It's Tuesday night. Brexit and other awful stuff dominates the news. Cheer me up please and tell me what you have bought from the aisle of randomness.

I went in today for Bread and Milk. And came out with a glue gun and a pair of swimming goggles (Damn you, DD)

I'm of a certain age. I remember the Victoria Wood sketch where she said if you can't get me a raspberry yoghurt, get me something else. So her friend got her a meat and potato pie...

If I get a glue gun will it help me make something with my 30 odd bits of fabric? 🤔

ConorMcGregorsChin · 16/08/2019 09:56

@galvantula Yes apparently there are crafty things you can do with a glue gun and many random pieces of fabric that you may have squirrelled away. (I've had to search as I went back to Aldi and bought the tie dye kit yesterday!)

Here's a starter for 10 for anyone who bought the glue gun and like me, is a bit clueless.

Yesterday I went to Sainsbury's on purpose to avoid middle of Lidl. Too close to payday for that temptation so went where I'd only buy bananas, bread & milk. All I needed. Only they had a clearance on camping gear & accessories. We now have 2 more inflatable pillows, travel towels, new camping chairs, toy story blanket for the boy, tent pegs & various utensils with those clip on hooky things 🤷🏻‍♀️

Sadly no glue guns and no tie dye kits on my visit, but they do still have loads of chalk paint (as a profilic doer-upper I can recommend - at just £4.99 a tin, it's as good as any fancier, more expensive stuff I've bought).

What they did have however was spray cans of Gold and Silver Upcycling paint. I was soooooo tempted, but I really don't have anything I want to paint gold or silver, so I resisted, which I now regret deeply.

Y'know with Christmas coming up and all Confused there are BOUND to be things I need to paint Gold and Silver aren't there? I mean it goes without saying doesn't it?

I've felt all agitated since .... why oh why didn't I pick up a few cans ... it was only £3.99 after all, and they were big cans too. I could kick myself.

So today I'm gonna have to do the 16 mile round trip and go back and get some, because you just know that by next week they will be sold out.

@Tarocchi I can't get the chalk paint and spray paint out of my mind. I only have a half mile to go to Aldi, but my bank balance is telling me I can do stuff with the glitter glue gun. Maybe pine cones or such like.
Oh my, I do love spray paint though..

@suzuki650 just back from uniform shop at Sainsbury's. Saw the reduced camping and gardening stuff. Managed to resist. Have to go back tomorrow though to pick up an Argos order. Tempted to leave my debit card at home!
