I know I have been glutinous but hear me out. I did a online shop, had it delivered today and got a 6 pack of Skips crisps for free. I have not had Skips crisps in many many years and was delighted to receive them. On a scale of 1 to 10 how terrible am I, to have ate all 6!?!!! It helps I was watching tv...! They really did melt in my mouth and tasted the same as I remember them.

@MarshaBradyo Was it made with chocolate chip cookies? Put in the fridge to set? My Aunt used to make that!

MarshaBradyo · 30/10/2019 21:41

Ada found it! Yes in fridge, you could use choc chip I’m sure - it was Chocolate Ripple cake

Looked like this

Abouttimemum · 30/10/2019 21:50

I eat rainbow drops and flying saucers all the time.
Spicey transform a snacks and Salt and vinegar discos are also still epic.

Abouttimemum · 30/10/2019 21:52

Viscounts have never left the supermarket shelves. You can get a whole Xmas tin of them. I can confirm they are still tasty.
Gold bars are also up there with a classic biscuit that still tastes wonderful.

Thefemalekeithrichards · 30/10/2019 21:53

Heinz sandwich spread in the glass jar

Bluewavescrashing · 30/10/2019 21:54

My DCs were very impressed with Club orange chocolate biscuits when I bought them recently. If you like a lot of chocolate on your biscuit, join our CLUB!

(They kept asking me to sing that 😊)

FizzyIce · 30/10/2019 22:21

Salt and vinegar discos (I like to lick the salt off )
Any of the what used to be ‘10p’ crisps... mmm..
Strawberry angel delight as it’s still slightly salty.
Mr Kipling apple pies with carnation milk
Zzap lollies, although they’re pretty tasteless now .
Tinned peaches in custard , had these last week 😋

SignOnTheWindow · 30/10/2019 22:27

Corned beef

MamaWeasel · 30/10/2019 22:37

I love rainbow drops, and iced gems ☺

Shannith · 30/10/2019 22:39

Oh I had a bit of a random addition to my online order this week.

A pack of raisin Clubs.

"If you like a lot of chocolate on your biscuit, join our club."

I do. I did and they are fab. Titchy though.

sam221 · 30/10/2019 22:54

That chocolate ripple cake looks amazing, never came across it. I do remember Sara Lee Chocolate Gateau, I absolutely used to love it, we had it mostly frozen and definitely only about twice a year-hence me thinking it was such a 'treat'!

ALittleBitWorried1983 · 30/10/2019 23:27

Turkey dinosaurs, beans and smiley faces, the perfect comfort dinner!

SluggishSnail · 30/10/2019 23:45

I don’t think Monster Munch taste the same, neither do Ringos but I still enjoy both.

Agree that MM isn't the same. But where are Ringos? I haven't seen them since the early 80's. They were my favourite.

I used to love Toffee Logs, they cost 2p (late 70s early 80s), the same as a Drumstick lolly but so much nicer. They used to pull my (wobbly) teeth out, so maybe not so great in middle age!

Bluerussian · 31/10/2019 08:24

I'd never heard of turkey dinosaurs and googled them; up came an advert for Bernard Matthews! I don't buy poultry from BM on principle (yes I know he isn't around any more but the company remains), they have cleaned their act up a bit whereas at one time the place was like Guantanamo for turkeys.

However, the turkey dinosaurs really do look cute and when you're a kid, you don't think much beyond liking or not liking types of food.

My packets of Viscount biscuits have arrived this morning! I ordered from Ocado.

Getoffmylilo · 31/10/2019 08:27

Angel Delight - it's just so good. I had a sherbet Dib Dab recently, wouldn't do it again. I've remained loyal to all makes and flavours of crisps they still make, Monster Munch is for life not just for lunch breaks.

HerculePoirotsGreyCells · 31/10/2019 08:43

I bought a grab bag of ringos from my local garage recently and they tasted delicious.

Raisin clubs
Curly wurly

I really want a packet of beef monster munch now...

Abouttimemum · 31/10/2019 09:22

@SluggishSnail
I love ringos, my local shop sell the pickled onion flavour ones, our local The Range sell cheesey ones but I’m not a fan of cheese (controversial I know).

missyB1 · 31/10/2019 13:35

Well another childhood favourite has been ruined! On a rare trip to M&S foodhall this morning I was so excited to see they sell walnut whips! Got home couldn’t wait to get one out of the box but what a bloody disappointment!! The chocolate was totally tasteless (I literally couldn’t taste anything), the middle wasn’t nice fluffy marshmallow, oh no it was some kind of liquid goo Sad
Oh and to add insult to injury the walnut fell off as soon as I took it out the box.

How bloody dare they ruin a walnut whip 😡

Bluerussian · 31/10/2019 14:19

That's a shame, missy. My mum used to like walnut whips.

I've had two Viscount biscuits and they don't taste nearly as nice as they did when I was a kid.

Another Angel Delight fan here - lovely stuff. I used to sometimes have it with strawberries/raspberries. Fancy some right now!

Livpool · 31/10/2019 14:36

Ruffle bars.

Hmm, I could happily eat about 10 right now

sam221 · 01/11/2019 05:21

I had a walnut whip a few years ago and I concur, they do not taste the same.
Loving all of this thread but when this weekends shopping arrives, maybe not my waist line may disagree!! Halloween Wink
