't. Labour? No. Lib Dems? No.
So, Tory is the least worst.

Also why as a woman would people be scared of corbyn? Labour has double the number of female mps than that of the tories, with 46%. Corbyns lifelong voting record shows a mainly human rights focused leaning particularly towards those with disabilities, and has spoken a lot about universal credit negatively affecting women who are trapped in domestic abuse. They are all things that anyone can quite easily find for themselves. I cannot understand the fear and genuinely want to know where it is coming from
