To feel the rage with “teacher tired” posts

999 replies

Rainbowsandglitterbullshit · 28/06/2019 18:26

The season of teachers posting SM messages “no one knows tired like an end of term teacher/TA/dinner lady” is almost upon us.

I want to scream, what about the fuckers who work stupid hours all week and don’t get 6 weeks off in the summer, half term, two weeks Easter, two weeks at Christmas.

I wouldn’t be a teacher for all the tea in China but these people chose their career.

Grrr, actually don’t care if I’m BU.

None whatsoever. But what sort of lunatic would pretend to be a teacher so they could complain about their working conditions? What would be the point?

ilovesooty · 30/06/2019 21:33

She probably doesn't which is why she can't. All fluff and no substance so far.

MsRabbitRocks · 30/06/2019 21:34

I think k you should quit. End of

Ha ha! If cherriesandoranges was an actual ex-teacher, they would know about ilovesooty. Grin

cherriesandoranges · 30/06/2019 21:37

@herculepoirot2 I have no idea unless she's a professional "flamer" of course. Changing her username and going into different forums. Getting comments deleted here and there. A few have been deleted on here too I see. Her grammar and foul language also suggest it's unlikely she's a teacher.

cherriesandoranges · 30/06/2019 21:37

@MsRabbitRocks eh?

LolaSmiles · 30/06/2019 21:38

your "point" is always (in every post) to flame me into an argument. I'm not interested. If you hate your job do much then leave. Don't take it out on me.
There's only one person actively seeking an argument and trying to goad people here and that's you Cherries.

It's bordering on sealioning.

It's really not difficult to grasp how anyone (in any line of work) might enjoy their job but also have negative views about some elements of it. It's not hard to see how people might love their job but get a little fed up of people who don't do that job offering their two pennies worth based on misinformation and/or generalisation.

Nobody has said they hate their job and yet you're still trying to goad people by claiming they do.

Who? I am a teacher and my language is fucking dreadful.

SachaStark · 30/06/2019 21:40

Well, if I wanted to be outed, I could post photos of my PGCE certificate, my staff lanyard, the link to the staff page of my current workplace, my timetable, the stack of exercise books currently in my lounge, my school emails, my teacher number, etc. I won’t, because I’m not a fool.

But I will point out that all of us who are actually teachers are able to speak at length, with eloquence, and in great detail about our professions.

Whereas, you’ve given us the word “strategy”, a brief line about funding which anybody who reads the papers could say about education, and you don’t know how marking works. So...

SachaStark · 30/06/2019 21:42

My grammar is impeccable, and, like many teachers, I enjoy a good swear. We are allowed to, we are all adults!

cherriesandoranges · 30/06/2019 21:43

@SachaStark "LOVE the “teaching bit”, and the kids. The rest can get to fuck, most of the time." Ah "such eloquence" you speak indeed. HAHAHAHA glad you're not teaching my children.

SachaStark · 30/06/2019 21:44

And I’m equally glad you are neither a former teacher, nor work in education.

cherriesandoranges · 30/06/2019 21:45

@SachaStark they are indeed "desperate" for teachers in England if this is the kind of standard you represent. I am appalled!

cherriesandoranges · 30/06/2019 21:46

@SachaStark although I think we've gathered you're not a teacher lol so the education system shd be fine.

SachaStark · 30/06/2019 21:48

Yes, I’m sure you are. Luckily for you, all of us outstanding ones are being burnt out anyway, so your kids can be educated by a relentless stream of supply, and perhaps even unqualified in the future.

cherriesandoranges · 30/06/2019 21:50

@SachaStark thanks however my children have wonderful, educated, lovely, motivated and inspiring teachers. This post has taught me that we are very fortunate.

YourSarcasmIsDripping · 30/06/2019 21:51

@SachaStark I'd love to work with you. A little fucking fuckity fuck fuck in the cupboard makes the day go quicker GrinGrin

Piggywaspushed · 30/06/2019 21:52

How do you know whether they moan or not cherries? They may well go home, or go on to social media and have a right old moan.

MsRabbitRocks · 30/06/2019 21:52

@MsRabbitRocks eh?

Exactly my point. TES mean anything to you, lovely!? GrinGrin

cherriesandoranges · 30/06/2019 21:53

@MsRabbitRocks yes I wrote an article for them 2 years ago.

SachaStark · 30/06/2019 21:54

Are you propositioning me to meet you in the cupboard, @YourSarcasmIsDripping?! My my, not the sort of admin I usually receive on a Sunday night!

In seriousness, I have often thought that I would love to work with many of the teachers I see here on MN. Maybe we should start our own free school. I reckon @noblegiraffe would make a cracking head.

MsRabbitRocks · 30/06/2019 21:56

@MsRabbitRocks yes I wrote an article for them 2 years ago.

Anybody can write an article for them from any angle but if you were an actual ex-teacher, you would know, through the community who ilovesooty was and what they are doing now.

SisyphusHadItEasy · 30/06/2019 21:56

@fedup21

Have you spent your whole career with other people, the government, the papers, social media etc etc telling you that you’re a lazy, work-shy part timer.*

Actually, yes I do. People who wear my uniform are accused of being layabouts, shovel leaning, work shy slackers who chose to work for the city because they can't handle "real work".

But since I am not a teacher, I can't understand about real hard work, right?

RefreshifyMe · 30/06/2019 21:57

The teachers I know never stop harping about how hard they work. Presumably a defensive thing about people talking about the holidays they have. I find it very annoying to be honest and there are many, many harder occupations I'm sure.

LolaSmiles · 30/06/2019 21:58

SachaStark
I've often thought that. There seems a good number of teachers on here who love teaching, care about the children they teach, want them to do well, build positive relationships, believe in inclusion, don't take any crap from confrontational parents who think their child is exempt from rules, have a good understanding of what matters vs box ticking, are informed on policy changes and have an opinion on them.
It would be an interesting place to work.

BoneyBackJefferson · 30/06/2019 21:58

@cherriesandoranges

yes I wrote an article for them 2 years ago.

If there was ever something not to crow about it would be that.
