To feel sorry for Meghan Markle - she looked lonely holding baby Archie at the Polo game

Did anyone else think Meghan Markle looked sad and lonely while holding baby Archie at Harry's polo game yesterday? There she was in the sunshine with her new baby while approx 2 metres away was her sister in law Kate completely wrapped up in her own children looking smug and not even glancing in poor Meghan's direction. There were loads of pictures taken and not one showed her chatting to Meghan or even looking at her, complete zero effort. The only ones who seemed to interact with Meghan and Archie were 1 year old Prince Louis and Harry when he finished the game! Kate is obviously not as sweet or friendly as she'd like the public to believe. Meghan gets so much criticism but she comes across as more down to earth and genuine.

Ginger1982 · 11/07/2019 17:38

@AmeriAnn maybe she's not breastfeeding? 🤷🏼‍♀️

CallaLilli · 11/07/2019 17:39

@Picasso1975 what planet are you on??

NeckPainChairSearch · 11/07/2019 17:40

Lots of people are just fucking dumb and the daily mail play them like fiddles

This nails it really.

Crafting1Queen · 11/07/2019 17:40

Here, have my first ever Biscuit.

I cannot fathom this nonsense about how she's holding the baby... She does yoga. I imagine she can hold her own body weight on a couple of fingers and drink tea at the same time... She is very strong and fit.
. The baby is nuzzling into his mums chest!

Where he wants to be most in entire world! Close to his mum, heart beat and milk supply.

Beyond ridiculous.

There must be some sort of agreement about photography at the polo, where their husbands are often playing for charity. You don't see pap shots of the royals "relaxing" on the beach or soft play or anything (except perhaps in the foreign press, but they don't get published in the UK), but you do at the polo or horse trials. I could imagine after the criticism recently someone may have suggested it would be a good idea to get the baby out for five minutes, hence whilst she's sort of awkwardly holding him rather than letting him doze in a pram or sling. But if he wasn't comfy he'd soon let her know, as babies tend to do. The dress isn't my bag but it looks ok on her, and she's two months PP fgs!

Kate was running about after a one year old, four and five year old, the last of whom was poking his sister with a polo stick and crawling over the back headrests of the car at one point. I don't think it's fair to criticise her for not sticking to her SIL's side the whole time when she's got that on her plate. She probably also wanted to, you know, spend time with her kids Confused

These are quite literally snapshots of these people's lives, and they're often choreographed to a degree. So I wouldn't read into anything about them whatsoever.

The cambridge kids sound a "handful"

MaybeitsMaybelline · 11/07/2019 17:48

She looked perfectly ok at Wimbledon on her own.

DidItAgainOops · 11/07/2019 17:49

The Cambridge children are very good looking aren’t they?

Ringdonna · 11/07/2019 17:54

Who cares?

BackInTime · 11/07/2019 17:55

New mums are under enough pressure without having to also deal with being photographed and criticised and compared to others. The pressure to be perfect must be immense. I think she is pretty brave for venturing out considering all the scrutiny that she is under.

Charley34 · 11/07/2019 17:56

Fgs Leave the Sussexes and the Cambridges alone !

MitziK · 11/07/2019 17:56

The dress is unsuitable for breastfeeding? Did you expect her to get her tits out for an extra photo opportunity?

It's airy in hot weather, doesn't cling to the post baby tummy (which I'd be trying to hide, even without knowing millions of people would be looking at it - and some taking the piss that I looked fat) and, in any case, whether she had a straightforward birth, separated abdominal muscles or a section, this short a time after birth, most of us still look bloody uncomfortable standing about (or considering the logistics of sitting on the grass and having to get back up again) for ages in the sunshine.

Pleasebequietnow · 11/07/2019 17:58

I thought Megan looked wrapped up in her newborn and content chilling with Kate and her nephews/niece. Did we see the same photos Confused

Confused
MilkTrayLimeBarrel · 11/07/2019 18:02

Well the dress did her no favours at all - it was absolutely awful! Like a green potato sack.

Waveysnail · 11/07/2019 18:02

Or Megan's completely knackered and sitting in a zombie state not really wanting to chit chat

Sceptre86 · 11/07/2019 18:03

Not all new mothers want or need advice. All kids are individuals, for example what worked for mine might not have worked for yours. It's hard to tell from photos what was going on as the press only put out what they like. Both women would have had security with them and nannies probably too so I doubt Meghan would have been all alone with her baby. Also, why should sister in laws be the best if friends, I am fine with mine in small doses but have nothing in common with her and do not want to be friends. Thankfully my sil feels the same, we are just two women who married two very different men that happen to be brothers. Why do people always feel the need to raise one of them up by putting the other down, they are two different women, raised in different cultures, countries and families?

00100001 · 11/07/2019 18:03

"Poor woman didn't come prepared because she thought being a 'Princess' there would be posh chairs provided. There was no way she was going to sit on the grass - so she stood the whole time.
Kate, on the other hand came prepared, with her tupperware and blankets. "

It's almost as if Kate has been a parent for nearly 6 years...

DidItAgainOops · 11/07/2019 18:06

@00100001

Oh I dunno. I think William is still good looking. Just with a lot less hair that’s all.

NoSauce · 11/07/2019 18:06

I thought the dress was great. I prefer it to the sort of stuff Kate wears if I’m honest which imo is far to old for her.
