To feel sorry for Meghan Markle - she looked lonely holding baby Archie at the Polo game

Did anyone else think Meghan Markle looked sad and lonely while holding baby Archie at Harry's polo game yesterday? There she was in the sunshine with her new baby while approx 2 metres away was her sister in law Kate completely wrapped up in her own children looking smug and not even glancing in poor Meghan's direction. There were loads of pictures taken and not one showed her chatting to Meghan or even looking at her, complete zero effort. The only ones who seemed to interact with Meghan and Archie were 1 year old Prince Louis and Harry when he finished the game! Kate is obviously not as sweet or friendly as she'd like the public to believe. Meghan gets so much criticism but she comes across as more down to earth and genuine.

I have no strong feelings about Meghan either way but I am in shock that her dress cost £545 !
I didn't like it much before I read that !

TheBigBallOfOil · 11/07/2019 20:40

I fully expect this woman to bugger off back to America in a couple of years with her child and a large divorce settlement. And I wouldn’t blame her one bit. Much more fun than contending with the British public who are, on the evidence of this thread. A complete bunch of fruit loops.

dayswithaY · 11/07/2019 20:50

No one seems bothered that William and Harry weren't pictured together. The real feud is probably between them and us plebs are being fed the Kate and Meghan story as a diversion.

Thump · 11/07/2019 20:52

William and Harry are in fact photographed together, sweaty, smiling at each other and chatting after the game...

Thump · 11/07/2019 20:53

I like the dress. It's like a tent I feel like wearing these days.

KimchiLaLa · 11/07/2019 20:55

They declined an earldom. Fact.

According to who??

Mrsjayy · 11/07/2019 20:57

Yes brothera who get on fine are not as interesting as made up feud between women who may also get on fine

rainbowunicorn · 11/07/2019 21:00

There are some really nasty people on this thread. I can only imagine that the ones who behave like this were the school bullies that never grew out of it. What sad pathetic lives they must lead.

GotToGoMyOwnWay · 11/07/2019 21:00

Blimey the venom in here - for a woman you’ve never met!

@DonkeyHohtay - in my culture there are different words for different in-laws including dhs BIL - he’s known as my co-brother-InLaw & dhs sil is known as my co-sister-in-laws. The parents also all socialise together & call each other - co-parents. Never by their names as that’s disrespectful. Makes life so much easier as everyone knows who you are referring to!

Iamnotagoddess · 11/07/2019 21:00

I think the William “affair” story is much more interesting (and believable).

OutComeTheWolves · 11/07/2019 21:00

There's some cracking posts on this thread. Just to add my own thoughts; I loved her dress. It's exactly the sort of California boho look I'd go for before realising it looks far better on a post- partum Meghan Markle that a chubby middle aged mum with shit hair and a tache (ie me).

I held all four of my kids like that when they were tiny because it they liked to be upright and it soothed them when they could hear my heartbeat. I'd imagine with paparazzi around and the sounds of the cameras etc, she may have wanted to keep him calm.

It also used to piss me off no end when people used to comment on my eldest's temperature - ooh he's cold with no socks on, is he not to hot, where's his hat. And that's exactly what people on this thread are doing.

She probably looked awkward because it's clear the U.K. press are completely gunning for her and scrutinising every single interaction. You just have to read the comments section of any dm story about her to see the kind of racist comments people come out with. And yes they always do post the pictures that paint her in the worst light.

Also the way piers Morgan goes on, totally reminds me of this weirdo who I turned down once and then proceed to try and spread shit about me while telling anyone who'd listen that I wasn't his type. The way he writes article after article slating her, I wouldn't be surprised if he propositioned her and is miffed that she preferred Harry! Obviously this last bit has no basis in fact but it's my theory and I'm sticking to it!

luckylavender · 11/07/2019 21:03

I reckon looking after 3 small mobile children is a tad more difficult than looking after one small immobile one.

Iamnotagoddess · 11/07/2019 21:03

@OutComeTheWolves

Tbf not a lot of the (horrible) DM comments are actually racist.

KinderEgg23 · 11/07/2019 21:08

Only just getting catching up with this now to see it's escalated into comments on the way Meghan is dressed, the way she's holding Archie and the way she's dressed him! @CarolDanvers where in that picture does it show "Kate quite clearly interacting with Meghan"? It shows Louis interacting with Meghan/Archie as I stated earlier with Kate gazing into the distance and not at them, can you really not see that?? @Thump your video doesn't Kate interacting at all with Meghan never mind the whole time as you said! That's a different woman in another pinkish dress if you look again!

Meghan needs a sling! Somebody give her an old Ergo or whatever, stick baby Archie in that, and she will relax. Honestly - she just looks stressed trying to carry a new baby and do posh things like smile at royals and watch polo. Sling that kid.

What a massive fucking surprise that must have been for you.

Grandmasusan · 11/07/2019 21:21

Feel for her, she is going to learn the hard way, the people don’t want pushed out, but, I don’t wonder she looks sad, we all would with all the awful comments going around, she can’t do anything right, just hope she’s not been pushed too far, at this vulnerable time. We should all let me find her way, with her new life, give her a chance.

KinderEgg23 · 11/07/2019 21:28

@NeckPainChairSearch you sound like a very angry person!

Is this not Kate laughing with MM and Louis ?

No, I'm not. I'm a normal person who will ALWAYS call out relentless, vicious, mindless bullying, whether it's in real life or online.

Frankly, I'd expect any decent person to do the same.

NoSauce · 11/07/2019 21:39

You are very goady OP. Your thread proves this perfectly.

Shenanagins · 11/07/2019 21:42

I seem to remember that Sarah Ferguson suffered the same fate, once in favour and then just as quickly the horrible headlines, “Duchess of Pork,” ring any bells?

Whilst this is all a vague memory and whilst not a particular fan, it was also utterly relentless especially in comparison to the saintly Diana.

Ivegotthree · 11/07/2019 21:52

Come off it OP!

Is MM on Mumsnet do we think?

lboogy · 11/07/2019 22:02

I'm shocked at how ugly William is now. He really was a stunning young man. I think all the royals look good upto age 25 and then it's downhill from there.

As for Meghan - echoing similar comments - leave her be. It's sad that I have to go to forums targeted at black women to get positively about her. It's a balm to my soul after reading comments on here
