It's Tuesday night. Brexit and other awful stuff dominates the news. Cheer me up please and tell me what you have bought from the aisle of randomness.

I went in today for Bread and Milk. And came out with a glue gun and a pair of swimming goggles (Damn you, DD)

I'm of a certain age. I remember the Victoria Wood sketch where she said if you can't get me a raspberry yoghurt, get me something else. So her friend got her a meat and potato pie...

I popped in for milk and came out with a 1.6m inflatable mermaid shell lilo! Shock#shoppingwithkids

Meckity1 · 13/08/2019 21:39

I also got £50 worth of lavender plants from Lidl, which I wsn't prepared for.

Tarocchi · 13/08/2019 21:40

My recent trip to Aldi for a food shop resulted in me buying three tins of Chalk paint (for only a fiver each and I'd paid sixteen quid for a same size tin elsewhere the day before) and two gorgeous Chindi Rugs for four quid each!

I'm going again tomorrow, and if they've got any glue guns I'm having one!

Babybrainstill · 13/08/2019 21:41

I'm in stitches here 😂

LadyRannaldini · 13/08/2019 21:42

I once went to Asda and bought a house!

Snooks1971 · 13/08/2019 21:42

i went in for bread and came out with bread, peanut butter and something else I have forgotten, oh avocadoes, beautiful ripe avocadoes.

I only allow myself a wander once a week and either Aldi or Lidl but not both. I am too interested in the Aisles of Wonder. If I go in for any extras it is no basket and only what I can carry to the car without a bag.

JapaneseBirdPainting · 13/08/2019 21:50

We went to Lapland a few years back and I swear every child on the Easyjet flight had the same Aldi thermals on. (They were sort of a mottled pink or blue)

BikeRunSki · 13/08/2019 21:50

About a year ago I went in for bread and bananas, and cane out with a table tennis table.

ConorMcGregorsChin · 13/08/2019 21:50

OMG good to know I'm not the only one!
Some of the replies on here are bloody priceless. Thank You!

Has to be one of the funniest things I’ve read in all the fifteen years I’ve been on here. Wtf?! 😂

Limt · 13/08/2019 21:54

I went into Lidl for chocolate mousse a few weeks back, came out with a chrome thing that goes in the corner of the shower. It's now rusty.

howwudufeel · 13/08/2019 21:56

I went in last week for a few essentials and came out with a pair of hiking boots.

HelpIcantfindaname · 13/08/2019 21:59

Got a light up make up mirror & forgot the milk .. but to be fair, the mirror is good & I actually use it every day!

Benjispruce · 13/08/2019 22:00

Went in for food shop today and came out with aqua shoes.

Boysey45 · 13/08/2019 22:01

Its the random placement of items that I find funny. You'll get mens work socks next to cuprinol and then some Italian biscuits or mini malt loafs next to chainsaw blades.

Witsendagain · 13/08/2019 22:01

Before I moved country I went to aldi for a pint of milk and (after a full on hormonal meltdown in the middle of the Isle of Regret because dp said I couldn't have it cos we'd never use it) came out with a travel cot.
He was right. It went to the car boot unopened 🤦

Witsendagain · 13/08/2019 22:04

Gem89415 please please say aldi is going to stock the mio solo reusable nappies again!🙏

londonrach · 13/08/2019 22:06

I went to Lidl today and came back having paid for 32 olive oil handwash...which is even more amazing as i had one bag and dd hand in the other. Returned to store from the car park (when i checked receipt) to have the cost of 31 olive oil handwash returned. 🛀🛀🛀🛀. Not such a clean get away but manager was apologic (however it spelt) about it
