I know I have been glutinous but hear me out. I did a online shop, had it delivered today and got a 6 pack of Skips crisps for free. I have not had Skips crisps in many many years and was delighted to receive them. On a scale of 1 to 10 how terrible am I, to have ate all 6!?!!! It helps I was watching tv...! They really did melt in my mouth and tasted the same as I remember them.

Findus crispy pancakes Grin

Pixiefalls · 28/10/2019 18:49

Tinned new potatoes. We had fresh in a Sunday but a midweek dinner was with the tinned variety. I have them about once a year with a minced beef pie

CAG12 · 28/10/2019 18:50

Frazzles! My god ive rediscovered my love for Frazzles

millimollimandi · 28/10/2019 18:53

Black Jacks. Yum. On the flip side - remember Caramac? That is DISGUSTING now, used to love it...

NationMcKinley · 28/10/2019 18:55

I’ve got a real craving for potato waffles and a fried egg now

Theresnobslikeshowbs · 28/10/2019 19:35

I wish they would bring back those little bacon flavour crisps that were in the shape of little pigs, cucumber sandwich spread, 5p packets of crisps salt and vinegar, highland toffee bars, the original wham bars, and real
Cheese flavour nik naks.

Chillyourbeans · 28/10/2019 19:45

Vesta Chow Mein in a box and tinned baby carrots. Used to be Coco Pops but the bastards ruined them.

NoProblem123 · 28/10/2019 19:50

Red soup, triangle toast.

Food of the gods.

redexpat · 28/10/2019 19:57

Appletiser which only as an adult did I understand to be a pun on appertiser!

Cadburys fingers.
Club.

SecretNutellaFix · 28/10/2019 20:02

Findus crispy pancakes nowadays are pathetic. A smear of filling and they're much smaller too. Which makes them taste all rubbery becasue the filling to pancake ratio is all wrong. :(
Cheese Hamwiches are still as disgustingly brilliant as they used to be when I first had them in my teens.
Angel delight is very different- I can now no longer get the chocolate smooth when I mix it. Even with a blender, there are powdery bits every so often.

recrudescence · 28/10/2019 20:06

Wagon wheels. Still delicious after all these years.

I would be forever grateful to the person who could get me a Vesta beef risotto ... food of the Gods.

Gatekeeper · 28/10/2019 20:08

Quavers..love them

My dad would buy me a bag every Saturday night and a glass bottle of coke- me mam would get a bottle of Newky Broon and we'd watch The Generation game

MsPepperPotts · 28/10/2019 20:09

Heinz Tomato Soup...bought for DGS. it's his favourite
Fish Finger butties with ketchup both DGS loves these as well
Homemade Chip butties...had to buy a small pan with lid to make em as DGS had never had them before Grin

SuzieSunshine · 28/10/2019 20:14

Sorry to hijack slightly but I keep thinking of the packets of Potato Puffs I used to get in the playground in the late 1960's. Does anyone remember them - I think they were in a red packet with a see-through bit on the front and were full to the brim!! I'd love to be able to get them now but have never seen them again. Sorry OP - good thread though!!

AdaColeman · 28/10/2019 20:18

LU Petit Beurre biscuits, they were a favourite of my Mother, so when I spotted them recently, I had to get packet. The taste took me right back to my childhood.

Then yesterday, I was reading my old Elizabeth David cookery book, and she mentions how delicious Petit Beurre are with creamy puddings, so I need another packet of them now!

Vesta Chow Mein, I'd love to have that again, the crispy noodles were magical!

onlyhereforthefood · 28/10/2019 20:22

Skips and Frazzles yes!

None of the chocolate treats taste good any more :(

Chocolateandamaretto · 28/10/2019 20:24

Tinned stew and tinned new potatoes.

Ideally eaten in a leaky tent in a damp sleeping bag with a runny nose Grin

rosy71 · 28/10/2019 20:31

Tomato sauce flavour snaps.
I recently had some evaporated milk on apple pie. It was surprisingly nice. We used to refer to it as cream.

amusedbush · 28/10/2019 20:32

I love a jam Wagon Wheel, even if the packet gives a slightly questionable description of a ‘chocolate-style coating’ ConfusedGrin

missyB1 · 28/10/2019 20:33

Lincoln biscuits, I had some in the staff room the other day and they are still delicious dunked in my tea - difficult to find them these days though.
I would give anything for a chocolate bar from my childhood (1970s) called Triffic it was nougat covered in chocolate.

Didiplanthis · 28/10/2019 20:34

Yes to tinned new potatoes in a leaky square framed tent, with plastic windows with squares painted on them. And then in the leaking awning of the folding caravan we upgraded to !! With birds eye lamb steaks (basically lamb burgers in a funny shape !). And I'm now salivating for bananas in custard....

Basilicaofthemind · 28/10/2019 20:34

Nothing. I’m a child of the 70s and all foods were disgusting apart from sweets which no longer taste as good.

amusedbush · 28/10/2019 20:37

a leaky square framed tent, with plastic windows with squares painted on them.

Oh GOD, I just had a flashback to shivering in that exact monstrosity as a child - I’d forgotten all about it! I’m sure it will surprise absolutely nobody when I say it was styled in fetching brown and orange Grin

EggysMom · 28/10/2019 20:38

I haven't rediscovered Monster Munch, I never stopped eating them in the first place Smile
