It's Tuesday night. Brexit and other awful stuff dominates the news. Cheer me up please and tell me what you have bought from the aisle of randomness.

I went in today for Bread and Milk. And came out with a glue gun and a pair of swimming goggles (Damn you, DD)

I'm of a certain age. I remember the Victoria Wood sketch where she said if you can't get me a raspberry yoghurt, get me something else. So her friend got her a meat and potato pie...

I'm waiting for the baby and toddler event Thursday, been pre browsing online and discovered a 30% off old special buys sale!

I Went to Morrison’s for ice cream, came back with a pritt stick, pens, a hot water bottle and almost an aloe Vera plant but I put it back because I got distracted by the pens...

TheOrigFV45 · 13/08/2019 22:08

I bought a halter and a hay net once. I don't own a horse. Or ride.

What the actual heck?! How how how? WHY?!
Cracking up.

Artykitty666 · 13/08/2019 22:09

No no no, don't call it the aisle of shite. We call it

"the aisle of mysterious things"

Spicylolly · 13/08/2019 22:09

Went in for milk, came out with a hammock.

GummyGoddess · 13/08/2019 22:11

Those farmhouse jars are great, DH eats the yoghurt and I then use them for kitchen storage. They appear to be airtight and I am slowly uniforming my storage.

They have a paint sprayer in there at the moment, I've always wanted one but I can't justify it.

I went in to get their apple biscotti a few months ago and came out with bum moisturiser (it smells like holiday alcohol, I just like to open it and smell it sometimes), chocolate, seaweed and a crafting jar for my 2 year old.

swapsicles · 13/08/2019 22:11

I went for a few bits and also came back with a cat bed that has ears! Dcat loves it though,
i have previously gone in specifically to pick up babybel cardboard boxes as the other cats were fighting over the one i had

glueandstick · 13/08/2019 22:12

I want a tie dye kit but they are all sold out here :(

Benjispruce · 13/08/2019 22:12

What’s holiday alcohol?

topcat2014 · 13/08/2019 22:12

@ConorMcGregorsChin - I remember Julie Walters talking about VW (after her death) saying one of the saddest things being that VW would have made a very funny 'older' person.

I remember the meat & potato line too.

IIRC the person buying it was called 'Sandra'

GummyGoddess · 13/08/2019 22:15

@Benjispruce the only name I can think of is Malibu, but it doesn't smell like Malibu, just that general type of scent.

petrocellihouse · 13/08/2019 22:16

I went in for maple bacon and came out with a hand held gadget for cleaning Venetian blinds. I don’t have blinds of any sort fitted to any windows!

Benjispruce · 13/08/2019 22:17

I love a Malibu but Aldi’s own is called Castaway and almost as nice. I love the copycat names.

3dogs2cats · 13/08/2019 22:18

Dh went to Lidl today for bread and milk, and bought bread and milk. We were all very disappointed.

MissBehaves · 13/08/2019 22:19

I went into Aldi for wine... came out with a snorkel mask & flippers set. (& wine) Wine

Ariela · 13/08/2019 22:22

I went in yesterday for milk. They had no 4-pinters. I didn't want a load of 2 pints as they wast too much space in the door. I bought nothing, because I knew I'd also pass M&S on the way home.
Won't list all the yummy-but-I-don't NEED-it food I came out with.

I reckon M&S is just a posh foodie version of Aldi - loads of weird but very nice food crap you don't actually need.

Youwanapizzame · 13/08/2019 22:25

@3dogs2cats surely you need to ltb?

tolerable · 13/08/2019 22:29

pain chocolat and a dental polishing kit(of course)

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 13/08/2019 22:30

I went to Aldi once for my weekly shop... And failed to buy a flamethrower as I left my ID at home. DH was most displeased as he then had to make a special trip for it!

On ski wear week we got there 30mins after opening and had to fight through the crowds to get stuff in the right sizes.

choosetobebetter · 13/08/2019 22:31

Going to Aldi tomorrow then. I need the hot glue gun snorkel and flippers set and of course the mermaid slime for DD. Love the isle of random!!!

AnnonniMoose · 13/08/2019 22:32

I am very proud of myself - just got back from a big shop at Aldi and I didn't get one single thing from the aisle of shite Grin Grin.

LaurieMarlow · 13/08/2019 22:34

We call it the middle aisle o’ madness Grin

Impulse bought a paddling pool a few weeks ago.

Carrotcakeforbreakfast · 13/08/2019 22:34

I went to aldi for milk today.

Came home with milk, a tie dye kit, a footstool ( which is so lovely and a total bargain) and a red diffuser.

myidentitymycrisis · 13/08/2019 22:35

My most recent random purchase at Lidl was a battery powered foot file.
