It's Tuesday night. Brexit and other awful stuff dominates the news. Cheer me up please and tell me what you have bought from the aisle of randomness.

I went in today for Bread and Milk. And came out with a glue gun and a pair of swimming goggles (Damn you, DD)

I'm of a certain age. I remember the Victoria Wood sketch where she said if you can't get me a raspberry yoghurt, get me something else. So her friend got her a meat and potato pie...

The 'posh' handwashes...they're amazing .(around 75p) gin & rhubarb and a gorgeous bergamot one!!
What a bargain ☺️🤫👍

EileenAlanna · 14/08/2019 01:33

Oh!! Oh!!! @JapaneseBirdPainting They've got JODHPURS!!!!! www.aldi.co.uk/crane-ladies%27-riding-jodhpurs/p/084769228451200

@Gem89415 I love Aldi, adore the aisles of impossible dreams, but I live for Aldi's Cromwell Sherry. Why do they not sell it on line? I toss & turn at nights trying to work out the logic behind it but I can't - there is no logic.
For the love of god please use your powers for good & make an old woman very happy Wine Wine Wine

Gooseysgirl · 14/08/2019 03:56

I went for bread and came home with a veg spiraliser thingy that looks like a giant pencil sharpener - inevitably sharpened my finger while using it...

Mildpanic · 14/08/2019 05:10

@ConorMcGregorsChin I am now in a complete panic about how to fit aldi trip into my working week Hmm

That happened to me once - a friend was going on a day trip to France and said she'd get me some perfume for my upcoming birthday. She asked which one and I said "Clinique Happy but if you can't get that, get something else." She got me a hot water bottle. Close.

Els1e · 14/08/2019 07:15

A staple gun! I now have plans to reupholster the kitchen chairs. We call it the aisle of things you never knew you really needed.

PurpleFlower1983 · 14/08/2019 07:18

I went for milk and bought a folding camping table and 4 chairs for £29.99 Grin

sueelleker · 14/08/2019 07:21

Those Aldi dog beds are great-my 2 love it.

Swishyswash · 14/08/2019 07:22

I have a Lidl dinghy. Haven't taken it out of the box but it makes me smile!

Areyoufree · 14/08/2019 07:24

Did you actually have any use for the dinghi? I imagine you as the person who lives in the Midlands who would win the speedboat on Bullseye

It's posts like this that remind me why I still read these forums.

LagunaBubbles · 14/08/2019 07:27

millimollimandi

I have dingy envy! Was in Lidl a few weeks ago and saw that dingy, would be perfect for our holiday next year but sadly I was skint. Grin

Bottledate · 14/08/2019 07:29

This thread has tempted me to go back (having resisted) and buy not the glue gun, but the coloured glittery glue sticks for the guns.

I'm not sure what the point of glittery glue is when being used to stick things - but I felt that I needed them!

EleanorReally · 14/08/2019 07:33

a lovely loo seat

TellerTuesday4EVA · 14/08/2019 07:41

I love the 'corridor of shite' couldn't even begin to list the amount of crap I've bought that I didn't need from there over the years.

I'm trying to live frugally while I concentrate on paying off my credit card so avoid it like the plague at the minute.

Badmgr · 14/08/2019 07:42

I’m not an impulse shopper at all (or so I thought) but went to Aldi for a few essentials and came out with a netball post. I don’t play netball. But maybe I’ll try now..

KUGA · 14/08/2019 08:23

Yep, been there, done that ,will be doing it again at some point today
and tomorrow.
Its great fun,my husband calls me his happy shopper. He sometimes asks what are you going to do with it { whatever it is ]. I say I dont know, but will let you know when I do know.
We always laugh about it.
Then when I do use it.
I say yehhh told you it would come in handy.
More laughter.

ConorMcGregorsChin · 14/08/2019 08:53

For anyone contemplating the hour gun - this is it. I checked and they still had lots left. And I may have had to dash back for the pack of glitter glue sticks.
I imagine I'll probably find this in the loft in 10 years time...

I went to Aldi today and I bought...

Glue. Not hour

It's the aisle of plenty in this house!

Sadly my last trip was too rushed to pick up anything... and they'd run out of the nice croissants 😫😫

GummyGoddess · 14/08/2019 09:05

@Bottledate you can make designs on things with hot glue?

queenMab99 · 14/08/2019 09:16

My husband loved Aldi and Lidl middle ailses, I have a shed full of large gardening and diy equipment that I can't even lift, never mind use!
For 6 months after he died, I used to cry on the way home from Lidl because he was missing some gardening bargain he would have loved!
I got a dog for company and exercise, so now my garden is full of dog agility
equipmentGrin from Lidl !

glueandstick · 14/08/2019 10:27

Went in to look for a tie dye kit. Came out with a clematis.

Meangirls36 · 14/08/2019 11:05

Goddamit I need a glitter glue gun is that Lidl or aldi

TrickyD · 14/08/2019 11:13

Apparently Aldi have some wonderful tie-dye kits in at the moment. Beautiful colours, and I have seen lots of teeshirts and cushions on FB done by crafty people.

Actually I hate tie-dye yet I yearn for these kits.
