Jeremy Corbyn

I see so many posters saying they won’t vote for Labour as they don’t like Jeremy Corbyn - why? If the Labour policies are good then why not vote for those rather than the leader?

OP posts:
EleanorShellstrop100 · 30/10/2019 10:38

I think he’s wonderful.

Inebriati · 30/10/2019 10:47

I don't think hes wonderful. He abstained from voting against Clause 28, and that pretty sums up his style of 'leadership'. Momentum has been absolutely toxic for Labour.

Usernumbers1234 · 30/10/2019 10:51

@SpaghettiSharon

Do you really believe that. Do you think that privatising the entire nhs and letting the state education system collapse will get them re-elected in 2021, you really think they will prioritise that?!

Moonmelodies · 30/10/2019 10:51

Remember that time he couldn't even organise himself a seat on a train, and had to sit on the floor? (or was that a lie and part of some right-wing smear?)

Justanotherlurker · 30/10/2019 10:57

Do you think that privatising the entire nhs

The state of political discourse has gone seriously downhill.

The fact this batshit propaganda is still pushed shows some labour supporters need to be better read.

Usernumbers1234 · 30/10/2019 11:07

@justanotherlurker

That’s Facebook politics for you

mauvaisereputation · 30/10/2019 11:34

I'm pro JC's policies (mostly) and will be voting labour in the next election. But I can understand why he puts people off. Frankly I think his wing of the party is sexist and anti-semitic. JC is a skilled campaigner but has shown no ability at all in the art of politics. I honestly don't think he's very intelligent. He's no good in PMQs and has just been rubbish in navigating the Brexit drama. There are loads of people in labour who would do a better job -- Yvette Cooper or Keir Starmer or Jess Philips or even Angela Rayner (I just hope he doesn't try to anoint Rebecca Long-Bailey).

EerieSilence · 30/10/2019 11:37

I absolutely dislike Corbyn and wouldn't vote Labour because of him either. His idea of socialist Britain is based on the old Stalinist ideas which have proven totally unrealistic. He's not a politician, he's an academic. I would be going for the LibDems, in all honesty.

StinkGhoul · 30/10/2019 11:37

extreme left policies of JC

Oh give over

StinkGhoul · 30/10/2019 11:38

And now he’s a Stalinist!

Christ, people will believe anything, even while watching the Tory party set this country on fire.

CendrillonSings · 30/10/2019 11:42

Labour policies involve little more than the confiscation of private property - that’s extreme no matter what spin the Corbyn cult puts on it. He’s just the figurehead for the extreme left, but since he wants to be Prime Minister his stupidity and malign associations have to be taken into account as well.

Rainbowhairdontcare · 30/10/2019 11:42

anti-Semitism. And some labour voters are in denial....

ArthurtheCatsHumanSlave · 30/10/2019 11:47

Christ, people will believe anything

On both sides of the political divide.

Wineislifex · 30/10/2019 11:47

He supported the return of the ISIS bride to the UK...terrorist sympathiser, it’s a no from me!

EssentialHummus · 30/10/2019 11:49

Since becoming leader he's had the opportunity to react decisively to a few quite important situations - Brexit, obviously, but also the ongoing anti-semitism within Labour, and others. And on each occasion, where I imagine another party leader would act with some authority and demonstrate a bit of nous, he's... done nothing.

It's a real shame - my local Labour MP is fantastic, I'd vote for her to be PM in a heartbeat.

Legomadx2 · 30/10/2019 11:50

He's a terrorist supporting anti-Semite for starters.

HTH

EerieSilence · 30/10/2019 11:52

@StinkGhoul - as someone who spent her youth living in a Communist regime, with all the experience incl. anti-Semitism and misogyny hidden behind the so-called equality of women (which meant that they were supposed to do double work, at home and at work and less paid), I would like to believe that I recognise a Stalinist when I hear one.
And I hate Tories with passion unseen so I a think it's a real tragedy to see Labour going down the bolshevik drain.

MrsBethel · 30/10/2019 11:55

If Corbyn stood aside and Keir Starmer took over Labour would win a big majority, have a second ref, and we could all get on with our lives.

Not gonna happen, of course. At some point, after yet more untold damage has been done, Corbyn will step aside for John McDonnell. Who is possibly even worse.

This country is going to shit.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 30/10/2019 12:10

Corbyn has made a career out of being a rebel backbencher who did fuck all for years but supported dubious groups (all of course anti uk/West) who got lucky with a team behind him

Look at who is behind him

I prefer Labour’s policies to Conservatives but the idea of another round of negotiations with the EU then another referendum will put off many voters even with a different leader

Only good thing to come out of this election will be a new Labour leader hopefully Keir Starmer

GlitchStitch · 30/10/2019 12:18

It wasn't a Labour voter who murdered Jo Cox. Nor was it Labour voters who hounded Heidi Allen out of politics or who are threatening Antoinette Sandbach

I didn't say it was. Do you have any opinion on Corbyn and anti-Semitism?

BiggerBoat1 · 30/10/2019 12:20

I don't care who the leader is, I'm voting labour. This is our chance to oust Boris and get back to some semblance of real politics.

MrGsFancyNewVagina · 30/10/2019 12:28

but at least Labour make efforts to reach 50:50 men/women MPs.

You do realise that Corbyn supports self I’d, don’t you? In other words he believes that a male bodied person can simply call themselves a woman and take a place specifically intended for women. 50:50 men/women counts for nothing if anyone can say they’re a woman.

FabbyChix · 30/10/2019 12:31

I love him would love him to win

PositiveVibez · 30/10/2019 12:45

It’s punish the people who work hard for their money

Are you under the impression that people who earn minimum wage do not work hard for their money?

Or do you think that middle earners work harder?
