Why so many threads criticising Corbyn and so few about Boris Johnson

If any??

There are SO many issues with Johnson - he is involved in at least 3 different potential scandals at the moment - the supressed Russia Dossier, the Jennifer Arcuri misconduct allegations and Vote Leave electoral fraud. His personal is marred with allegations of sleazy conduct and dishonesty. His working life outside parliament is a similar story of lies, conniving, incompetence.

Yet I don't see endless threads lambasting him - it just seems to be shrugged off with a 'well we all know what he's like'. Why is he getting such an easy ride on all this?

@CendrillonSings hmmm funny that, especially as the mainstream media outlets feeding the masses with their information are definitely not owned by billionaires wanting to stay that way.

Oh wait....

CendrillonSings · 20/11/2019 23:37

Ah yes, the media - the left’s main excuse and get-out clause for everything, despite the fact that alternative media sources are bigger and easier to access than at any time in human history. If you didn’t have that, you might actually have to question why your policies and leadership don’t find much favour in the real world.

shalligoagain · 20/11/2019 23:58

@CendrillonSings surely that would require a certain level of intelligence, doubted by even your own bible (the DM), in order to not be taken in by the media bias and seek more independent news?

Throw enough mud and it sticks...

@CendrillonSings

Loughborough University did research on positive/negative press in the first week of the election by party. Check it out. Learn something.

Why so many threads criticising Corbyn and so few about Boris Johnson
dirtyrottenscoundrel · 21/11/2019 07:31

Jeremy Corbyn is smeared mostly by people in his own party.

noodlenosefraggle · 21/11/2019 13:19

Didn't you know, they're not 'real' Labour. Labour haven't been in government since 1974.

CendrillonSings · 21/11/2019 14:01

Loughborough University did research on positive/negative press in the first week of the election by party.

Well of course Labour got the worst coverage - they’re a far-left party riddled with antisemitism! Did you want the press to lie about that?

dirtyrottenscoundrel · 21/11/2019 17:37

Didn't you know, they're not 'real' Labour. Labour haven't been in government since 1974

Agree.

DustyDiamond · 21/11/2019 22:26

What marvellous company Mr Corbyn keeps... 🤔

shalligoagain · 22/11/2019 07:08

Hook, line and sinker! My goodness the right wing smear campaign has certainly worked on you lot. It really is astounding.

Ignore all the austerity deaths and the decimation of our public services and bang on with the lies fed to you by the people who are terrified of Corbyn ruining their corporate backhanders and tax havens.

Oh and also ignore the shameful personal records of Boris, Mogg et al.

Labours policies are in no way 'far left'. Read, research, take your blinkers off and wake up before it's too late!

bumblingbovine49 · 22/11/2019 07:32

The answer to this question is money. The Tory govt have received something like £5Million in donations( more than all the other parties combined) , the labour parry £218K. Business and the rich have the power and money and they use it ( including manipulating the media) to discredit any Labour leader. They did it to all the labour leaders that have had the misfortune to be in politics since mass media has been around.

Blair was a exception as he was basically Tory lite, though even as a labour supporter ,I personally have never understood the Blair hate. Compared to the shower of shit politicians we have on charge now he was competent and we had much better schools health services under that government . Yes yes I know, Iraq etc etc but that was to the end of his time and I think he was in power too long.as was Thatcher . People to a bit mad after more than two terms as prime minster. 10 years is enough for any leader to be in charge of a country

missyB1 · 22/11/2019 09:29

bumbling has it right. It’s about money and the power to manipulate which comes with money. And yes it’s nothing new. But this Government have been terrified by the support for Jeremy Corbyn and the fact that the last election was too close for comfort. So they’ve ramped up the smear campaign and manipulation of the media. And so many people fall for it.

heronsinflight · 22/11/2019 09:41

this Government have been terrified by the support for Jeremy Corbyn and the fact that the last election was too close for comfort.

No, this government have been incredibly grateful for the lamentable lack of opposition that Corbyn has provided, his failure to score in any of the open goals they've presented, and his dithering over Brexit. Corbyn isn't a threat to the Tories, he's manna from Heaven.

ArseDarkly · 22/11/2019 10:51

If that's true why has Bozo refused the Channel 4 debate and hidden from the Uxbridge hustings? If it's such an open goal he should be able to open his football sized gob and score. He doesn't because all he can do is trot out crappy soundbites just like Theresa May, there's no substance at all and people are sick of hearing it.

If Labour is so crap why do the Tories keep putting out fake news to try to sway voters?

OP posts:
heronsinflight · 22/11/2019 11:10

Boris doesn't do any of those things because he's scared of Corbyn. He does them because he has no moral compass or sense of personal responsibility, and takes a slightly Trump-like glee in seeing what outrageous things he can get away with.

DustyDiamond · 22/11/2019 11:12

If Labour is so crap why do the Tories keep putting out fake news to try to sway voters?

If Labour is so great why do they keep putting out fake news about the Tories to try to sway voters?

ArseDarkly · 22/11/2019 11:29

Go on then DustyDiamond, enlighten us about the fake news Labour have put out (I take it I don't need to do the same for you re the Tory fake news/fake sites/lies and more lies as they are already notorious)

Which is exactly why it's such a shame that Labour members kept on and on electing him. If it all goes wrong at this election too, you'd hope they'd look at what they've done and reconsider ... except they'll probably just go right on blaming everyone else instead

bellinisurge · 22/11/2019 11:35

In what you hope is the unlikely event that Labour doesn't get to form the next government, op, will you dump him.

ArseDarkly · 22/11/2019 11:39

I don't know what you mean by 'dump' him - it's not up to me, it's up to the party.

OP posts:
bellinisurge · 22/11/2019 11:44

Dump support for him as unelectable.

ArseDarkly · 22/11/2019 12:55

I admire him a lot so I wouldn't 'dump' him but yes, after two election defeats I would expect a new leader - I would really like to see the first female labour leader, it's long overdue.

OP posts:
ArseDarkly · 22/11/2019 12:57

How about Johnson - presumably they'll drop him if they don't win, especially with the scandals he's got bubbling away in the background

OP posts:
ArseDarkly · 22/11/2019 12:59

So, no answer from Dustydiamond to my question...there's a surprise Grin
