To wear knickers to bed?

I always feel exposed if I don’t, but dh says that I’m insulating myself from the world and also that it’s more hygienic. Thoughts? I assumed most people wear knickers to bed...

What the fuck does insulating yourself from the world mean and why is it a bad thing

I can't sleep without knickers on.

I sleep in the scuddie (Scottish naked) I always say it's to let the air about it but the thunderous thighs I currently have probably restrict all air flow

I always sleep naked. It’s not healthy to wear knickers in bed. The only time I wear them to bed is during a heavy period.

In the hot weather l don’t wear knickers under my skirt, let alone in bed. No, I don’t wear short skirts or do cartwheels.

PS: What do the knickers to bed brigade do when they need sex? Take them off and put them on again?

I wear loose boxers/pyjama bottoms plus t shirt. Knickers would be too tight. Used to sleep naked but that changed after being woken during burglary with burglar in my bedroom. Feel the need to be clothed/ready for emergency now. Don’t think that will change

Every man I’ve lived with (three) couldn’t get the hang of a top sheet under the duvet over the top of us and it ended up twisted or on the floor. One of life’s little mysteries what the problem is

I can't cope with a top sheet either. Always ends up twisted into a roll at the bottom of the bed. I don't understand what the point of it is. Only find them in hotels or army parents and theater have stopped doing it since I told them we just took it off before going to bed.

@HeronLanyon your horrific experience (or a fire ) is precisely the reason I always wear PJs in bed- shorts and strappy top style usually . It started when my children were babies and I panicked that the precious seconds taken to cover myself might be seconds needed to save my babies 😳.

I also had a burglary during the night a month ago but they only went downstairs and I disturbed them stealing my car (which they couldn’t start so didn’t get away with anything except my purse with £10 😁

blobby sorry for your burglary. Thankfully my guy ran as soon as he realised he had woken us - had already taken jewellery and ran off with small tv. Unnerving. Only lingering effect is bed attire and phone always to close to hand at night. Don’t care what all the advice is about no phones in bedrooms.

I was brought up to give my fanny an airing overnight as it’s ‘healthier’ so no kickers at night for me unless it’s time of the month

It’s one of the few variables in my life 🤣

Just depends on what mood I’m in, when I gave my evening shower and how hot/cold it is!

But mostly I think pants & T-shirt when home alone & naked when not (else becomes ‘not’ very quickly anyway do seems pointless !! & I never put anything on afterwards)

If I’m cold the only thing I can sleep in is leggings & a t shirt, PJ’s just twist around and ride up on me!!

I didn’t used to be able to sleep unless I had some kind of cover at least partly over me, but living in Valencia one summer cured me of that - it was far too hot even for a sheet !!

My Mum always made me take them off at bedtime as a young child but I stopped doing it when I reached teen years. It feels weird sleeping without them, I feel exposed and find it unhygienic too.

I don't get how it airs your fanny either. Nor why a fanny would even need airing.

I always wear knickers to bed, but then i think i have a fairly heavy level of natural daily discharge, in that i also have ot wear a liner to not have a noticeably damp gusset.

I can't stand the thought of the discharge going all over my sheets, since it doesn't have the nicest smell, especially as in bed its going to be a very warm environment. It would just feel really dirty, i'd have to change sheets every day instead of just changing knickers, and i'd worry it would absorb through the sheet into the mattress and duvet.

Knickers in bed can't sleep otherwise. Yep clean ones in after sex. Exh hated it duck him

Seriously though, yes, you take them off and either put them back on or put clean ones on or crash out with none because you have had the most exhausting sesh.

Depends for me on time of month. During ovulation I find I need to but sometimes I can’t bear wearing any. But still wear a nightdress or PJ’s, which don’t touch as closely

I don't wear knickers in the day if i can avoid it, mid length dresses or leggings i bloody hate underwear i couldnt sleep if i had to wear any sort of pj's let alone knickers

I don't wear knickers if I'm wearing pjs or a nightshirt/night dress or pj shorts. I might wear them as shorts when it's hot with a bra top. I was always told when I was little not to wear them because your bum/fanny needs to 'breathe'. So I told my dd the same! Think that's to do with thrush.
