To feel the rage with “teacher tired” posts

The season of teachers posting SM messages “no one knows tired like an end of term teacher/TA/dinner lady” is almost upon us.

I want to scream, what about the fuckers who work stupid hours all week and don’t get 6 weeks off in the summer, half term, two weeks Easter, two weeks at Christmas.

I wouldn’t be a teacher for all the tea in China but these people chose their career.

Grrr, actually don’t care if I’m BU.

With MaisyPops as her Deputy, SachaStark!! Grin
Miss her around here!

BoneyBackJefferson · 30/06/2019 21:59

SisyphusHadItEasy

But since I am not a teacher, I can't understand about real hard work, right?

The only person that has said that is you.

cherriesandoranges · 30/06/2019 22:00

@MsRabbitRocks are you for real? HAHAHAHAha

MsRabbitRocks · 30/06/2019 22:00

I’m more real than you are, dear.

Piggywaspushed · 30/06/2019 22:01

maisypops is here. Namechange : I picked her out a few pages back. her style is recognisable.

I am feeling a bit left out :(

cherriesandoranges · 30/06/2019 22:01

@MsRabbitRocks GrinGrinGrin

cherriesandoranges · 30/06/2019 22:03

@Piggywaspushed lol I knew there were name changing "flamers" on here haha teachers yeah right!

Piggywaspushed · 30/06/2019 22:03

cherry, I must intervene here. If someone replied to you like you have just replied to rabbit you would use it to prove how unprofessional, ungrammatical and uneducated they were. How about trying to occupy at least some moral high ground?

MsRabbitRocks · 30/06/2019 22:04

I always appreciate you Piggy!!!

SachaStark · 30/06/2019 22:04

Thank goodness for that, MaisyPops offered me some amazing advice and support last year on a thread where I was nearly suicidal over teaching.

Please don’t feel left out, @Piggywaspushed! I would hereby like to nominate you as Head of Year, if you fancy it?

cherriesandoranges · 30/06/2019 22:04

@SisyphusHadItEasy good point.

YourSarcasmIsDripping · 30/06/2019 22:05
  1. noble scares the crap out of me... definitely a great head Grin
  1. I'm not a teacher can I still play?Blush
SachaStark · 30/06/2019 22:08

Naturally, @YourSarcasmIsDripping, we need you to be our Resource Manager (in our free school, there is plenty of funding for lots of lovely stationery), so you and I can meet and swear in the cupboard.

Piggywaspushed · 30/06/2019 22:08

Oh for goodness' sake cherries. maisypops changed her name about 4 months ago!!! And she is not one of the posters on here who you are aiming your ire at.

You are becoming very childish. I, also, am glad you do not teach my children.

Piggywaspushed · 30/06/2019 22:09

yes please sacha Halo

YourSarcasmIsDripping · 30/06/2019 22:11

I've already started a cheer me up stash for next year Grin

cherriesandoranges · 30/06/2019 22:13

@YourSarcasmIsDripping I hope it works, something had to cheer you lot up! Smile

BoneyBackJefferson · 30/06/2019 22:17

Piggywaspushed

I think that @cherriesandoranges just likes aiming her ire at teachers.

cherriesandoranges · 30/06/2019 22:22

@BoneyBackJefferson not all teachers. Teachers are generally great and inspiring to kids. Sadly I haven't seen much of that from you.

BoneyBackJefferson · 30/06/2019 22:24

@cherriesandoranges

That would be because you have never seen me teach. But that reasoning might be a little bit beyond you.

LolaSmiles · 30/06/2019 22:26

YourSarcasmIsDripping
Or a governor if you'd like to be involved in debating ideas and being willing to hold school leaders to account.

There'd be no 'yes men/yes women' governing bodies in the MN free school. There's too many informed people with different opinions. I would imagine it would be fun to be a fly on the wall.

cherriesandoranges · 30/06/2019 22:27

@BoneyBackJefferson mmmmm of course.

MitziK · 30/06/2019 22:29

Depends. But then, I worked all day today (Sunday) with kids whose parents have failed to support us in encouraging their kids to bother doing their coursework, so I might be a bit biased when I remember my days in the NHS where my work week finished at 5pm on the dot each Friday and I didn't find myself working five hours' unpaid on Thursday night, either.

YourSarcasmIsDripping · 30/06/2019 22:32

@cherriesandoranges yes because cats and Harry Potter will go a long way when...

I get kicked ,punched,spat and sworn at.
I get a group that adds 0 on their fingers to try and do long division with.
I have to teach at a moment's notice (when I'm not supposed to)
I Get given extra groups for various pastoral care but still have to be in class and do all my jobs.
I deal with police or SS.
I have to send kids home everyday knowing what hell they're going back to.
I support kids with their self harm,sexuality,anxiety or shit home life issues.
I try and ignore last year's kids when they struggle or have a meltdown to give a chance to their new teachers and TA to form a bond with them,while I learn everything I can about my new ones.
And there's other specific things that worry me enough to not be able to sleep to well recently, but that would be too identifying. Let's just say next year will either be shit or I'll become a master juggler.

All that for much less than 1000£ take home pay.

Damn right I need my cats and Harry Potter!

cherriesandoranges · 30/06/2019 22:40

@YourSarcasmIsDripping you're not making any sense now. You sound very distressed. Despite your insults I genuinely hope things get better for you.
