Why so many threads criticising Corbyn and so few about Boris Johnson

ArseDarkly · 19/11/2019 14:50

If any??

There are SO many issues with Johnson - he is involved in at least 3 different potential scandals at the moment - the supressed Russia Dossier, the Jennifer Arcuri misconduct allegations and Vote Leave electoral fraud. His personal is marred with allegations of sleazy conduct and dishonesty. His working life outside parliament is a similar story of lies, conniving, incompetence.

Yet I don't see endless threads lambasting him - it just seems to be shrugged off with a 'well we all know what he's like'. Why is he getting such an easy ride on all this?

OP posts:

I hope they pay you well!

You’re the one who started their own thread to spin the Momentum position. But given how well that went, whatever Labour HQ is paying you, it’s too much! Grin

CendrillonSings · 20/11/2019 13:15

getting a bit desperate after last night’s debate

A debate in which Corbyn failed to land a single blow and got laughed at for his Brexit “policy”? Go on - how big a Labour majority are you predicting as a result of Corbyn’s comical performance?

Considermesometimes · 20/11/2019 13:25

I am incredulous at the posts that seem to say we want a fair society so we need trillions and a labour government, and to nationalise anything that moves WITHOUT considering for a minute what a Corbyn government would actually do to the economy.

Companies and businesses would literally relocate overnight given the huge taxes planned by labour, the fact they may be forced sell of their company as part of the nationalisation programme, and indeed the deficit spiralling out of control will make this country so unattractive and so anti business that an immediate recession would be very likely, and a very deep and lasting depression would take hold.

This would help precisely NOBODY anywhere, and the real consequences of such an electoral mistake will play out for decades.

All the money unicorns promised by Corbyn will never ever happen!! Because there will be no money left to pay for them by the time the best of business, billionaires and all the most talented money creators will have gone. The country will become a back water overnight, and everything that was successful and the wealth will be gone. For good.

We are finished if Momentum get in, that much is certain. Finished.

And I am not even touching on what would happen to Corbyn if he was sent to the EU to try and get a deal. That is an hysterical thought!!!!
They are a total disaster when it comes to Brexit as well.

Labour is an utter shambles. I can't and won't vote for the labour party, because even I can see what a disaster it will be for all of us.

On a personal note: I spent 3 nights in hospital recently. I was lucky to have a bed - but there were no scanners working and no staff to look after me. So I had to 'wait' in bed in hospital for something that could have been an in and out visit. They didn't want to let me go in case it was serious. There were things on the floor that nurses refused to pick up in case they caught something nasty. They just kicked these empty packets around with their feet - towards a bin. My daughter visited, went to the toilet and went home with the worst sickness bug my husband had ever seen. Nobody was cleaning while I was there. The whole experience made me scared to go into hospital ever again. Because I know that if I need serious medical help - in that environment. I will die. This is what Austerity has lead to. There are no staff. Everything is breaking. Now we have shortages of medicines. I'm sure someone working in a hospital could tell you much worse. There are many other problems Austerity has caused - our schools are crumbling, there are 100s more homeless people on our streets - in every town now - , knife crimes are soaring, it's not safe to walk on our streets at night anymore. And over 100,000 people have died. I hope the Tories don't get in again. I hope, if they do, they don't bring Austerity back in another guise. But I'm sure they would/will. Austerity has caused so much suffering, grief and pain and all this for nothing. We're in greater debt than when it was first brought in. Good riddance to Tories and good riddance to Austerity.

Absolutely ridiculous.

There is an exodus of business however: Honda, Ford, Barclays, Dyson, Llyods, Unilever, Jaguar, British Steel, HSBC, Airbus, Panasonic, MoneyGram, UBS, P&O, Michelin, AXA, Bentley and Toyota to name a few. And why are they going? Brexit. You know - that brilliant brainchild of Johnson, Rees-Mogg and those other right wing idiots and their mates who stand to make a packet betting on futures against the pound.

It’s a debate not a boxing match. The ITV poll of 30,000 had it down as 78 vs 22 for Corbyn. Whereas even that Tory created polling agency Yougov had it as a draw within margin of error.

Cam77 · 20/11/2019 13:41

Cendrillon: there are some clever people here who see right through the Tory bullshit. I honestly suggest you just save it for the DM where your anti Corbyn/Labour diatribes are bound to get you a lot of upticks from those having a quick break from their 50th Harry/Meghan bashing article of the week.

Solihooley · 20/11/2019 13:42

It would be put up to rate it was in 2010, that’s what JC said. I seem to remember we had businesses here then. They will possibly flee after a Boris Brexit though.

Because anybody with an ounce of economic sense realises that letting Corbyn anywhere near the keys of No. 10 will result in huge financial ruin for this country and turn us into an entity like Venezula.

Plus then the dictatorial taking away of powers from anyone who dares disagree (see what they did to Tom Watson as an example) - the man is outright dangerous. Wake up and smell the coffee - he can't afford the majority of his 'promises'.

Cam77 · 20/11/2019 13:56

“Because anybody with an ounce of economic sense realises that letting Corbyn anywhere near the keys of No. 10 will result in huge financial ruin for this country and turn us into an entity like Venezula. “

Daily Mail is that way ->>>>

MrsDoylesTea · 20/11/2019 13:59

Socialist Worker is that way

Cam77 · 20/11/2019 13:59

The Conservatives “strong and stable government” has led to Honda, Ford, Barclays, Dyson, Llyods, Unilever, Jaguar, British Steel, HSBC, Airbus, Panasonic, MoneyGram, UBS, P&O, Michelin, AXA, Bentley, Toyota among others, cutting operations and jobs and a projected 4% drop in GDP. And all that while crippling schools, crippling the NHS, and failing to provide young people with affordable housing.
I’ll take my chances with Labour, thanks, and an honest leader who knows how many kids he has.

Halleli · 20/11/2019 14:01

Corbyn is absolutely a terrorist sympathiser.

Just one example.

In 2011, Israel took part in a prisoner swap in which over 1000 Palestinian prisoners were released in exchange for the Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, who had been held prisoner by Hamas since 2005.

Among the Palestinians released were notorious terrorists, including Husam Badran, a former leader of Hamas’ military wing.

You won’t have heard of Badran, but all Israelis know who he is. You see, he orchestrated:

  • The Sbarro pizzeria bombing, which killed 15 civilians, including 7 children and a pregnant women, and injured 130.
  • The Dolphinarium Discotheque Massacre, which killed 21 civilians, 16 of whom were teenagers
  • The Passover Massacre - in which 30 civilians celebrating Pesach together with a Seder were murdered, and 140 injured
  • The Matza Restaurant suicide bombing in Haifa - (an Arab-Israeli restaurant btw) in which 16 civilians were killed and over 40 injured.

So, how does Corbyn come into this?

Badran, upon his release, was exiled to Qatar.

In 2012, Corbyn attends a conference in Doha, sharing a stage with multiple terrorist leaders including Badran.

At this conference, Corbyn describes the contributions by recently released “brothers” including Badran as “fascinating and electrifying.”

Read this thread by Adam Ma’anit.
His 16 year old cousin Orly was slaughtered in the Matza restaurant bombing.

@cam77

Wow, it’s almost as if there are a number of huge emerging economies around the world getting increasingly skilled at things like manufacturing.....

Cam77 · 20/11/2019 14:01

Calling out Daily Mail bullshit doesn’t make one a socialist. Look, here is the former chief political editor of the Telegraph, Peter Oborne, doing exactly the same!

CendrillonSings · 20/11/2019 14:03

Sorry Cam77, until you nationalise Mumsnet Towers and allow only pro-Corbyn comments to appear, I’ll continue to post as I please, thank you very much! Grin

Cam77 · 20/11/2019 14:03

@users
No, they are not heading “around the world”, they are mostly heading for Europe. They need an EU base. Obviously that won’t be the U.K. anymore.

Cam77 · 20/11/2019 14:04

@Cendrillion Please post away, just avoid your trite cliches! (Or, as I said, leave them for the Mail).

Cam77 · 20/11/2019 14:06

Johnson and the Tories have coddled up to any number of terorist sympathizing regimes around the world as well as plenty of other horrible human rights abusing regimes. Your silly scaremongering doesn’t wash.

Halleli · 20/11/2019 14:10

Johnson and the Tories have coddled up to any number of terorist sympathizing regimes around the world as well as plenty of other horrible human rights abusing regimes.

A) You do realise that Labour and the Tories aren’t the only two choices?

B) Corbyn and Iran. Pot meet kettle.

CendrillonSings · 20/11/2019 14:16

Please post away, just avoid your trite cliches!

The fact that you think your own pro-cult posts aren’t stuffed with cliches is sad, but not unexpected.

Halleli · 20/11/2019 14:17

Corbyn will praise any regime that he considers anti-American.

At a 2014 event marking the 25th anniversary of the Iranian Revolution, Corbyn praised Iran’s “tolerance and acceptance of other faiths, traditions and ethnic groupings in Iran.” Plus, he took £20,000 to speak on Iranian state TV.

This is a regime that executes children, throws people off buildings, imprisons journalists, persecutes members of the Baha’i minority - I could go on.

So tell me again how it’s just the Tories who coddle up to human rights abusing regimes. Hypocrite.

Halleli · 20/11/2019 14:17

*to specify, Iran throws gay people off buildings

Jakymz · 20/11/2019 14:54

Corbyn also supports the Palestinian people against daily oppression, genocide, occupation, etc etc. You name it. What an awful man he is. Hmm
