Stop all this highly irritating coyness.

It's cycling. It's always cycling.

AliciaQuays · 13/09/2019 06:17

Oh nooo. I always imagine Mumsnet types as quite weird because they don’t answer the door or the phone. Therefore it’s some weird dungeons and dragon on line thing. (Then they get female friends they text a lot etc )

Also golf.

Templetonstunafish · 13/09/2019 06:28

Definitely cycling. I see them on the roads and think, there goes some poor MNs husband.

EmilyStar · 13/09/2019 06:31

Shan’t.

If I was to refer to DH’s hobby of creating massive marble runs in a thread, it would probably derail the thread with lots of people commenting on the marble runs instead of the actual topic of the thread.

AJPTaylor · 13/09/2019 06:31

I always think cycling or fishing. Any hobby that involves buying a special foldable bed and tent so you can sleep comfortably on a river bank for hours a time surely is an indication of someone looking for a way out? Grin

SimonJT · 13/09/2019 06:33

Maybe people should have to have a not next to their username with their partners hobby, make it a rule for signing up!

NearlyGranny · 13/09/2019 06:34

Tinkering with his classic Italian sports car. He's actually become quite a good amateur mechanic and I love whizzing through the lanes in it watching the heads turn. We put it on the ferry and he drove us to Turin and back. Can't complain!

WingBingo · 13/09/2019 06:34

@Templetonstunafish I think that too!

I went passed a cyclist last night at 6.30 and thought “there he goes, avoiding bedtime”

ClaudiaNaughton · 13/09/2019 06:35

I think of cycling.and golf as sports. Now hobby means to me stamp collecting, model trains or even train spotting.

Badabingbadabum · 13/09/2019 06:35

If the OP won't say, other posters should chose one for them. Bear-baiting. Voyeurism. Piers Morgan look-a-like.

LakieLady · 13/09/2019 06:36

DP's hobby appears to be falling asleep on the sofa.

sheshootssheimplores · 13/09/2019 06:36

My friends husband used to enjoy painting tiny figurines of an evening. I always assume it’s that.

tinyvulture · 13/09/2019 06:36

It’s usually extra-marital sex, isn’t it? Extra-marital texting, at the very least.....
Keeps them out of trouble, I suppose?

Helmetbymidnight · 13/09/2019 06:38

theyre not being coy, its cycling!

the sport that dare not speak its name.

Frangible · 13/09/2019 06:38

I’m always a bit taken aback by posters casually referring to their partners or spouses gaming for hours at a time in the evenings or at weekends ( which is usually referred to openly, not hidden as ‘his hobby’). To me that’s for adolescents with zero inner life.

bidstonbabe · 13/09/2019 06:39

It’s cycling. They meet other (female) cyclists and have a lot in common.

leafyskyline · 13/09/2019 06:40

@Templetonstunafish Definitely cycling. I see them on the roads and think, there goes some poor MNs husband.

Grin Same here! It also makes me slightly more appreciative of DH's hobby as at least its not as obnoxious as cycling. Not that I let him know that of course.

Ylvamoon · 13/09/2019 06:44

Armchair sports! Involves going round mates house all day and obviously being late home for kids bedtime.

Iggly · 13/09/2019 06:46

Why is the hobby relevant unless you wish to judge???

MarigoldGlove · 13/09/2019 06:47

I went to decathlon last week to get something for my dc's bike and the place was deserted until I turned into the cycling aisle. I could hardly get in it for all the men in their fifties examining gadgets and padded pants.

AliciaQuays · 13/09/2019 06:47

Lol @bidstonbabe. Yeah. He texts her all day about his hobby. I still trust him. Etc

AliciaQuays · 13/09/2019 06:48

Mumsnet IS judging. Wake up @Iggly

Most of the husbands I know are M.A.M.I.L’s. Annoying fuckers

AliciaQuays · 13/09/2019 06:50

Cricket though. That’s a long one
