To feel the rage with “teacher tired” posts

Rainbowsandglitterbullshit · 28/06/2019 18:26

The season of teachers posting SM messages “no one knows tired like an end of term teacher/TA/dinner lady” is almost upon us.

I want to scream, what about the fuckers who work stupid hours all week and don’t get 6 weeks off in the summer, half term, two weeks Easter, two weeks at Christmas.

I wouldn’t be a teacher for all the tea in China but these people chose their career.

Grrr, actually don’t care if I’m BU.

You're going to get roasted OP, MN is a very teacher friendly site.

You must be accessing a different site, it is the total opposite- as soon as term starts so does the- lets bash a teacher threads.

ODFOD. Oh Do Fuck Off Dear

TheseThingsAreFunAndFunIsGood · 28/06/2019 18:35

That's not me sentiments btw it's ODFOD

fedup21 · 28/06/2019 18:35

Of my many teacher friends on Facebook, I’ve never seen one post anything like that.

Have seen many people post-‘Wehoo-at the airport, off on hols-can’t believe how hard I’ve worked and how much I need a holiday!’ type posts from non-teachers though. Many during term time when teachers can’t go away.

Doesn’t bother me.

The only time I’ve ever heard teachers moan about working hard is in response to some twat telling them they work ‘part time playing with children’.

Likethebattle · 28/06/2019 18:35

Yeah I had one post saying ‘let’s hear it for the parents who work looking after other people’s kids at school!’ I put ‘let’s hear it for all working parents cos it’s bloody hard!’

00100001 · 28/06/2019 18:36

" 'I'm sure you'll recover during the 6 weeks you are about to have off'."

Good luck not getting told to do one if you do...

Rainbowsandglitterbullshit · 28/06/2019 18:36

Oh do fuck off dear.

Another mumsnet phrase tripped out by morons who have no more intelligence than originality.

“Used to”, not “useful”! Bloody phone.

BogglesGoggles · 28/06/2019 18:36

I think YABU. Teaching is very difficult (especially in bad schools) and doesn’t compare to most jobs. Even really difficult jobs like high level law/medicine/CEO/CFO/COO etc are comparable but at least those jobs are adequately remunerated. The only thing that makes teaching seem bearable is the holiday.

Poppkitty90 · 28/06/2019 18:37

YANBU!!!

BurnedToast · 28/06/2019 18:38

I take it you aren't aware of the average salaries and working conditions of Junior Doctors Grin

BurnedToast · 28/06/2019 18:39

Teaching is difficult.

So is social work.

So is nursing.

So is midwifery.

So is being a Junior Doctor.

Teaching is not the most difficult job in the world! I have several teacher friends who are fabulous people but don’t set the world alight in terms of intelligence. They would admit that. Only Teacher’s would tell you their job is harder than a surgeon/lawyer/prime minister.

NCBabyBoy · 28/06/2019 18:41

OP, at least have the decency to wait until the last week of term before you start slagging off teachersGrin

Rainbowsandglitterbullshit · 28/06/2019 18:41

Why?

OP posts:
Emmapeeler · 28/06/2019 18:42

I would not object to those social media posts (though I have never seen any myself) - anything that helps get them through the days.

I work 52 weeks in an office etc and have never compared my tiredness with that of a teacher, even when I am moaning about working during school holidays. A few days helping on school trips has helped affirm my views on this!

TheVandalsTookTheHandles · 28/06/2019 18:42

YANBU. 13 weeks holiday a year and they churn out the same lessons every year. And if I hear one more teacher moan that they don't get to leave at 3pm with the kids! No shit Sherlock, you have to work 8 til 6 like the rest of us. Would you like a medal?

SinkGirl · 28/06/2019 18:42

I’m sure teachers are tired, but they don’t know a tiredness unknown by any other human beings, so YANBU.

cardibach · 28/06/2019 18:42

YANBU OP. No sympathy for people playing the tiredness Olympics, you never know what someone else is going through
And yet you are playing, ferret. Suggesting OP is NBU to complain here, you are suggesting others are more tired.
It’s a different kind of tired. I e don’t teaching and not-teaching and while both are tiring, Teacher tired is different in quality. There is no place to hide in a school. In not-teaching if I was tired I could slow down my work rate.

TulipsTwoLips · 28/06/2019 18:42

Most parents chose to be parents. Does that mean they are never allowed to complain that they are tired, because they chose it?

RiddleyW · 28/06/2019 18:43

I think teaching is pretty near the bottom for stress/tiredness to pay ratio to be fair.

butterflywings37 · 28/06/2019 18:43

I don't know any teacher who has ever said their job is harder than another job.

What they do is point out what what is involved in their job when people constantly say how easy teaching is.

fedup21 · 28/06/2019 18:43

Teaching is not the most difficult job in the world!

I have never met a teacher who has remotely suggested it was.

cardibach · 28/06/2019 18:43

I work 52 weeks in an office really? Because that would be illegal. You are entitled to holiday.
