Will not stoop in persecuting Brexiteers. Childish namecalling 'thick', 'racist' 'gammon', and now the vexatious private prosecution against Boris Johnson which was quashed before it even got to court.

OP posts:

^"There were particular reasons why the person making the court action chose Boris Johnson, which were legitimate ones."

are there any links, thanks in advance.

The court ruling ?

It'll be interesting to see the reasoning for the decision, but it's amusing (though pretty appalling, as an accepted state of affairs) that the amongst the arguments put forward in Johnson's defence is that the lies told by him could carry no weight because of his office, on the grounds that the entire world knows he's a mendacious wee shite who wouldn't know the truth if it clapped him about the head. I paraphrase only very slightly there.

Cinammoncake · 07/06/2019 22:48

YABU to care about Boris and to think Brexit is a good idea. Happy to drive the country over a no deal cliff and then expecting nobody to complain.
I hope Brexters do take responsibility in a few years when the whole thing goes tits up. But somehow I doubt it.

SistemaAddict · 07/06/2019 22:51

A lot of remainers are really filled with hate. They would rather destroy this country than let us have our freedom back again.

@Walkingdeadfangirl why do you say remainers are filled with hate and how are they destroying the country? And what do you mean by having our freedom back? In what ways do we not have our freedom?

marvellousnightforamooncup · 07/06/2019 22:55

I'm a remainer because I don't want my country destroyed.

ethelfleda · 07/06/2019 22:56

Say what now?

yolofish · 07/06/2019 22:58

I'm really quite happy to be a remainer and to believe (and know) that I am taking the moral high ground with that.

What WOULD be immoral would be to expose the poor to further poverty; to produce a situation in which eg cancer or epilepsy drugs are unavailable; to produce a situation in which food and other essential imports (for JIT manufacturing) are held up; to turn Kent into a car park...

I'm bloody proud not to have voted for any of that shit.

wherearemychickens · 07/06/2019 23:03

I wouldn't say I'm filled with hate; I am incredibly angry that we collectively as a country have been led down the garden path by a bunch of lying shucksters with no plan. They deliberately didn't have a plan (see Cummings) because having a plan would have meant Brexit couldn't mean all things to all people, and they wouldn't have the votes to get it through.

The minute a plan for Brexit is written down people shout about it, because it involves trade offs and a worsening of our status quo position.

That's how we've ended up with Brexiteers supporting no deal, because it doesn't involve a plan anyone can shout about.

Never mind the fact that no deal is not an end state. It will catastrophically capsize our economy and we will end up back at the negotiating table in a far, far, far weakened position, agreeing everything we've just walked away from.

I too would like to know what 'freedom' we gain in that situation?

wherearemychickens · 07/06/2019 23:05

Yolo, I don't believe many leave voters voted for any of that shit either. I find the retconning of the 'will of the people' infuriating.

echt · 07/06/2019 23:05

Don't know what your problem is, Dana28, Brexiteers deserve all the infamy heaped on them. And more. :o

Possibly not all racists, but thick as a thick thing, definitely.

wherearemychickens · 07/06/2019 23:09

I wouldn't say all leave voters were Brexiteers though, echt.

12goldstars · 07/06/2019 23:09

It’s true that not all people that voted for Brexit are racist but have you forgotten Farage’s anti migration poster featuring mostly non white migrants? I think it’s fair to describe him as racist and so by association parts of the Brexit campaign. It’s also true that not everyone that voted for Brexit is stupid. A lot of people were taken in by the lies they were bombarded with. The Brexit campaign broke rules and played on people’s fears and prejudices. It’s unfair to call them stupid because it’s becoming clear that even our elected representatives don’t fully understand WTO rules or EU law so we shouldn’t have been expected to. I do however think that people who have spent the last 3 years ignoring the unfolding reality and opinions of experts, and bleating on about leave meaning leave without actually having solutions to fundamental issues like the Irish border are showing an element of stupidity.
Johnson lied to further his political career. Others lied and have made millions from it. It should only be a good thing that this is being exposed.

ContinuityError · 07/06/2019 23:16

the vexatious private prosecution against Boris Johnson

Boris lied, and he knew he was lying at the time. The UK Statistics Authority wrote to Boris twice to point out he was lying and he ignored them.

At least this court case had given more transparency to the fact that Boris lied.

Boris lied. Blatantly. Unashamedly. For his own ends.

Facts eh?

Cinammoncake · 07/06/2019 23:20

As well as the people who were misled, there was an element of protest vote in the leave vote - those who thought leave would never happen but wanted to stick it to David Cameron. I can remember this quite clearly. But the Brexiteers have taken this to further their own agenda of 'the will of the people.'
If the stark realities of what was likely to happen had been laid out at the time (not by DC) and the Daily Mail and other trashy papers hadn't been able to push an agenda on a daily basis, I really doubt that Leave would have been the result and we'd be where we are now.

Theworldisfullofgs · 07/06/2019 23:24

He lied. We all know he lied. He doesn't deny lying. It's like a CEO of a company lying about the company's financial health in order to influence share price.

He's a one man walking vanity project and likely to be our next PM. Hmm

echt · 07/06/2019 23:26

I wouldn't say all leave voters were Brexiteers though, echt

I was using the nomenclature of the the OP.

Poloshot · 07/06/2019 23:32

Agreed they're generally absolute weirdos

SistemaAddict · 07/06/2019 23:34

@Poloshot weirdos? In what way?

Theworldisfullofgs · 07/06/2019 23:41

Definitely not weirder than brexiters who think the EU set education policy...

twitter.com/OliDugmore/status/1136900254257819648?s=19

wherearemychickens · 07/06/2019 23:50

Yet again anger inducing - the Brexit party is just not serious. There's no /content/. There's just wilful misinformation and misunderstanding.

moonrises · 07/06/2019 23:54

To be honest the EU would probably do a better job of setting education policy.

But he talked of his businesses, that pesky EU and their working directives etc get in the way of his profit a.k.a money in his pocket no doubt.

NotACleverName · 07/06/2019 23:54

Johnson is a lying sack of contemptuous shite and deserves everything that’s coming to him.

I’m also interested to hear what “freedom” we don’t have. I do hope you’re going to expand on that statement, @Walkingdeadfangirl. (I won’t hold my breath, though.)

DeeCeeCherry · 07/06/2019 23:56

Oh another goady toady...

Better Remainers than Brexiteers disenfranchising their own and others' future generations. You'll cut your own throat as long as you can spite everybody else with your crass forelock-tugging, grovelling to Tories, empirical minded xenophobic selves. I've never met a Brexiteer who even knows what Brexit is about, you think your forum & pub conversations are political debates that will change the world. Not that you've seen the world..

Complain to Tommeh Robinson about the name-calling he might soothe your fevered brow🙂

Walkingdeadfangirl · 08/06/2019 00:32

@NotACleverName
Happy to expand. Pray tell is there any laws you would be unwillingly to accept from the foreign governments of the EU. Or are you happy to be dictated to about absolutely anything? (I won’t hold my breath, though.)

Myothercarisalsoshit · 08/06/2019 01:12

Johnson will inherit the huge steaming morass of shit that is the Conservative party. Contrary to what he says he will be unable to deliver Brexit and will have to call a GE pretty quickly. Then it’s anyone’s guess. Will the B(N)P actually declare any actual policies? Probably not as they will be seen for the swivel eyed loons they really are. King Gammon himself was on BBC breakfast this morning threatening civil unrest come October. BJ is a proven liar. He deserves everything that’s coming to him and more.
