To feel sorry for Meghan Markle - she looked lonely holding baby Archie at the Polo game

Did anyone else think Meghan Markle looked sad and lonely while holding baby Archie at Harry's polo game yesterday? There she was in the sunshine with her new baby while approx 2 metres away was her sister in law Kate completely wrapped up in her own children looking smug and not even glancing in poor Meghan's direction. There were loads of pictures taken and not one showed her chatting to Meghan or even looking at her, complete zero effort. The only ones who seemed to interact with Meghan and Archie were 1 year old Prince Louis and Harry when he finished the game! Kate is obviously not as sweet or friendly as she'd like the public to believe. Meghan gets so much criticism but she comes across as more down to earth and genuine.

LaurieMarlow - the difference between the two couples is that William and Kate will eventually be King and Queen and therefore are more important in the way of things! Sorry but that's just how it is. They can expect to have a home which has more spent on it than someone 6th in line. Look at the difference between Charles and his brothers/sister? It's the same situation.

DonkeyHohtay · 11/07/2019 18:08

Meghan and Kate are NOT sisters in law.

Meghan is William's sister in law.
Kate is Harry's sister in law.

There is no word to describe the relationship between two unrelated women who are married to siblings.

Ginger1982 · 11/07/2019 18:10

@DonkeyHohtay why does it matter? I call my SIL's DH my BIL and my BIL's DW my SIL 🤷🏼‍♀️

Postmissposte · 11/07/2019 18:11

I feel sorry for people who find this stuff interesting.

LaurieMarlow · 11/07/2019 18:13

And the Cambridge’s did spend more money on it.

H&M are still high profile working royals. They get allowances.

I don’t think you actually have a point here.

Smokeonthewater · 11/07/2019 18:13

I thought there was a big contrast between how she seemed last year to this year. Her confidence seems much finished and she didn’t look happy, but her circumstances are totally different now. To me she didn’t look that confident with the baby so I wondered if her nanny does a lot . But being out in the heat with loads of people and cameras trained in you is daunting for any new mother. I couldn’t understand why she didn’t put Archie in a peak in the shade rather than carry him round awkwardly without a hat. He looks heavy and it wouldn’t be easy to relax. She looked preoccupied and anxious to me.
Kate was busy with her three. I didn’t see any interaction between them in the photos, but that doesn’t mean there wasn’t any.
I think M is in a role now which is taking some adjusting to. It must be hard.

DonkeyHohtay · 11/07/2019 18:14

Call yourself what you like Ginger, no skin off my nose. But your sister in law is either:

  • your brother's wife
  • your husband's sister
Smokeonthewater · 11/07/2019 18:15

Pram not peak!
Diminished not finished!

W0rriedMum · 11/07/2019 18:16

I find it disturbing the way the Daily Mail is out to portray Meghan in the most negative way possible. They say things like "she dressed down in a £500 dress" knowing it'll inflame their readers. The comments are absolute vitriolic - she can't hold her baby, she looks terrible etc.
We need to give her space and peace to just exist with her newborn.
I hope she doesn't follow the media coverage.

PCohle · 11/07/2019 18:17

Kate was only one month post partum at Harry and Meghan's wedding and she didn't seem to get much sympathy for having to get dolled up.

Not sure why some posters think they're the all-caps arbiter of how to correctly define familial relationships.

SleepingStandingUp · 11/07/2019 18:18

so I wondered if her nanny does a lot if you listen to the gossip pages, quite the opposite. The rumours are that she barely let her own Mum near him, and the Nannies keep leaving because they're basically not allowed to touch

janebond007 · 11/07/2019 18:21

She didn't need to be there at all and could have put Archie in a sling or buggy. It was all very posed and deliberate

Also the dress was horrible

mummmy2017 · 11/07/2019 18:23

If you look Kate is next to Meghan, but photos were cropped.

I thought it was just the papers causing beef to sell papers and click bait.

Mishappening · 11/07/2019 18:23

I think it is very clear indeed from these photos that this poor poor woman has a serious case of social anxiety, possibly induced by post-natal depression and insecurity as the child of a broken marriage. She might also have a broken leg, or more likely piles. Or she might be worrying about how she is going to make ends meet.

I feel so very sorry for her.

Thump · 11/07/2019 18:28

Kate has a toddler and another two rambunctious children to look after!
I'm sure she handed Archie straight back to the Nanny once out of shot... Bless her little heart. She has it hard.

LaurieMarlow · 11/07/2019 18:29

She didn't need to be there at all and could have put Archie in a sling or buggy. It was all very posed and deliberate

Haha. Choked laughing at this.

So she should have stayed away or kept the baby out of sight and then there’d be hoards whinging because they didn’t get to see the baby.

But what she did was ‘posed’ Hmm

Poor woman really can’t win.

IncandescentShadow · 11/07/2019 18:32

The woman is having a nice day out! Why would anyone feel sorry for her? How ridiculous.

What does cause me to feel sorry for her slightly is the fact that she has to put up with a vast fortune being spent on a large PR team, who so often get it wrong. They seem to swing wildly from pedalling this notion that people should feel sorry for her, to picking on people and demonising members of the public who dare to comment.

Sometimes less is more. The Cambridge's PR team seem to be a far slicker operation, and produce much better results. They come across as a really nice family and even slightly down to earth.

Ginger1982 · 11/07/2019 18:33

@DonkeyHohtay yes you don't have to spell it out...🙄

NeckPainChairSearch · 11/07/2019 18:34

The vindictive, mindless shite on these threads is incredible.

Way to make yourselves sound like ignorant bullies with zero critical thinking skills, guys.

JacquesHammer · 11/07/2019 18:41

Well I for one find these threads really useful.

They’re a sure fire way of indicating which posters don’t have two brain cells to rub together.

The arm chair diagnosis are hilarious.

NotExactlyHappyToHelp · 11/07/2019 18:43

I thought Meghans dress was alright. Bit shapeless towards the bottom but who can blame her for that?! I was still in my maternity clothes at that point.

We can speculate and analyse til the cows come home but unless either of them spills the beans like Diana did we will never ever know. Meghan could be awful, Kate could be stuck up, they could be the best of friends or anything in between.

theunrivalledjoysofparenting · 11/07/2019 18:44

She looked very awkward holding the baby and her dress! £545 and it looks like a creased sack.

Moknicker · 11/07/2019 18:46

I really dont care much about MM but these posts about her are really sad.

People don’t want to speak honestly about the real issue: they don’t believe a black woman has a place in the royal family.

www.vanityfair.com/style/2019/04/meghan-markle-tabloids-racism-sexism

Shes a new mum and like a lot of us trying to figure it out. Just because shes rich doesnt make her any less deserving of our empathy.

crispysausagerolls · 11/07/2019 18:51

Royal or no royal, like her or not, it pisses me off when a mother needs sunglasses for herself (or a hat etc) but doesn’t bother with her own baby. What the fuck is that. Archie is very pale and needed a hat 🤷🏻‍♀️

neveradullmoment99 · 11/07/2019 18:51

I feel sorry for her because people won’t leave her alone.

I have zero sympathy. She is public property now. She knew what she was getting into. I have zero interest in the royal family and think they should get rid of them. Complete leaches.
