To wear knickers to bed?

Blue2309 · 16/08/2019 22:36

I always feel exposed if I don’t, but dh says that I’m insulating myself from the world and also that it’s more hygienic. Thoughts? I assumed most people wear knickers to bed...

Big pants and a T shirt.

ginandwine · 16/08/2019 23:49

What about discharge!?? How much discharge are you getting to not be able to sleep with no knickers on??
Can never say I've slept
With no knickers on and had "discharge" everywhere 🥴🥴

Fizzpopwhizzbang · 16/08/2019 23:51

Sometimes I sleep naked, sometimes I'm just in knickers, and sometimes I'm in full PJs. Sometimes just one of DH's shirts with no knickers.

Just whatever feels comfortable at the time. It changes with my mood.

Spacerader · 16/08/2019 23:52

I hate wearing anything to bed at all. I fidget a lot and find I get wrapped up in pjs and just find any sort of clothes even knickers restricting.

The only time I will wear knickers to bed is if I am on my period. Also if it’s very cold I may put pjs on but you can gurantee that once I have warmed up or half way through the night I will wake and have to take them off again.

But I must always have a blanket on me, even lounging in the sofa I like a blanket

bouncingraindrops · 16/08/2019 23:59

Why are posters saying theyd worry about discharge?

What about discharge!?? How much discharge are you getting to not be able to sleep with no knickers on?

Is it really beyond people understanding Sad

Some women have more discharge than others.

This comes up in these threads every time. Here we have women, having a pop at other women, because of a natural bodily function which just happens to be a little bit different to their own.

How about just don't do that 🤷‍♀️

Likethebattle · 17/08/2019 00:00

@cakesandphotos I feel the same. Have no
Idea why but feel i’ll Wet myself if I have no pants.

Well said

Bouledeneige · 17/08/2019 00:02

I agree with letting your bits breath. Its natural to be naked. Not dirty.

FarTooMuchWashing · 17/08/2019 00:05

Wearing knickers is my absolute minimum. Mostly I add a top/t-shirt, and in the winter I also have pj bottoms.
No knockers and I don’t feel ‘right’.

GoAwayRain · 17/08/2019 00:06

I'm heavily incontinent so I wear huggies pull up type pants overnight 😞
Prior to that I never wore knickers or anything else in bed.

BarbedBloom · 17/08/2019 00:08

Always sleep naked. Dressing gown on back of door if there was a fire. My husband is like a radiator anyway and I get tangled in clothes.

joystir59 · 17/08/2019 00:09

What if a spider rubbed its willy on your bum

justjuggling · 17/08/2019 00:12

No knickers! Feel better getting some air to that region at night!

Yerroblemom1923 · 17/08/2019 00:15

I worry about if there was a fire. If you're in your pjs it saves time getting out of the house. Also if you wash/ shower before bed you don't need to change pjs daily (or at least I don't as I'm clean putting them on!)
Also where I live there's no way I'd be sleeping naked in the winter months! (The North!)

LazyLemur · 17/08/2019 00:15

When I was a child I wasnt allowed to wear knickers to bed and the crutch of PJ bottoms used to creep up my crack every night. Front to back crack-chafe is not more bloody healthy, I can tell you Sad

highheelsandbobblehats · 17/08/2019 00:18

I don't mind if a spider rubs his willy on my bum @joystir59. It's got to get past the duvet to do that. Better than doing it on my exposed face on the pillow.

greenlynx · 17/08/2019 00:21

I always wear knickers to bed plus pjs or nightdress. I can’t sleep naked. It feels cold, sticky, unhygienic and just not right. Also my periods were very irregular in the past.
I don’t get this idea about breathing bits. Trying to work out now which one is breathing in and which one is out...

Ibizama · 17/08/2019 00:21

Yuck to the bloke commenting on this thread.

diege · 17/08/2019 00:36

Yes and he mentioned 'panties' too 🤣🤣🤣

LemonPrism · 17/08/2019 01:33

I'd feel gross with them on.. let her breathe or you're just keeping her all musty and enclosed

Winterlife · 17/08/2019 01:44

I used to sleep in the nude. When our kids were little I started wearing pajamas. I noticed no difference in health. Now that old, I wear pajamas because I vacillate between hot and cold.

MockingJay27 · 17/08/2019 08:25

Always cotton knickers and never had thrush in my life. Your fanny doesn't need to breath that much 😂

@LazyLemur hahaha that's hilarious

Elieza · 17/08/2019 08:46

Forgot to say that when I had a gyn issue, the specialist said I should only wear white cotton knickers - and none at night at all.
Didn’t make a blind bit of difference to anything.
I’m a lifetime member of the knicker and jammies club, and I’ve only had thrush a few times in my life.

Idontwanttotalk · 17/08/2019 08:58

"Yuck to the bloke commenting on this thread."
When a man has started a thread women comment on it so why shouldn't a man comment? It is unkind if you to use the word yuck about it.

The OP started the thread because of her DH's opinion about knickers in bed so why is it wrong for another man to comment?

All posters of any sex are welcome.

CharityDingle · 17/08/2019 11:54

I don’t get this idea about breathing bits. Trying to work out now which one is breathing in and which one is out.

Oh these 'knickers in bed or not' threads are never complete without talk of 'breathing' Grin
