Does my wedding sound shit? Be honest

Hi all,

I just wanted to gather opinions on my wedding later this month. I didn't want a big do so went small and now it's getting closer, I'm scared people will think "well this is crap Hmm".

Basically, 19 guests in total. This is includes bride/groom and our child. Mainly family but also each of our best friends and their partners.

We are having the whole day/eve in a hotel.

We have a drinks reception following the ceremony, a three course meal, wedding cake, and pizza for later in the eve with drinks (all of this is in a private function room)

During the meal we have bottles of wine and beer paid for by us and a glass of fizz each for the toast. We have a small not exciting chocolate based favour for each guest. A gift for the b/g parents, best man and bridesmaid.

We don't have music entertainment as it seemed a bit over the top given the party size so we have arranged a playlist to be played over the speaker.

I'm worried guests will be bored?! Is there anything I can add? Am I missing anything?

Thank you all for your congratulations.

Our ceremony is at 3pm and I think (don't remember exactly) our meal is at 4:30.

I'm not entirely convinced everyone will be hungry for pizza but I didn't want to take the risk that people will want food to pick at and we didn't give them any.

The main bar area has a big lounge which serves bar food so if we move from our function room to that area, I'm sure we can have our nibbly pizza there.

As for extra guests on the evening we are purposely not doing that as we wanted just family pretty much. Really appreciate the suggestions though!

I've not read all the replies but we had a small wedding too so no DJ & our guests weren't the dancing type anyway so we brought/borrowed some giant games to play (Jenga, connect four etc) and they went down a treat

Pizza is actually a bit of a jokey one too as our family always jokes to us that we order too much take out pizza so it's fitting that's what we are feeding them in the evening Grin

OP I think it sounds absolutely lovely!! I only had 16 people at my wedding including myself and my husband 21 years ago and my parents did a buffet afterwards at their house. It was a lovely lovely day and I particularly remember my best friend's husband commenting on what a lovely intimate and relaxed day it was.

Have a lovely day!! xx

Sounds like ours. We made the Order of Service thing ourselves and in the back printed the names of all the guests and their relationship to us/connection to us.

MamaLazarou · 01/08/2019 20:08

YABU for saying 'nibbly pizza'. Grin Sounds like a wonderful day, hope you have an amazing time! Congratulations Flowers

KnifeAngel · 01/08/2019 20:10

I would offer an alternative to pizza as well. We went to a wedding recently and the food was pizza. None of us eat cheese so there was nothing we could eat.

bobstersmum · 01/08/2019 20:11

It sounds perfect! Can I come?

Lolly25 · 01/08/2019 20:23

Sounds totally perfect to me.

CuntyMcBollocks · 01/08/2019 20:25

I think it sounds great! All the best to you.

Fishcakey · 01/08/2019 20:26

As someone who went to Gretna to escape the fuss I think it sounds perfect! I hope you have a gorgeous day.

Whodrankallmygin · 01/08/2019 20:29

I'd love to attend something like this, your guests will love it. Hard I know, but remember guests are there to see you get married not judge your wedding. But I'd much rather attend something like this than a massive wedding (nothing wrong with them I'm just not very social and struggle in big crowds!)

inspiredfood · 01/08/2019 20:48

@MamaLazarou fair dos, apologies! GrinBlush

I hate going to weddings generally but I'd love to go to this one, sounds unpretentious, relaxed and like you will actually be able to enjoy the day yourselves.

Kko1986 · 01/08/2019 22:35

Well done for doing it your way xxx this is yours and your future husband's day so just focus on that.
We had a registry office wedding then to the local hall for a hog roast and we loved it x
